Snow Fairy Bath Bomb from Lush

The Snow Fairy Bath Bomb was first released as a limited edition Christmas product back in the Winter of 2019.

With the Snow Fairy scent being so popular and featuring in copious amounts of products year-in-year-out, I wasn’t at all surprised to see that the Snow Fairy bath bomb had made a return in the Winter 2020 line.

As shown in the photograph above, the Snow Fairy bath bomb has 2 sides, each has a different variation of the same shaped and sized snowflake.

One side is pink with a bright-white embossed snowflake and the other side of it is the same bright-white with a shimmery ice-blue embossed snowflake.

After Lush decided to retire their jelly bombs, the Snow Fairy bath bomb was created to fill the void that the discontinued Snow Fairy jelly bomb created.

I didn’t dislike the Snow Fairy jelly bomb but I have to say I much prefer this bath bomb version. I like that it’s a stereotypical standard bath bomb, plain and uncomplicated.

My first experience with the Snow Fairy scent was through its shower gel; The Snow Fairy scent is best described as a sweet blend of candy floss and bubblegum.

I don’t always favour the super-sweet-scented Lush products however with the Snow Fairy scent featuring heavily in so many of Lush’s products, it’s almost impossible to avoid, especially in the Winter.

Over the years I have warmed to the scent, the fact that all-things-Snow-Fairy are bright pink (my favourite colour) really helped me warm to the fragrance too. 😉

Immediately after the Snow Fairy bath bomb is placed in the water, you are greeted with a hot pink explosion of fizzing bubbles.

It slowly starts to spin, dancing around the bath creating beautiful bright pink and white patterns on the surface of the water.

It is a fairly slow fizzer, giving you plenty of time to admire the bath art it creates.

Once the Snow Fairy bath bomb is fully dissolved you are left with silky-smooth, hot-pink water decorated with a plastic-free shimmer.

A good soak in a Snow Fairy bath doesn’t dry out my skin at all. I wouldn’t however describe it as hugely moisturising, if you enjoy the scent I recommend that you use the Snow Fairy body conditioner with it too.

This way you don’t mask the Snow Fairy scent with something completely different AND your skin gets an extra bit of added hydration.

Once out of the bath the Snow Fairy scent remains on your skin but is a lot less intense.

If you’re after bath art, the Snow Fairy bath bomb would be a good choice to go for. My photos in this review do the bath bomb no justice at all. I had several other photos I could have added to the review but I think the 7 in this post are more than enough to include in just one review!

Overall I really do like the Snow Fairy bath bomb and suspect that it will be released in Lush’s Christmas line every year for years to come.

Orange Shower Scrub from Lush

The Orange Shower Scrub started off as a 2020, Christmas-line exclusive. It however became popular very quickly, so-much-so that Lush decided to make it an all-year-round product within just a few weeks of its release.

If you enjoy using the Brightside bubble bar then you’ll enjoy using the Orange shower scrub too. Brightside shares the same uplifting and zing-elicious fragrance as the Orange shower scrub, When I’m groggy and tired I can’t help but reach for it in the shower on a cold Winters morning.

To use the Orange shower scrub all you have to do is scoop out a small amount, you then work the scrub into your skin in circular motions making sure to pay extra attention to any dry patches you may have such as your knees and elbows.

Orange shower scrub can be used on both wet and dry skin; For a gentle scrubbing experience I’d recommend using it on wet skin and for a more intense scrub, I’d use it on dry skin followed by you getting in and rinsing it off in the shower.

A very small amount of the Orange shower scrub goes a very long way making it excellent value for money. As much as I love a heavy duty scrub I do prefer using the Orange shower scrub on wet skin, I find that when used alongside water it gives my skin just the right amount of hydration as it does scrubbiness.

Containing Sicilian mandarin, bergamot and tangerine essential oils, the Orange shower scrub is jam packed with vitamin C, it not only gives me an energy boost but also leaves my skin perfectly buffed as well as appearing much brighter.

Consistency wise I’d compare the Orange shower scrub to a mixture of the Rub Rub Rub and Magic Crystals shower scrubs. It’s not quite as silky to touch as Rub Rub Rub but has the chunkier salt crystals in like the Magic Crystals shower scrub does.

While the Orange shower scrub isn’t my favourite of the Lush shower scrubs that are currently available, it has been nice to experience a scrub in a different scent. I can see why it has sold so well and can see it doing well in the foreseeable future too. I for one would be a lot happier to receive a pot of this in my Christmas stocking rather than a satsuma! 😉

Tick-Tock Bath Bomb from Lush

The Tick-Tock Bath Bomb is a brand new product created for Lush’s Christmas 2020 line. Strangely, it’s inspired by a robot character in one of the creepiest films that I ever watched as a child, the Return to Oz.

For the people that are fans of the Winter products that aren’t in-your-face Christmassy, Tick-Tock might be the perfect item from the Christmas line for you.

The Tick-Tock bath bomb is about the same size as the Ickle Baby Bot bath bomb, although it is a little chunkier, think of it as Ickle Baby Bot after hitting the gym. Bright orange and decorated with golden glitter Tick-Tock almost glows in amongst all of the other Winter products.

Containing sweet cinnamon, sweet wild orange, cassia and neroli oil, Tick-Tock has a very dominating citrus scent. When the bath bomb is in my hand and not in the water I can really detect the bitterness of the neroli oil and didn’t understand why everyone kept comparing its fragrance to the Brightside bubble bar.

As soon as the Tick-Tock bath bomb hits the water the bitterness of its scent fades away, The sweet wild orange then takes the lead and although the aforementioned Brightside bubble bar doesn’t contain sweet wild orange it is at this point that I see the resemblance between the two products.

As the uplifting and super refreshing orange fragrance fills your bathroom the bath bomb fizzles away, you are then greeted with another surprise. Popping candy!

The Tick-Tock bath bomb doesn’t take long to dissolve but the popping candy pops away for a good 5 minutes after the robot figure has fully dissolved. If you’re not used to using bath bombs with popping candy in get ready for a most spectacular bathing experience… It’s a bath time I promise you’ll never forget.

Once the popping candies show comes to an end you are left with shimmering, bright orange bath water. Its consistency and how it smells really reminds me of unset orange-flavoured-jelly. The water is really silky, and feels ever so slightly thicker than just water. My skin basks in its cheeriness.

Overall I am really impressed with the Tick-Tock bath bomb, when I first see its smaller size I didn’t expect very much from it at all thinking of it as more of a novelty product more than anything, I however really enjoyed using it.

There wasn’t any bath art but the scent, feel of the water once it had dissolved and the popping candy well made up for no bath art. A soak in a Tick-Tock bath left me feeling warm, refreshed, calm and content.

Its scent also stayed on my skin for the best part of the rest of the day which often isn’t the case with such heavily based citrus products. If you’re looking to bring some brightness and cheer into your bathroom this Winter, then look no further than the Tick-Tock bath bomb!
