Sultana Body Lotion from Lush

Anything that shares its scent with my beloved and very much discontinued Blackberry bath bomb is a must have product for me. I’m actually getting bored of hearing myself explain this in every Blackberry/Sultana scented product review that I do so I will be as brief as possible.

Before the Blackberry bath bomb was discontinued it was my go-to-product if my insomnia decided to pay me a visit. To this day products with the Blackberry/Sultana scent are the only non medicinal things in the world that actually help me fall and stay asleep, I therefore hold anything with its scent with very high regards, grabbing anything and everything Lush create, if and when I can.

Sultana Body Lotion was recently in the Lush Kitchen alongside several other body lotions made in the most popular Lush scents. At first I wasn’t going to order any Sultana body lotion as I have a huge bottle of the body conditioner equivalent in my bathroom. Of course I changed my mind, (stating the obvious) they are both completely different products… In hindsight I am so pleased that I did get the lotion as I actually really like the Blackberry scent in this format. Its scent is exactly like the Blackberry bath bomb.

Consistency wise I think the Sultana body lotion is perfect, it’s not too thick and it’s not too runny. It has a beautifully smooth texture that is a similar consistency to a petit filous yogurt. As with most Lush products, a little amount of it goes a very long way. With it not being too thick a formula the Sultana body lotion rubs in easily, something I love in a body lotion. There’s nothing worse than a body lotion that takes ages to rub in!

Once put on, Sultana body lotion leaves my skin feeling perfectly hydrated and appearance wise much brighter, even the dry patches of my skin such as my elbows look and feel smooth. Its scent is also still detectable on my skin hours after using it, this is of course a huge bonus for me. There’s just something so relaxing about Lush’s ‘Blackberry’ signature-blend-of bergamot and frankincense oils.

One thing I have noticed is that Sultana body lotion doesn’t soak in to your skin very quickly, as I said above a little does go a long way so this isn’t a huge issue. Less is more and all that! Overall I am really impressed with the Sultana body lotion, I hope that Lush decide to bring it out again as it’s the perfect product format for the Blackberry scent.

The World’s Smallest Disco Bath Bomb from Lush

The World's Smallest Disco Bath BombThe World’s Smallest Disco Bath Bomb is brand new to Lush this year (2018). Although it isn’t obvious upon first glance, it is in fact a product from Lush’s Winter collection. I decided to start my Winter reviews with the, The World’s Smallest Disco bath bomb as it’s a product that doesn’t scream the C word; CHRISTMAS.

I have heard some people say a lot of this years Winter line isn’t Christmassy enough, I’m afraid I’m on team Scrooge and disagree, Winter is about so much more than just Christmas, Autumn too. The less Christmassy the better for me, especially when it’s only just turned October… There’s plenty of time for all things Christmas once we reach December!

Over the last few years Lush have designed and released several black coloured products, in 2017 we were introduced to the brand new Secret Arts jelly bomb and Bewitched bubble bar too. Back then myself and my very white bath were naturally wary about bathing in the darkest of black bath-water and this was the case for many others which is why I guess Lush hadn’t made many (if any), black-bathing products previously.

Regardless of my wariness, I did give both of the aforementioned black products a go and even though I thought I wouldn’t enjoy either, I in fact REALLY enjoyed both.

As you can see from the above photographs the, The World’s Smallest Disco bath bomb is yet another black product. Seeing as I had enjoyed both Secret Arts and Bewitched I had an open mind about the, The World’s Smallest Disco. It has a similar design to the Luxury Lush Pud bath bomb (the multicoloured bath bomb discs that decorate it). Designed to look just like a disco ball you can’t help but feel drawn to it.

The World’s Smallest Disco bath bomb contains several uplifting and feel-good ingredients. Persian lime and grapefruit oil leave not only your skin feeling refreshed but also your mind too. Just like the Golden Wonder bath bomb, The World’s Smallest Disco also contains cognac oil, this gives its bitter citrus scent a warming edge.

I don’t like to complain but I can’t help but mention the steep price of The World’s Smallest Disco, I don’t normally go into pricing in my reviews but it’s currently available at just over £5. For £5 I want the bath bomb to sing and dance, I assume this price is because of the cognac oil as Golden Wonder has gone up in price a huge amount too. I did say in previous reviews from 2017 that I’d begrudge spending anymore than £4.95 on a single use product, I am therefore a little disappointed that this bath bomb is so expensive.

I do however completely appreciate Lush’s ethics and the fact that cruelty free ingredients do cost more to source etc, I am just a little taken back as it’s a lot more than I had expected. To warrant me buying any more it really had to be an all singing, all dancing, bath time extravaganza.

As soon as the, The World’s Smallest Disco comes into contact with the bath water there is an explosion of silver/grey foam. As the bath bomb dances around your bath, spewing lime scented foam, the multicoloured bath bomb discs slowly come loose from the bath bomb, just as the ones in Luxury Lush Pud do. Once it’s fully dissolved you are left with pitch black bath water decorated with multicoloured dots. It reminds me of a starry nights sky on a clear night, (if stars were multicoloured anyway.)

The scent of the bath bomb diminishes somewhat after it’s dissolved and doesn’t last the whole bath. A soak in a World’s Smallest Disco bath does however leave my skin feeling soft and refreshed, which is a trait I really like a bath bomb to have. At the end of the bath it also all went down the plug hole with no fuss. There was no mess at all, as long as your bath is clean and doesn’t have any soap scum on it prior to using this bath bomb you’ll be fine, even with its dark colour.

Overall I did thoroughly enjoy using this bath bomb, the price does however put me off a little, it’s one I would like to use again but will be saving for special occasions only because of how expensive it is.

I’m Forever Blowing Bubbles Reusable Bubble Bar from Lush

I'm Forever Blowing Bubbles Reusable Bubble BarThe I’m Forever Blowing Bubbles Reusable Bubble Bar is the craziest bubble bar that Lush have created thus far, which is rather an absurd claim that I am about to explain. As well as working like an ordinary reusable bubble bar, I’m Forever Blowing Bubbles can also be used to blow bubbles too. (Just in case its name didn’t give that fun-fact away.)

Designed in the shape of the bubble wand that you find in the kids bubble bottles, using it is like revisiting your childhood but so much better because its so much bigger!

I’m Forever Blowing Bubbles comes in just the one colour, a bright green. I’d love to see more ‘bubble blowing wands’ coming out in  alternative colours and scents. That last statement from myself lets on very early into this review that I’m really impressed with I’m Forever Blowing Bubbles, sorry to kill the suspense… 😉

I’m Forever Blowing Bubbles started its life as a Lush Labs product, it however proved so popular that it is now available in both stores and online. Containing Sicilian lemon, lime and grapefruit oil the green water and fluffy white bubbles created by I’m Forever Blowing Bubbles is a zingy, super refreshing experience.

It doesn’t share its scent with another Lush product but after using it I feel the same as I do after a long soak in a Brightside bubble bath; Ready to take on the world.

I’m Forever Blowing Bubbles isn’t just for kids BUT it is hugely popular with them. It’s an excellent way to get reluctant kids and adults into a bath tub. My husband does a very strenuous job and I am always telling him to have a bath to help with his back, now that I’m Forever Blowing Bubbles is a permanent fixture in Lush he’s been more than happy to swap the shower for a bath once a week. We’re all big kids at heart!

The above photo is of my husband trying out I’m Forever Blowing Bubbles for the first time. To use as a bubble blowing wand, simply dip it in and out of your bath water then blow through the hole. The last couple of Lush reusable bubble bars that I have reviewed have really upped their game when it comes down to colour vibrancy, I’m Forever Blowing Bubbles included. The water it creates is a beautiful shade of green, shaming the likes of the Santasaurus reusable bubble bars’ icky, pond-water-green finale by miles.

I’m Forever Blowing Bubbles immediately starts to tint your water as soon as it is placed under the running tap, fluffy white bubbles then follow suit. A little goes a long way with I’m Forever Blowing Bubbles, I’ve used it 4 times so far and it’s still going strong, the colour has lightened somewhat in-between uses, rather than excessive use, I think it’s because where I leave my products to dry in-between uses has been a lot sunnier than normal due to our (now much missed) heatwave of Summer 2018.

the Sicilian lemon, lime and grapefruit oil are apparent through out the whole of your bath, the bubbles do start to melt away but after a good 20 minutes soak there were still plenty of them which is another surprise as most other reusable bubble bars have no bubble-staying-power at all.

I didn’t find I’m Forever Blowing Bubbles’ water to be quite as hydrating as I would like in a bubble bath, it did however revive and brighten my skin which is just what is needed now the weather is turning colder.

Overall I am very, very impressed with the I’m Forever Blowing Bubbles reusable bubble bar. It’s such a clever design and idea. It brings a little excitement and fun back into bathing, it’s one of Lush’s best inventions yet. Although it’s not a part of Lush’s Winter 2018 line it will be available for the foreseeable future so is the perfect Christmas gift for someone you want to give something a little different to.
