Twilight Body Spray from Lush

Twilight Body SprayAt the Lush Summit back in February 2017 Lush revealed several brand new body sprays. Some were available to buy whilst others were prototypes that weren’t quite ready for release. Today I am reviewing the Twilight Body Spray, it shares its scent with Lush’s Sleepy body lotionLuxury Lush Pud bath bomb, Mr Sandman dusting powder and most obviously the shed load of other products that go by the same name.

Twilight body spray is rich with lavender and tonka-absolute making it the perfect product to help you relax and unwind. Be that at the end of a long, hard day or first thing in the morning to help yourself remain cool, calm and collected for the day ahead.

To use all you have to do is squirt the Twilight body spray over your body or clothes. Just 1 or 2 squirts is all you need, I’m amazed that such a small amount leaves you smelling absolutely gorgeous all day long. I can understand why so many people like the body sprays more than the perfumes. They have the same level of strength (scent-wise) and you get so much more for your money.

The Twilight body sprays fragrance is fairly gentle and not too in your face. It has a very soft-lavender tone to it, mixed in with the lavender is also a dash of tonka absolute. The inclusion of tonka adds a sweet and almost musky layer to its scent, it’s one of the most soothing, mind-clearing and calming fragrances that Lush have created to date.

I use the Twilight body spray 3 maybe 4 times a week and have been doing so since march/april this year and it’s still going strong. As I said above, only one or two spritz of the Twilight body spray is needed to get the most out of it and its scent really does stay with you for the whole day.

I have promised myself that I will buy another bottle just before my current one is finished, that way I’ll never be without… I honestly don’t know why Lush didn’t create body sprays long before now as they really are such wonderful products. The Twilight body spray is cost effective, smells exactly the same as the much loved Twilight bath bomb and has lasted me so much longer than any other Lush product ever has before. Without a doubt the Twilight body spray is in my opinion the best body spray I’ve ever owned.

Twilight Naked Shower Gel from Lush

Twilight Naked Shower Gel

When I first heard about Lush’s latest invention the ‘naked’ product line, I found myself scratching my head in confusion, especially when it came down to naked shower gels. I had so many questions, how, what and why? were the questions that bounced around my head the most. Lush are infamous for releasing the wackiest of products and I always like to give Lush the benefit of the doubt by trying everything new, after all you can’t have a real opinion on a product if you haven’t even tried it…

I was as curious about how the naked products worked as I was confused at their release. The first of the naked products that I tried were the naked lip scrubs, the Black Rose naked lip scrub won me over instantly and just like that I decided that I needed to try every single naked product from this years winter range.

I decided to try and review the Twilight Naked Shower Gel first as it shares its scent with the first Lush bath bomb I ever bought and used, Twilight. Its scent is mostly dominated by the lavender oil in it, it however also contains tonka absolute which gives the shower gel a vanilla like scent-kick too. It is one of the very first Lush scents that I fell in love with so it seemed only natural to review the Twilight naked shower gel first.

The Twilight naked shower gel has pretty much the same ingredients as the original Twilight shower gel that comes in a bottle, the only difference is the sodium stearate, this ingredient is what makes the product solid. All of the naked shower gels work in exactly the same way as their plastic-bottled-equivalents would, they simply just don’t come in any type of packaging (they’re naked). My very first thought when I heard about and see the naked shower gels piled up high at the Lush Creative Showcase 2017 was, surely it’s just a soap? To look at I’d say it was soap through and through, the naked shower gels however contain no soap base at all.

You use a naked shower gel just as you would a normal shower gel. Instead of fiddling with a lid and then squidiging the product out of the bottle you now just have to lather the naked shower gel similar to how you would a bar of soap, Twilight in particular I find lathers up really quickly. It Is just as consistent as the normal shower gel is, I cannot tell the difference between the naked and normal shower gels once I am rubbing it in. The naked shower gels are also not hard like bars of soap either. They are ever so slightly squishy, solid enough to hold their shape without packaging, but, squishy enough to help give you an easy lather. Once you feel like you have enough product out of it, you then simply pop it on the side to dry out ready for you to use in your next shower or bath.

Once used, the scent of the Twilight naked shower gel stays with you throughout the evening and even lasts on your skin for most of the next day. Not only do you benefit from its beautifully subtle scent hours and hours after using it, you also get soft, smooth and gloriously hydrated skin. I was not expecting this at all, as shower gels go I am very, very impressed, this naked shower gel in particular works just as well at hydrating your skin as a bottled shower cream such as the Comforter would.

So far I have used the Twilight naked shower gel 4 maybe 5 times and there’s no signs of obvious use just yet. I can see this lasting longer than the normal shower gels which is a huge bonus in my house as my husband always over indulges with my Lush shower gels.

If you love the Twilight scent as much as I do I’d recommend using the Twilight sparkle jar once you’ve showered with the shower gel. I love layering up scents from the same scent family and with Sleepy body lotion and the Luxury Lush Pud bath bomb from Lush currently being available as well, you really can go all out and enjoy the Twilight scent through multiple product formats.

Mr Sandman Dusting Powder from Lush

mr-sandman-dusting-powder

Mr Sandman Dusting Powder is yet another brand new Twilight scented product that has been welcomed with open arms by the Lush community.

I am a little disappointed that it appears to have replaced my all time favourite festive dusting powder, First Snow. I am however always more than happy to try a new Lush product and even more so when it is Twilight scented!

If you have read any of my previous reviews on the other various Twilight scented products, you’d know that the Twilight bath bomb was the very first bath bomb that I tried from Lush. I of course became bath bomb bonkers on first use and just under four years later, here I still am raving about it.

When I first got into Lush I had no idea that their products even had scent families. I just thought that the Twilight bath bomb was lavender scented. I had no idea of the complexity of ingredients chosen to go into each and every single product that Lush have on offer.

Mr Sandman’s scent family happens to be one of the biggest sellers for Lush. This is reflected in the huge amount of Twilight scented products that they have created.

This year in particular, Lush have well and truly spoilt the Twilight fans with lots of new, never before released items. We have had the Twilight Shower Jelly in the Lush Kitchen and right now the Twilight and Luxury Lush Pud bath bombs are available to purchase as are the Sleepy body lotion and the Mr Sandman dusting powder. They have even re-released the much loved Twilight shower gel for the festive period in their flagship store in London, Oxford Street.

I’d say that the majority of newbie Lushies do not have any idea on the amount of products they actually do. When you say ‘Lush Cosmetics,’ the first thing that people say is ‘Oh the bath bomb shop?’ Once you’re hooked on the bath bombs that’s when you begin to explore what other products they have.

Mr Sandman is a dusting powder and is used in the same way as a talcum powder, it is applied all over the body after washing and/or moisturising or for a quick refresh in between.

Its purpose is to absorb your skin’s excess oils while also adding an extra layer of fragrance to your skin. After applying Mr Sandman my skin is not only fragranced with the Twilight scent but is also smooth to the touch. It makes your skin feel silky soft and works wonders in areas of your body that are prone to sometimes get excessively sweaty such as under your boobs. Although it’s not an antiperspirant it does help keep sweat away for a little longer than when you go without.

Some people may be put off by Mr Sandman as it does have a small amount of lustre in. Back when I first got in to Lush I was a lustre sceptic I however now know that it’s really nothing to worry about. It’s the same type of shimmer that you’d find in make up such as a highlighter or bronzer. It adds a slight gleam to your skin and I honestly don’t even notice if a product has it in or not anymore, either way it doesn’t bother me.

Pairing Mr Sandman up with Lush’s other new Twilight scented product Sleepy Body Lotion is a force to be reckoned with, this simple Lush cocktail aids restful sleep that makes Maleficent’s sleeping curse look weak.

The carefully selected ingredients that lull you into a relaxed state of mind, which in turn aids restful sleep are lavender, chamomile, tonka absolute and ylang ylang. Although I can’t give Mr Sandman or Sleepy all of the credit, every time I have used them both together, I have been able to drop off to sleep much quicker and easier, which is a huge deal for me considering that I had previously struggled to fall asleep full stop.

Over all I am very impressed with the Mr Sandman dusting powder, I was a little shocked at its high price however now I have used it I know it is worth every penny.
