Golden Egg Shower Gel from Lush

The Golden Egg Shower Gel is a brand-new, limited-edition, Easter product that first became available in the UK at the start of March 2023. Interestingly, Golden Egg isn’t the first shower gel that Lush have released in its scent. You’ll recognise its scent if you’ve ever tried the It’s Raining Men/Honey I Washed the Kids shower gels before.

The difference between the Golden Egg and Honey I Washed the Kids shower gels (apart from the sparklingly obvious) is that Golden Egg is vegan. I am so happy for all of the vegan customers that now get to try this shower gel, it’s been something Lush customers have been asking for, for a very long time.

As you can see from the photographs I have included in this review, the Golden Egg shower gel is the most sparkly shower gel Lush have ever released.

The Golden Egg shower gel is liquid gold, just looking at how bright and sparkly it is in the bottle is mesmerising. The Golden Egg shower gel contains bergamot and Brazilian orange oils, its scent is simply delicious. It’s a sweet honey-like fragrance with hints of caramel. Some products I have reviewed that share its scent are the Shoot for the Stars bath bomb and most recently the Golden Angel bubble bar.

This truly beautiful shower gel isn’t as thick as the other most recent shower gels to have been released by Lush so I recommend giving the bottle a good shake before using it.

Golden Egg shower gel comes out of the bottle easily and a little amount of it goes a long way. You only need the smallest amount of it to wash your whole body. Seeing it so sparkly in your hand, I wouldn’t blame anyone for using a little more than is necessary! I recommend lathering the Golden Egg shower gel up slowly to get the best out of it, it isn’t incredibly foamy, but it cleans your skin with ease.

The Golden Egg shower gels scent really shines through when it comes together with the hot water and steam of your shower. Unfortunately, the scent doesn’t last for very long on your skin after use, BUT it does leave my skin clean, appearing brighter, feeling softer and is also actually quite hydrating.

If you have read my review on the Love shower gel, you’ll know how disappointed I was for all of the UK customers that couldn’t get it in a bottle (Lush UK decided that the UK would only be offered the sphere options). I am thanking the Lush gods that Lush decided to scrap the spheres as I’d have been devastated to miss out on this bottled shower gel.

There has never been a more beautiful shower gel from Lush. It looks, smells, and feels magnificent. It wouldn’t surprise me if Lush decided to retire the Honey I Washed the Kids shower gel only to replace it with the Golden Egg shower gel. I know some people think I’m crazy for getting so excited over a shower gel but it really is so good, I cannot recommend it enough!

Follow The White Rabbit Bath Bomb from Lush

You may be awash with feelings of déjà vu when you look at the Follow The White Rabbit Bath Bomb for several reasons.

The first reason is how similar its design and colourings are to the Winter bath bomb favourite, Snowman Dreaming. The second and third being its mould is the exact same used for the Bouncy Bunny shower jelly and Spring Bunny bath bomb from Lush Easter lines of the past.

Ever since the aforementioned, Snowman Dreaming bath bomb was released a few Winters ago I have hoped Lush would do a similar bunny shaped bath bomb with the Bouncy Bunny scent and for Easter 2021, Lush did!

The Follow The White Rabbit bath bomb is a smaller sized Lush bath bomb, about the same size as an old-style Butterbear or old-style Ickle Baby Bot bath bomb, it fits snuggly in my hand.

All good things come in small packages and what Follow The White Rabbit lacks in size it well makes up for with its scent and performance in the water.

Containing a mix of buchu, bergamot and Sicilian lemon oils, the Follow The White Rabbit bath bomb has a wonderfully refreshing scent that is deliciously moreish. If you’re looking for a pick-me-up bath product, search no more. The Follow The White Rabbit bath bomb will put more than a spring in your step, a good soak in its citrus-waters will leave you cheery and uplifted.

As soon as the Follow The White Rabbit bath bomb comes into contact with water you are greeted with an explosion of colours. Pinks, reds, oranges, yellows, greens and blues shoot out of its left side leaving behind a rainbow-stream of bath bomb foam.

Even though the Follow The White Rabbit bath bomb is small, it’s a reasonably slow fizzer. Giving you more than enough time to appreciate the kaleidoscope of colourful bath art it creates. The bath art is out of this world, my photos in this review do the bath bomb no justice at all.

I enjoyed using the Follow The White Rabbit bath bomb so much that I immediately ordered 2 more straight after using it.

All good things must come to an end and once the Follow The White Rabbit bath bomb has fully dissolved, you are left with milky violet water that softens and lightly fragrances your skin.

Its scent remains on your skin for the best part of the rest of the day. I hope that one day Lush can create a body spray of the Follow The White Rabbit bath bombs fragrance, it’s perfect for the Spring but its wonderfully refreshing scent would work all year round.

The Follow The White Rabbit bath bomb is a must have from this years Easter line, if it doesn’t return year in, year out Lush will be in my bad books!

Eggy Wegg Bath Bomb from Lush

The Eggy Wegg Bath Bomb first featured in 2021’s Easter line, with it being my favourite colour, it was the very first product within the line that caught my eye. Bright pink with 3 fried eggs on its top-half as decoration, it’s hard to not be drawn to it.

Eggy Wegg is similar in design to the Atom Heart Mother bath bomb, instead of 3 clouds the Eggy Wegg bath bomb has its 3 fried eggs. Others have also compared Eggy Wegg to the Shoot for the Stars bath bomb, while both have 3 unique decorations on its top half, unlike Eggy Wegg’s fried eggs, the golden stars in Shoot for the Stars are mini bath melts.

I don’t like the comparison of Eggy Wegg and the aforementioned Shoot for the Stars bath bomb, I find the added bath melts in a bath bomb really do make for a completely different bathing experience. If you’re like me and don’t always enjoy super hydrating baths, then Eggy Wegg is well worth a try.

The Eggy Wegg bath bomb includes ingredients that I wouldn’t ever imagine working together, strangely they do however work. Sicilian lemon and spearmint oil blend together to give Eggy Wegg a fragrance a bit like a big bag of pick-and-mix sweets.

Its scent has a tropical-fruit twang and also a generous helping of invigorating spearmint. Both scents round each other off, it’s a unique scent but one I’d love to see in other product formats in the future.

As soon as the Eggy Wegg bath bomb comes in to contact with the bath water you are greeted with a hiss of hot pink, fizzing bubbles. It doesn’t take long for the beautiful bath art to begin spilling out of the bath bomb, charging around your bath tub.

Pink, yellow and white swirls begin to dance their way around the water surface, creating the most beautiful swirling bath art. The photos I have included in this review do the Eggy Wegg bath bomb no justice at all.

The yellow and pink patterns created by Eggy Wegg clash perfectly, if you’re familiar with the Angels Delight bath bomb, expect the same type of stand-out bright yellow and warm pink bath art.

Once the Eggy Wegg bath bomb has fully dissolved you are left with bright pinky-orange tinted water. The water is silky-smooth and leaves your skin appearing and feeling softer and brighter.

For a bath bomb with a mix of such dominantly scented ingredients (lemon and spearmint) you’d expect its fragrance to be really strong on your skin, it is however a very subtle fragrance, not at all in-your-face. I could see the fragrance working very well in a body lotion format.

Overall I am very much in love with the Eggy Wegg bath bomb, it didn’t smell how I imagined an Easter product to smell but I think that’s what has made it so perfect. I’ll be very sad if this bath bomb doesn’t come back next Easter.
