Ghostie Bath Bomb from Lush

As its name suggests, Ghostie is a small but mighty, ghost-shaped bath bomb, it fits snuggly in my hand and is a lot cuter than it is spooky. I love that it has a pink mouth and eyes, it makes the mouth and eyes really pop against the rest of the white bath bomb.

Ghostie contains a generous helping of popping candy, lemongrass, Sicilian lemon and Persian lime oil. Its scent is super sour and has the power to awaken all of your senses and more. It doesn’t share a scent with either the Avobath or Melusine bath bombs but if you like either of them, chances are you’ll be a fan of Ghostie too.

When you are just holding the Ghostie bath bomb, its zesty-scent really is like a slap in the face especially when you’re tired or in need of a pick-me-up. I don’t think there has ever been a more powerful citrus scent from Lush which is a very bold statement considering how many citrus-based products they’ve released over the years.

Ghostie may look plain at first glance but if you look at its side you are given a clue as to how it will perform in the bath. Its design is very similar to the 3 rainbow bath bombs from Lush, the Snowman Dreaming, Follow the White Rabbit and Toby’s Magic Cow.

While I’d still tie the Ghostie bath bomb in with the 3 rainbow bath bombs claiming it to be the 4th of its kind, its insides are just blue and pinky-purple. Ghosties bath arts colouring (barring the white) is very similar to the Monsters’ Ball bath bombs.

As soon as the Ghostie bath bomb comes into contact with the bath water white foam fizzles out of it as well as a streak of blue and purple from one of its sides.

As pretty as the rainbow bath bombs are, I think making Ghostie just have blue and purple insides was a wise decision from Lush as I wouldn’t want people to start getting bored of the same type of bath bomb over and over.

For a relatively small bath bomb, Ghostie takes a long time to dissolve, it took 15 minutes in total which leaves you with plenty of time to enjoy the blue, white and pinky-purple bath art it creates.

The popping candy hidden in the Ghostie bath bomb becomes apparent within a minute or 2 of the bath bomb going into the water. Surprisingly it carries on crackling and popping away for a good 5 minutes after the bath bomb has fully dissolved.

The water left behind is a milky violet colour and incredibly soft on the skin. Laying back in Ghostie bath water leaves me feeling refreshed and puts a spring in my step.

The only negative I’ve found with the Ghostie bath bomb is that its scent doesn’t seem to stay on your skin once you’re out of the bath. I was really surprised by this as its scent from the box and throughout it being in the bath is incredibly strong.

Although the fragrance of Ghostie seems to disappear at the same time as the bath water goes down the drain, it still left my skin looking brighter and feeling silky smooth.
 

Am I mad that Lush replaced my favourite Halloween bath bomb with Ghostie? Yes. Although both Monsters’ Ball and Ghostie have similar bath art they are 2 very different bath bombs. With Monsters’ Ball being my favourite I will always be a little bitter about it not coming back. That’s not me saying that I dislike Ghostie though. I think it’s a fantastic addition to the Halloween line and can see it being enjoyed by many customers.
