Dream Cream Bath Bomb from Lush

The Dream Cream Bath Bomb is a brand-new product from the 2024 World Bath Bomb Day collection.

The Dream Cream bath bomb looks just like previous Epsom salt bath bombs such as the Deep Sleep Magnesium bath bomb. It isn’t the only Epsom salt bath bomb from the 2024 World Bath Bomb Day collection either, the Cold Water Soother bath bomb is also currently available.

Epsom salt is a very popular ingredient that people add to their bath water to help with muscle pain and deep relaxation.

Even though I don’t exercise as much as I’d like to due to illness, I do get a lot of muscle pain so anything Epsom salt orientated is right up my street.

The Dream Cream bath bomb was inspired by Lush’s bestselling Dream Cream body lotion. The lotion equivalent of the Deep Sleep bath bomb is a favourite amongst customers with troubled skin as it is so gentle and soothing.

The Dream Cream bath bomb is cube shaped, one half of it is blue and the other half is white.

Each Dream Cream bath bomb is approximately 160g so a little lighter than the Epsom salt bath bombs that were released previously. To look at, they however look the same size.

The Dream Cream bath bomb contains Epsom salts, fine ground oatmeal, fair trade organic cocoa butter, rose absolute, chamomile blue oil, tea tree oil and lavender oil.

Dream Cream’s scent is as gentle as its ingredients, you can just make out the chamomile and lavender, it also has a slight oaty layer to its scent too.

Each ingredient is not just soothing on your skin but also has positive effects on your mood which in turn promotes calmness and relaxation.

As soon as the Dream Cream bath bomb touches your bath water you are greeted with a loud hiss. The blue and white parts of the bath bomb spill out of it, slowly changing the colour of your bath water to a light blue.

After just a few seconds the bath bomb sinks to the bottom of your bath and blue blobs of cocoa butter float to the top. When bath bombs sink like this, I like to let the bubbles tickle my back.

What surprised me about the Dream Cream bath bomb was the amount of cocoa butter in it. I didn’t realise quite how much it did have in it until the blue blobs of it floated to the water surface.

I should have known it would be super-cocoa-buttery as, it wouldn’t be a part of the Dream Cream family had it not been…

Like the other Epsom salt bath bombs, Dream Cream is a very quick dissolver and doesn’t create any bath art.

After just two minutes, all that is left of the Dream Cream are the chunks of cocoa butter that haven’t quite melted yet. I suspect the chunks would have melted a lot quicker for me if the bath water was at a higher temperature.

With it being so hot in the UK right now I didn’t have a red hot bath like I normally would so keep this in mind when you use it.

I feel that, like the Butterball bath bomb, if you want to make the most out of the cocoa butter in the Dream Cream bath bomb, it is best used in a hot as you can stand it bath. Although, if you do use it in a cooler bath it will be just as soothing, the butters just won’t be as melted.

The scent was more or less, non-existent by the end of the bath, but my skin felt fabulous and well soothed even without the bath water being super-hot!

Salted Caramel Lip Scrub from Lush

The main ingredient in all of Lush’s lip scrubs is caster sugar. To this day I am still lost for words that such a simple and natural mix of ingredients can do such a great job at exfoliating. It really does make me question why other cosmetic companies ever actively chose to use micro-plastics in their exfoliation products.

Lush’s lip scrubs are ridiculously underrated, if you’re on the fence about giving them a go I promise you, you will not be disappointed.

Today I am going to be reviewing the Salted Caramel Lip Scrub that first appeared in August 2021’s Lush Kitchen Subscriptions box and is where the now very famous, Sticky Dates Lush-scent-family all began!

I use Lush lip scrubs almost every day so whenever a new one comes out, I always make sure I grab a pot.

Using Lush lip scrubs requires a minimum amount of effort, and they cover everything your lips need to always look and feel their best.

They are the perfect product to exfoliate dry or chapped lips, and most are also very good at softening and hydrating them at the same time. Exfoliating your lips has so many benefits and thanks to Lush, it has never been easier to do.

As well as caster sugar, the Salted Caramel lip scrub also contains some of the following ingredients: Organic jojoba oil, fairtrade shea butter, golden caster sugar, extra fine sea salt, sandalwood oil, carob resinoid, benzoin resinoid, argan oil, cocoa powder and paprika.

Other products that share the same scent as the Salted Caramel lip scrub are the Sticky Dates shower gelSticky Dates Co-Mingle body scrubSticky Dates body spraySticky Dates sugar scrub and Sticky Dates body lotion… Just to name a few!

To use, simply scoop out a little of the lip scrub with your finger then buff it on your lips. Once you’ve buffed them to your desired amount simply lick off any excess product.

Lush’s lip scrubs are obviously not meant to be eaten; BUT if a little amount of the Salted Caramel lip scrub does by accident end up in your mouth while you are scrubbing your lips, you don’t need to worry.

I tend to favour the lighter or more natural to actual lip-colour lip scrubs over the brightly coloured ones because I find that the highly pigmented scrubs can sometimes leave your lips with a slight tint of whatever colour the lip scrub is.

I am however pleased to report that during use, I haven’t had any colour transfer from the Salted Caramel lip scrub at all. Not that, that would be a huge problem though as it’s very similar looks wise to brown sugar, with hardly any pigment.

Even though I’m usually not a huge fan of super sweet Lush products, I do actually like the smell/taste of the Salted Caramel lip scrub. It’s not the same, sickly-sweet as the Bubblegum lip scrub. It’s just like sticky toffee pudding, I can’t get enough!

A little amount of the Salted Caramel lip scrub goes a long way and it’s the perfect amount of scrubby. The grains in it are about the same size of sugar granules.

After using the Salted Caramel lip scrub my lips feel smoother and I also find the formula quite hydrating, I however wouldn’t say no to a Salted Caramel/Sticky Dates scented lip balm to add to the hydration… Please release one, Lush?

Overall, I love the Salted Caramel lip scrub and am eager to see what Sticky Dates scented products Lush come up with next!

Cold Water Soother Bath Bomb from Lush

The Cold Water Soother Bath Bomb is a brand-new product from the 2024 World Bath Bomb Day collection and is the first ever Lush bath bomb specifically designed to be used in cool water.

The Cold Water Soother looks just like previous Epsom salt bath bombs such as the Deep Sleep Magnesium bath bomb and Salt Water Soother bath bomb.

Epsom salt is very popular to use in hot baths to help with muscle pain, even though I don’t exercise as much as I’d like due to illness, I do get a lot of muscle pain. I have never however used a product with Epsom salt in, in a cold bath before. In fact, I’ve never had a cold bath before!

While the Cold Water Soother bath bomb was designed to be used in a cold bath, I compromised and used it in a lukewarm bath instead…

I was told it’s fine to use this product in a hot bath too if that’s what I really wanted to do, but I decided to meet Lush halfway opting for a lukewarm bath for the purpose of this review. With the weather being so hot in the UK right now there was no better time for me to give Cold Water Soother a try.

The Cold Water Soother bath bomb is cube shaped, one half of it is an orangey-yellow and the other half is white.

Each Cold Water Soother bath bomb is approximately 160g so a little lighter than the Epsom salt bath bombs that I mentioned above. To look at they however look the same size.

The Cold Water Soother bath bomb contains Epsom salts, fine sea salt, cedar leaf oil, cypress oil, eucalyptus oil, dark Sumatran patchouli oil and geosmin; Geosmin being the star of the show…

Geosmin is the compound responsible for the sweet, earthy smell of falling rain. It is believed to have positive effects on your mood which in turn promotes calmness and relaxation.

Cold Water Soother’s scent is incredibly unique, it smells just like soil after it has rained, with notes of enlivening eucalyptus too.

If you shut your eyes, it’s easy to imagine that you’re not in the bath and are in fact, taking a dip in a freshwater lake in a lush green forest.

As soon as the Cold Water Soother touches your bath water you are greeted with a loud hiss. The orangey-yellow part of the bath bomb spills out orange, slowly changing the colour of your bath water.

After just a few seconds the bath bomb sinks to the bottom of your bath. When bath bombs sink like this, I like to let the bubbles tickle my back. There’s something so relaxing about it!

Like the other Epsom bath bombs, the Cold Water Soother is a very quick dissolver and doesn’t create any bath art.

The best part about Cold Water Soother is its scent, I really hope this isn’t the last that we see of this fragrance, I’d love to try it in different product formats, a shower gel or perfume would be incredible.

After just four minutes, all that is left of the Cold Water Soother are the chunks of salt at the bottom of the bath, I suspect the chunks of salt would dissolve quicker if the bath water was at a higher temperature.

The Cold Water Soothers scent engulfs your bathroom from the moment the bath bomb touches your bath water.

The smell of freshly fallen rain is just as relaxing as any lavender based scent. With the Cold Water Soother in town, who needs lavender and chamomile based bath bombs to wind down?

My skin lapped up the rich with magnesium’s Cold Water Soothers water. Tense muscles quickly relax, and my skin is still super soft 24 hours after using it. The scent lasted on my skin for a good eight hours too.

Overall, I loved everything about the Cold Water Soother bath bomb and I’m glad I tried it in a lukewarm bath instead of my usual red hot.

Its scent is the perfect escape of the stresses of everyday life. A soak in a Cold Water Soother bath left my mind feeling lighter and calmer.

After one of the most stressful weeks of my life due to my cat being poorly, I couldn’t have used the Cold Water Soother at a better time.
