Yummy Yummy Yummy Shower Gel from Lush

Up until the release of the Lush Kitchen June 2023 box, Lush’s Yummy Yummy Yummy Shower Gel had never been available in a vegan formula before.

Back when the Lush Kitchen did weekly menus, the Yummy Yummy Yummy shower gel was always fiercely popular, I’m surprised it took Lush up until subscription box 37 to include it as an item.

Although, the delay is likely to have been caused by the fact that every item included in the subscription boxes are now strictly vegan. I suspect that the delay was because quite a lot of tinkering had to be done to get a vegan version of Yummy Yummy Yummy just right…

Back at the 2016 Lush Creative Showcase there was a tower of the Yummy Yummy Yummy shower gel stacked high within their Lush Kitchen room. I do miss Lush events, there truly is no other day out like it!

The Yummy Yummy Yummy shower gel is a very light pink and shares its scent with the Peeping Santa bubble bar. Its scent is also fairly similar to the one used in the Roller bath bomb and Yummy Mummy shower cream.

I think both Roller and Yummy Mummy are slightly less sweet strawberry scents in comparison to Yummy Yummy Yummy but I can see why so many people say that they are in fact all a part of the same Lush-scent-family.

The Yummy Yummy Yummy shower gel is a very watery formula, I recommend giving it a good shake before using it. I was hoping that with it being an all-new vegan formula it would be a little thicker than the old vegetarian version BUT it seems both are just as runny as each other.

Even though the Yummy Yummy Yummy shower gel is quite thin it’s still a very good shower gel. You have to be careful when you do use it, as it’s quite easy to waste with it being so runny BUT a very small amount goes a long way making it excellent value for money.

Yummy Yummy Yummy contains a long list of ingredients; it has fresh strawberry infusion, fine sea salt and the following essential oils; Bergamot, olibanum, geranium, almond and organic pressed passion seed.

The Yummy Yummy Yummy shower gels captivating scent is best described as just like a bowl of freshly sliced strawberries sprinkled with icing sugar.

The scent of the shower gel quickly fills your bathroom and remains in the air and on your skin, long after you’ve got out of the shower. After use, my skin is left feeling clean, more hydrated, and silky-smooth to the touch.

I am devastated that the Yummy Yummy Yummy shower gel was only available to customers subscribed to the Lush Kitchen boxes. I feel that now Lush do have it in a vegan formula it would sell really well in stores, maybe it could be a Valentine’s or Mother’s Day item next year? Hint, hint, Lush!

Overall I am very impressed with the Yummy Yummy Yummy shower gel and I have my fingers crossed that we will see it again soon!

Welcome Bath Bomb from Lush

Lush believe that all people should enjoy freedom of movement across the world, wherever refugees come from and however they got here, Lush believe that all are WELCOME. Enter the creation of the Welcome Bath Bomb!

Lush have partnered with Refugee Action, a long-established independent charity who have supported refugees and people seeking asylum since 1981.

All proceeds for the sales of the Welcome bath bomb minus the VAT will go directly to Refugee Action allowing for them to continue their work supporting people and providing expert advice and guidance to those struggling to navigate the asylum system in the UK. You can learn more about Refugee Action by clicking here.

The Welcome bath bomb is half blue and half green, its green top has the word ‘Welcome’ etched into it.

The Welcome bath bomb scent is from Lush’s Love scent-family, the most recently released products that share the same scent are the Love shower gel and Love body spray.

If you’ve been a Lushie for quite some time you may also remember the same scent featuring in the legendary Fizzbanger bath bomb too.

The Welcome bath bomb contains the following essential oils, bergamot, lavender, and lemongrass.

My nose mostly picks up on the lemongrass and bergamot oil in it. It smells sweet with a pinch of spice and a mix of very sharp yet musky citrus.

On Lush’s website the Welcome bath bombs scent is described as being a soft scent, I have to disagree; I feel as if any products from the Love scent-family always seem to take over any room that it is in. The scent does soften with time but in my opinion, it is very powerful.

As soon as the Welcome bath bomb comes into contact with your bath water the blue and green halves begin to gently fizz away.

The Welcome bath bomb isn’t a foamy bath bomb so you do not get much bath art from it. Welcome doesn’t take long to dissolve either.

After about 4 minutes of it fizzing away it’s gone. Leaving you plenty of time to sit back and relax in its waters.

The water left behind by the Welcome bath bomb is a beautiful shade of turquoise blue, it is soft and warming on the skin.

Its scent is still incredibly powerful right up until the last drop goes down your plug hole.

Hydration wise my skin loves the Welcome bath bomb. I can still smell it on my skin for several hours after getting out of the bath too.

Inside the Welcome bath bomb is a hidden paper insert. On it is the message ‘Welcome, come on a journey’ with a QR code, if you use your phones camera to scan the QR code it will take you to follow a refugee’s journey from their home countries as they try to find safety and asylum in the UK.

Overall, I really enjoyed using the Welcome bath bomb, I love the charity work that Lush do and how they give a voice and platform to those that need to be heard and helped.

If you can, please go buy yourself a Welcome bath bomb, it’s for a great cause!

Asteroid City Shower Gel from Lush

At the time of writing this review Lush’s most recent collaboration has been with the Asteroid City movie, Lush X Asteroid City. The line was released at the same time as the science-fiction film hit cinemas in both the UK and USA.

Unfortunately, my local cinema closed its doors permanently, so I still haven’t had a chance to see the movie, I’ll be waiting for it to be released for in-home-viewing now BUT that hasn’t stopped me from trying out all of the products in the small but impressive, Asteroid City line!

Just like the Mario and Luigi shower gels from the Lush X Super Mario Bros. collab, the Asteroid City Shower Gel is a remake of an old Lush shower gel. If you were lucky enough to have tried the Very Very Frightening shower gel from Lush’s 2020 Halloween line, you’ll recognise that both it and the Asteroid City shower gel share the same scent.

The Asteroid bath bomb that is also a part of the Lush X Asteroid City line also shares the same scent so are perfect to use together.

While the Asteroid City shower gel shares a scent with the Very Very Frightening shower gel, that is all that the 2 shower gels have in common. The Asteroid City shower gel is a beautiful shade of teal, it’s a deep greeny-blue that has the finest golden shimmer in it. It matches its label and the movies promotional posters perfectly.

Consistency wise, the Asteroid City shower gel is runnier than the most recently released shower gels, but this isn’t a bad thing, I recommend giving it a good shake before you use it as this thickens it ever so slightly. A small amount of the shower gel goes a long way.

Asteroid City contains, grapefruit, bergamot and almond oils. The bottle describes its scent as an ‘nostalgic scent of blackcurrant’ but to me its fragrance has always made me think of raspberries.

The scent of the Asteroid City shower gel is at its best when it comes together with the hot water and steam of your shower. Its scent is sherbet-sweet and mouth-wateringly good. The gel lathers up quickly and the fruity scent remains on my skin long after I have stepped out of the shower.

After use, my skin is left feeling super-clean, perfectly hydrated, and silky-smooth to the touch. I’m always honest in my reviews and I hate to say this but I was asked several times which shower gel I preferred out of Asteroid City and Very Very Frightening and on this occasion, I have to say I preferred Very Very Frightening.

This doesn’t mean that I haven’t enjoyed using the Asteroid City shower gel, it’s always lovely to revisit old scents in new products. I just preferred the colour and consistency of Very Very Frightening.
