Kiss Me Quick Business Wash Card from Lush

kiss-me-quick-business-wash-card

I have to confess, the Kiss Me Quick Business Wash Card is my very first purchase of its kind. The fact I haven’t ever used something like this before is probably why I have left it as being my last review of the Valentine’s Day 2017 product line.

There are several of these ‘soap paper’ products available from Lush but, being honest (as always) I have always thought of them as more of a novelty product and until now hadn’t paid very much attention to them at all.

Lush Cosmetics are all for using less or no packaging at all when it comes to their products. Not only does this have a positive effect on the environment but it also benefits the consumer for a number of reasons. In regards to Lush’s invention of soap paper, the idea behind it is that it is solid. Having a paper consistency means it weighs less than a shower gel and of course, it doesn’t need packaging. It is also the perfect product to travel with, it’s small, light and because it’s not liquid it can be taken on to planes etc.

The Kiss Me Quick business wash card is, as its name suggests the same size as a business card. It can be slipped into your purse or wallet alongside your cash and debit cards easy-peasy. Just try not to attempt to use it as a type of payment when presented with a card machine. That is, unfortunately one thing it cannot do… Even in a Lush store. 😉

The Kiss Me Quick wash card’s scent is one of Lush’s most loved fragrances, 29 High Street. The 29 High Street scent is Lush’s perfume-interpretation of the ambience of its original shop in Poole. With it containing so many ingredients, Kiss Me Quick’s scent is quite complex, It’s a very welcoming scent with both floral and musky sweet tones.kiss-me-quick-wc

The idea behind the soap paper is that you rip a tiny square of it off at a time, working it in your hands the same way you would soap. I was very surprised at how quickly the smallest piece lathered up. It was just like using a bar of soap.

As an alternative to shower gel, Kiss Me Quick works really well. The fact it is so small yet has so much power really impresses me. I do however think that for now, I will stick with normal shower gel when it comes to everyday use.

Be that as it may, this doesn’t mean that I won’t be keeping a Kiss Me Quick wash card in my purse. You never know when you might need it. It’s the perfect item to add to your cosmetic-emergency first aid kit!

Love You, Love You Lots Soap from Lush

Love You, Love You Lots Soap.pngIf you was lucky enough to use last years Roses All the Way soap then you’d recognise that it and the Love You, Love You Lots Soap share a scent. In all honesty I was a little disappointed that they had dropped Roses All the Way, I loved the Alice in Wonderland theme around it BUT I also enjoy new products so welcomed the new soap with open arms.

I am not a huge user of bars of soap. I just prefer using shower gel/cream on my body as I find bars of soap can leave my skin really dry. Not all of them do though so I thought it was worth giving the Love You, Love You Lots soap a try.

When I first experienced this soap’s scent I was instantly reminded of the Rose Jam shower gel. It isn’t quite the same though, Love You, Love You Lots soap has a much softer floral tone to it. Alongside the floral tone there is a subtle, sweet and zingy aspect too. The more I use it, the more prominent the lemon oil in it appears to be. The scent compliments the time of year perfectly. The only negative point I feel I have to share about this soap is that I needed to work a lot harder to get a workable lather.

The Love You, Love You Lots soap did dry out my skin but I had expected that. The Sultana of Skin body conditioner however came to the rescue and all was well.

Sadly I don’t think its a soap I will want to stock up on before the season is over but, I am very glad that I tried it as I love revisiting Lush’s library of beautiful and unique scents through new products in all types of different formats.

The Kiss Lip Gloss from Lush

The Kiss Lip Gloss has yet again made a return as a part of Lush’s Valentine’s Day range. Sharing its scent with my favourite of the Lush lip scrubs, The Kiss I can never help but pick one up.

When I very first ordered this lip gloss I wasn’t at all aware that it was a lip gloss, I thought it was either a lip balm or a lip tint. It wasn’t until I had it in front of me that I realised what it was. Stupid I know, after all it’s not like it is labelled as ‘The Kiss Lip Gloss’ in an inconspicuous way.

I’m not a huge fan of lip gloss purely because it’s a nightmare to have on when you have long hair. The wind just has to blow a little bit for your hair to get stuck to your mouth, it’s easy enough to unstick, lip gloss is however not very flattering in your hair. There’s only so much it can take before people start to think you missed a bit of gunk the last time you washed it.the-kiss-lip-glossWith this in mind I was pretty positive that I wouldn’t get on with the, The Kiss lip gloss I am however pleased to let you know that I actually quite like it.

First of all it smells exactly the same as the Lip Scrub, secondly it isn’t as glossy as I had feared. I would describe it as more of a lip butter, Although it is not quite as moisturising as a lip butter, just very similar in consistency. It’s packed with natural ingredients that are all very good for lips. Shea butter and coconut oil are great at moisturising the lips while a mix of mandarin oil and almond oil softens and brightens them.

The Kiss glides onto your lips very easily and you can layer it up to add to its subtle, light pink colour. If you’re like me and don’t like too much product, you can just dab on the one coat to add a light shine to your lips.

This lip gloss is not my favourite from the Valentine’s range however when it is paired with the lip scrub it’s brilliant. The only thing I’m not sure about is the taste of it. I know you’re not supposed to eat it but it does go on your lips so naturally I’d prefer it to taste a little bit better than it does.
