Let The Good Times Roll Body Lotion from Lush

The Let The Good Times Roll Body Lotion is a brand-new, limited-edition product from Lush’s small but glorious, gourmand product drop.

I was lucky enough to get to try it before its official release date as Lush kindly sent me a bottle.

No matter the product format, any item that comes out in Lush’s Let The Good Times Roll scent-family seems to be a hit.

I fall in love with the product whatever the format is, which is highly unusual for me as it’s quite a sweet scent.

I ordinarily always reach for the fruity scented products, Let The Good Times Roll however made me more open minded to the sweet-foody Lush scents!

My first experience with the Let The Good Times Roll scent was in its fresh face and body cleanser format. Since, I have also enjoyed it in the Nana shower gel, Yummy Custard body wash and Pop Art bath bomb. There is also currently a body spray with the same fragrance that I have yet to review.

Most Lush body lotions come in Lush’s standard black pots; However, the Let The Good Times Roll body lotion comes in a 250g bottle.

Before I had a bottle of it in my possession, I imagined that the fact it was sold in bottles (and not the black pots) could have been because it had a runnier consistency.

I was as always, wrong; It is not at all runny and is in fact super thick and creamy.

The main ingredients in the Let The Good Times Roll body lotion are, corn oil, polenta infusion, organic jojoba oil, glycerine, fair trade organic cocoa butter and organic illipe butter.

I always look for glycerine in Lush products as it’s the magic ingredient that helps lock all of the moisturising ingredients into your skin.

The Let The Good Times Roll scent is described by my husband as ‘the popcorn one’ and he’s not wrong.

Think of freshly popped, toffee popcorn, it’s delicious, warm, and incredibly moreish. I feel like I must mention this, as yummy as it smells, it is a body lotion not food.

Even though the Let The Good Times Roll body lotion is fairly thick, it is super easy to get out of the bottle.

A very small amount of it goes a long way too making it excellent value for money.

Another thing that surprised me about the Let The Good Times Roll body lotion was how quickly it melts into your skin.

Some body lotions can leave you feeling a little greasy, but I’m pleased to report that the Let The Good Times Roll body lotion doesn’t leave your skin feeling clammy or over moisturised at all.

Rubbing it in requires minimum effort as the lotion sinks right into your skin leaving it perfectly hydrated, feeling soft and appearing much brighter and refreshed.

After applying there’s an almost smoky element to the scent, like an extra layer of hot and gooey caramel.

My favourite thing about this lotion is however how long its scent lingers on your skin. The smallest amount of it lasts ALL DAY, I’ve seen some people say they couldn’t really smell it on them but once I have it on me, it’s all I can smell.

Overall, I love the Let The Good Times Roll body lotion and I’m so excited to see what Lush come up with next!

Somewhere Bath Bomb from Lush

In celebration of World Bath Bomb Day 2024, Lush Cosmetics have released 29 bath bombs that consist of some much-loved golden oldies, some as they were and some now super-sized, as well as a shedload of brand-new bath bombs too!

The first one I will be reviewing is the brand-new Somewhere Bath Bomb. It is designed in the shape of (what first appears to be) a pink coloured rainbow with 2 white clouds on either of its ends.

This bath bombs name is a play on the Somewhere Over The Rainbow song and to look at, it’s the closest we’ve ever got to a remake of the Somewhere Over The Rainbow bath bomb; Although, the rainbow theme is the only thing these two bath bombs seem to have in common.

As I said earlier, the Somewhere bath bomb appears to be just a pink rainbow. I thought this was a little strange at first but if you look at the sides of the Somewhere bath bomb you can see clues of a much more colourful inside.

The Somewhere bath bomb contains coconut milk powder, bergamot oil, Sicilian lemon oil, orange flower absolute, Sicilian red Mandarin oil and a sprinkling of popping candy.

It shares its scent with the much loved The Olive Branch shower gel. Its scent is a delicate yet stunning citrus, it is perfect for anyone who is wary of the stronger Lush scents that Lush are often associated with. Other products that share its scent include: The Christmas Penguin bubble bar and The Olive Branch bath bomb.

Each of the Somewhere bath bombs are approximately 95g each fitting easily in my hand.

As soon as the Somewhere bath bomb comes into contact with your bath water it begins to foam up. At first white foam spills out of it but after about 30 seconds, several pastel shades of colour begin to trickle out of it too.

There’s obviously a lot of pink because that’s the main colour of the bath bomb but a mix of pale purple, green, orange, and yellow slowly fizz out of it too. As it charges around your bath it leaves pastel coloured bath art behind.

The photos in this review do the bath bomb no justice at all.

As the water begins to consume the Somewhere bath bomb, the first part of it to go completely under the water’s surface is the inside of the rainbow arch. A minute or so later, the pink part of the bath bomb goes under as well, leaving just the clouds. Shortly after that, it all goes under gently bubbling up.

The Somewhere bath bombs scent hangs around your bathroom for an hour or two after pulling the plug. It lasts on your skin for a good six or so hours too.

It takes about four minutes for the Somewhere bath bomb to fully dissolve, thanks to the coconut milk powder in it, laying back in its waters feels amazing on your skin. I also forgot to mention the popping candy! That crackles away long after the bath bomb has dissolved, adding a little something extra to your bathing experience.

Overall, I’m so in love with the Somewhere bath bomb, it was the first bath bomb from the big, World Bath Bomb Day launch to catch my eye and it did not disappoint.

My skin adored soaking up all of its ingredients and its light citrus scent left me craving more. I loved how its colours weren’t really bright, sometimes less is more and its lighter colours complimented its subtle scent perfectly.

The Somewhere bath bomb has left me so excited to try all of the other new bath bombs, I really hope that it sells well as it’s made a lasting impression on me!

Magik CBD Shower Gel from Lush

Lush have recently added four new ‘Magik’ products to their CBD range, today I will be reviewing the brand new Magik Shower Gel.

As someone who often struggles to switch off and relax, anything that could help me get to that state of mind quicker is worth a try.

I was lucky enough to be gifted all four of the new CBD products from Lush, I am so incredibly grateful for Lush’s generosity yet again; Every time I get a package from them it’s like all my Christmases have come at once!

Before we delve deeper into my review of the Magik shower gel I want to talk about the CBD element of all the new products…

CBD is short for cannabidiol; Cannabidiol is the non-psychoactive and non-addictive compound found in hemp plants, in simple terms it means using this Lush product won’t get you high.

There has been a lot of research conducted around the use of CBD oil and it is said to have a long list of health-benefits.

It is said to help with stress management as well as aiding those suffering with anxiety and/or sleep problems, it has also been proven to help people like me, who suffer from medical conditions that cause wide-spread chronic pain.

The very reason I first got into Lush was because I was looking for non-medicinal alternatives to prescription painkillers, so it is only natural for me to jump at the chance to try each of the new CBD products.

The Magik shower gel comes in 120g, 280g and 580g bottles, for the CBD ratio on each product you’ll get the most accurate information on Lush’s website.

All of my reviews on this blog are my own personal experience with Lush products. I’ve had a few messages from people who haven’t tried the Magik products yet but have some experience with CBD say things like, ‘this won’t work for…’

I’m always open to listen to other people’s thoughts and opinions but I feel my job in this review is to tell you how I found THIS product.

As you can see from the photos I have included in this review, the Magik shower gel has a super funky product label with white font and a green and pink swirly background.

The shower gel itself is a slightly pearlescent dark shade of green. I might actually take a bottle of it into my next nail appointment as I’d love nails the exact same colour!

As well as the CBD hemp seed oil, the Magik shower gel also contains fine sea salt, chamomile blue oil, jasmine absolute, violet leaf absolute and ylang ylang absolute.

Its shares its scent with the Ultra Violet bubble barWild Violet Co-Mingle body scrub and the other three products from the same new ‘Magik’ line.

As soon as you take the shower gels lid off, you’re hit with the gentle but sweet smell of violets, it’s a really fresh and natural fragrance.

There are herbal and grassy elements to it too. This blend of particular ingredients is incredibly grounding and surprisingly warming in a Summertime way; A weird description I know but it’s what I smell and how I feel using it.

Consistency wise, the Magik shower gel is just right, it’s very easy to get out of the bottle but not at all runny.

You can see from the photo above how well formed the blob is.Looks wise, the photo above does the shower gel no justice at all. It’s a dark shade of green and pearlescent in the same way as the Passion shower gel was from the Valentine’s Day line earlier this year.

The Magik shower gel lathers up easily and creates a green like foam; A very small amount of it goes a long way which makes its higher price a lot more justifiable.

During use the hot water and steam of the shower make this subtle violet fragrance a whole lot stronger.

For me in particular, I have always found this products Lush-scent-family quite calming so it wouldn’t be fair to assume that my feeling more relaxed was all down to the CBD content in it. BUT I did leave the shower feeling very relaxed and refreshed, CBD or not.

After use, my skin is perfectly hydrated and feels clean and silky-soft too.

I’m amazed at how pretty the shower gel looks just in the bottle; it really sparkles when the light hits it. Who knew a shower gel could be so mesmerising?

Overall, I love the Magik shower gel; it has one of Lush’s most natural to actual violet scents and I’m so glad the other Magik products share the same scent, I’m very much looking forward to reviewing the rest of this impressive line for you!
