Lemony Flutter Body Spray from Lush

The Lemony Flutter Body Spray is one of six exclusive body sprays that Lush have just released a limited amount of.

As you can see from the photos included in this review, the Lemony Flutter body spray doesn’t have the standard Lush, black-and-white-label on it. Lemony Flutters label is a standout, bright, lemony yellow!

I think Lush were really clever to inject this colour into the labels of each of the exclusive body sprays in this Summer-led fragrance drop. The bright colours scream Summer; Alongside the uplifting scents contained within the six body spray bottles, it is impossible to not be excited about them.

You’ll recognise this body sprays scent if you have ever tried the Lemony Flutter cuticle butter. I have used it in the past but never got round to reviewing it.

My nail lady will be very pleased to hear that I’ve just ordered another pot. I predict hydrated cuticles and another Lemony Flutter scented review happening in the not so distant future…

Ingredients wise, the Lemony Flutter body spray contains Sicilian lemon, chamomile blue oil, lavender oil and tagetes oil. It is a really unique scent.

I don’t think I have ever come across anything quite like it (from a cosmetics perspective) outside of Lush. It’s sweet, sharp but also has a sour sherbet layer to it too.

When you first apply it, it completely fools my brain into thinking that I am eating a sherbet lemon sweet; For anyone not familiar with sherbet lemons, they are a popular lemon flavoured boiled sweet that have a fizzy sherbet middle.

I find myself licking my lips every time I first come into contact with this body spray. With every spritz I am convinced that I am going to get a hit of tangy sherbet on my tongue.

Thanks to the tagetes oil in it, the Lemony Flutter body spray lasts for just over four or five hours on your skin and a little longer if it is sprayed on your clothes.

Once the fizziness of the body sprays scent has settled somewhat, other elements of the Lemony Flutter scent become more apparent. The only word I can think of to describe its settled scent is as hydrating; I understand you can’t really smell ‘hydration’ but it just really reminds me of being all lotioned up on a sunny holiday.

The Lush community were in desperate need of an influx of new perfume and body sprays. I’m going to be bold and say that I think Lemony Flutter is my favourite of the new exclusive body sprays currently available.

I’m actually surprised that Lush haven’t extended the Lemony Flutter scent family until now.

A very small amount of the Lemony Flutter body spray goes a very long way. It’s incredibly strong but not in a bad way.

The way the fragrance settles on you means I do like to spray it two maybe three times on myself which isn’t bad for a body spray. Just thinking of the body spray is making my mouth water, it’s that yummy!

Dream Cream Bath Bomb from Lush

The Dream Cream Bath Bomb is a brand-new product from the 2024 World Bath Bomb Day collection.

The Dream Cream bath bomb looks just like previous Epsom salt bath bombs such as the Deep Sleep Magnesium bath bomb. It isn’t the only Epsom salt bath bomb from the 2024 World Bath Bomb Day collection either, the Cold Water Soother bath bomb is also currently available.

Epsom salt is a very popular ingredient that people add to their bath water to help with muscle pain and deep relaxation.

Even though I don’t exercise as much as I’d like to due to illness, I do get a lot of muscle pain so anything Epsom salt orientated is right up my street.

The Dream Cream bath bomb was inspired by Lush’s bestselling Dream Cream body lotion. The lotion equivalent of the Deep Sleep bath bomb is a favourite amongst customers with troubled skin as it is so gentle and soothing.

The Dream Cream bath bomb is cube shaped, one half of it is blue and the other half is white.

Each Dream Cream bath bomb is approximately 160g so a little lighter than the Epsom salt bath bombs that were released previously. To look at, they however look the same size.

The Dream Cream bath bomb contains Epsom salts, fine ground oatmeal, fair trade organic cocoa butter, rose absolute, chamomile blue oil, tea tree oil and lavender oil.

Dream Cream’s scent is as gentle as its ingredients, you can just make out the chamomile and lavender, it also has a slight oaty layer to its scent too.

Each ingredient is not just soothing on your skin but also has positive effects on your mood which in turn promotes calmness and relaxation.

As soon as the Dream Cream bath bomb touches your bath water you are greeted with a loud hiss. The blue and white parts of the bath bomb spill out of it, slowly changing the colour of your bath water to a light blue.

After just a few seconds the bath bomb sinks to the bottom of your bath and blue blobs of cocoa butter float to the top. When bath bombs sink like this, I like to let the bubbles tickle my back.

What surprised me about the Dream Cream bath bomb was the amount of cocoa butter in it. I didn’t realise quite how much it did have in it until the blue blobs of it floated to the water surface.

I should have known it would be super-cocoa-buttery as, it wouldn’t be a part of the Dream Cream family had it not been…

Like the other Epsom salt bath bombs, Dream Cream is a very quick dissolver and doesn’t create any bath art.

After just two minutes, all that is left of the Dream Cream are the chunks of cocoa butter that haven’t quite melted yet. I suspect the chunks would have melted a lot quicker for me if the bath water was at a higher temperature.

With it being so hot in the UK right now I didn’t have a red hot bath like I normally would so keep this in mind when you use it.

I feel that, like the Butterball bath bomb, if you want to make the most out of the cocoa butter in the Dream Cream bath bomb, it is best used in a hot as you can stand it bath. Although, if you do use it in a cooler bath it will be just as soothing, the butters just won’t be as melted.

The scent was more or less, non-existent by the end of the bath, but my skin felt fabulous and well soothed even without the bath water being super-hot!

Salted Caramel Lip Scrub from Lush

The main ingredient in all of Lush’s lip scrubs is caster sugar. To this day I am still lost for words that such a simple and natural mix of ingredients can do such a great job at exfoliating. It really does make me question why other cosmetic companies ever actively chose to use micro-plastics in their exfoliation products.

Lush’s lip scrubs are ridiculously underrated, if you’re on the fence about giving them a go I promise you, you will not be disappointed.

Today I am going to be reviewing the Salted Caramel Lip Scrub that first appeared in August 2021’s Lush Kitchen Subscriptions box and is where the now very famous, Sticky Dates Lush-scent-family all began!

I use Lush lip scrubs almost every day so whenever a new one comes out, I always make sure I grab a pot.

Using Lush lip scrubs requires a minimum amount of effort, and they cover everything your lips need to always look and feel their best.

They are the perfect product to exfoliate dry or chapped lips, and most are also very good at softening and hydrating them at the same time. Exfoliating your lips has so many benefits and thanks to Lush, it has never been easier to do.

As well as caster sugar, the Salted Caramel lip scrub also contains some of the following ingredients: Organic jojoba oil, fairtrade shea butter, golden caster sugar, extra fine sea salt, sandalwood oil, carob resinoid, benzoin resinoid, argan oil, cocoa powder and paprika.

Other products that share the same scent as the Salted Caramel lip scrub are the Sticky Dates shower gelSticky Dates Co-Mingle body scrubSticky Dates body spraySticky Dates sugar scrub and Sticky Dates body lotion… Just to name a few!

To use, simply scoop out a little of the lip scrub with your finger then buff it on your lips. Once you’ve buffed them to your desired amount simply lick off any excess product.

Lush’s lip scrubs are obviously not meant to be eaten; BUT if a little amount of the Salted Caramel lip scrub does by accident end up in your mouth while you are scrubbing your lips, you don’t need to worry.

I tend to favour the lighter or more natural to actual lip-colour lip scrubs over the brightly coloured ones because I find that the highly pigmented scrubs can sometimes leave your lips with a slight tint of whatever colour the lip scrub is.

I am however pleased to report that during use, I haven’t had any colour transfer from the Salted Caramel lip scrub at all. Not that, that would be a huge problem though as it’s very similar looks wise to brown sugar, with hardly any pigment.

Even though I’m usually not a huge fan of super sweet Lush products, I do actually like the smell/taste of the Salted Caramel lip scrub. It’s not the same, sickly-sweet as the Bubblegum lip scrub. It’s just like sticky toffee pudding, I can’t get enough!

A little amount of the Salted Caramel lip scrub goes a long way and it’s the perfect amount of scrubby. The grains in it are about the same size of sugar granules.

After using the Salted Caramel lip scrub my lips feel smoother and I also find the formula quite hydrating, I however wouldn’t say no to a Salted Caramel/Sticky Dates scented lip balm to add to the hydration… Please release one, Lush?

Overall, I love the Salted Caramel lip scrub and am eager to see what Sticky Dates scented products Lush come up with next!
