Integgalactic Bath Bomb from Lush

For Easter 2017, Lush decided to turn some of their most popular regular shaped bath bombs into egg shaped ones. The Integgalactic Bath Bomb is of course an adaptation of Lush’s number 1 best selling bath bomb, Intergalactic.

Apart from its size and shape, the Integgalactic bath bomb is a carbon copy of the Intergalactic bath bomb. I know that a lot of people were disappointed by this years Easter range stating that just changing a bath bombs shape was a cop out effort and I do agree somewhat as 2016’s Easter range was in my opinion much better than this years (2017).

I have however really enjoyed falling back in love with each of the bath bombs through trying their Easter-fied forms, what with all of the new stock always coming out within the Lush Kitchen and all of the seasonal products, I often forget about the permanently stocked products online and in store.

As soon as you place the Integgalactic bath bomb in the bath water it  starts to instantly fizzle away with a foamy, blue hiss. Just like the Intergalactic bath bomb, Integgalactic’s most noticeable ingredient is the peppermint oil. Before I had tried the Intergalactic bath bomb I had no idea on how truly refreshing it is. To this day the scent that Integgalactic shares with Intergalactic is one of the most refreshing that I have come across in any Lush product.

As the Integgalactic ferociously fizzes away yellow, white and pink streaks begin to slowly dance across the water surface in a light foam too.

The Integgalactic bath bomb is ever so slightly bigger than its original ball shaped design so it takes a little bit longer to fully fizz away which means you get more time to appreciate the pretty bath art it creates.

Once the Integgalactic has fully dissolved you can see exactly why this bath bomb got its name. Inspired by the milky way, the deep blue water glistens just like the stars in a clear nights sky.

As the size and shape of the Integgalactic bath bomb is the only difference between it and the Intergalactic bath bomb I will end this review here. I didn’t want to just copy and paste my review on Intergalactic as they are still two different products in some aspects.

Groovy Kind of Love Bath Bomb from Lush

The Groovy Kind of Love Bath Bomb was one of the first products (exclusive to the Lush Summit) to catch my eye. With it being so very colourful I don’t think many people could resist picking at least one up for themselves. The best way I can describe the Groovy Kind of Love bath bomb is with the phrase, ‘it radiates rainbows.’

On appearance alone, the Groovy Kind of Love bath bomb easily outshines some of Lush’s most memorable and colourful bath bombs from the past and present such as; Granny Takes A Dip, Somewhere Over the Rainbow and The Experimenter bath bomb. All I can think of when looking at it is the 1960’s and the fictional character, Austin Powers.

Scent wise, The Groovy Kind of Love bath bomb is not what I had expected at all. Containing a mixture of patchouli and neroli oil the Groovy Kind of Love bath bomb has quite an acquired taste (or should I say scent) It has a very peppery and grounding aroma, the addition of the neroli oil makes it a little less spicy than other patchouli products I have tried, this twang of sweetness is what makes Groovy Kind of Love really stand out to me.

As soon as the Groovy Kind of Love bath bomb hits the water there is of course an explosion of colours. Blue, pink, purple, orange and yellow froth spill out of the bath bomb creating mounds of colourful bubbles. Once in the water it reminds me of another fictional character, Elmer the Patchwork Elephant. I know this isn’t exactly relevant to the review of this bath bomb but I love how a Lush product can bring back so many forgotten memories!

The bath bomb spins and spins, spurting out patches of different coloured bubbles, you find yourself under what looks like a blanket of patch work bubbles. Groovy Kind of Love is however a very quick fizzer so capturing any ‘bath art’ isn’t easy for someone slow like me.

The good thing about it being so quick to fizz up is the colour it turns the water once it has all gone. I know that a lot of people are disappointed by the end result of the most colourful bath bombs especially from the likes of the, The Experimenter bath bomb. I’m not quite sure what the people that are disappointed expect though, it’s inevitable that all of those bright colours mixed together will only end in one way, murky. Groovy Kind of Love’s colouring is however less bright. Each shade of colour it has is a light pastel shade.

Many people thought this bath bomb would end the same way as the, The Experimenter bath bomb, its pastel colours however save the day. The water turns a warm orange, which is far more desirable than the grey and murky water left behind  by the, The Experimenter bath bomb.

A Groovy Kind of Love bath leaves me feeling relaxed and toasty. Its slight spiciness really helps soothe tired and aching muscles and although products with patchouli oil in aren’t usually my favourite, I can make an exception for good old Groovy. It’s not my favourite of the Lush Summit exclusives but I do still recommend trying it.

Unfortunately the Groovy Kind of Love bath bomb was only available at the February 2017 Lush Summit. There has been no mention of it coming out again which makes me a little sad for all of the people that didn’t get to try it. With Lush Cosmetics you never say never though, one day they might just bring it back! *fingers crossed*

Yellow Submarine Bath Bomb from Lush

Although I didn’t get to go to the Lush Summit back in February a few of my Lush friends managed to grab me most of the bits available. It was unadulterated torture seeing everyone uploading all of the beautiful photographs taken over those 2 days on Instagram. The Lush Showcase was one of the best days of my life and I was so heartbroken at the fact I couldn’t make it to the Summit. I am so thankful for my friends for grabbing me as much as they could, thank you!

I’m still missing a few items from that event. Lush, if you’re reading this PLEASE have a Lush Kitchen week of them soon, you know you want to. 😉

The amount of new products that were showcased at the Lush Summit left me ridiculously overwhelmed, I didn’t know what to obsess over first, the Yellow Submarine Bath Bomb looked like a good one to start on though…

The Yellow Submarine bath bomb shares its scent with Lush’s Big Calm shower jelly, it smells just like piña colada and makes me think of dropping everything and just jetting off on a sunny holiday. Sadly sharing a bath with the Yellow Submarine is the closest I’m going to be getting to a holiday for the foreseeable future, it isn’t quite the same as a holiday but it will suffice for now.

As soon as you place the Yellow Submarine into the bath water, bright yellow froth spurts out of it, after a short while the froth slows right down, with it still floating the bath bomb slowly starts to charge itself around the bath tub, its pink rudder leaving a trail of pink in amongst all of the yellow.

Eventually the Yellow Submarine bath bomb cracks revealing its hot pink innards. The bath art it creates is some of the brightest I’ve ever experienced, it has very similar colouring to the Enchanter and the Over and Over bath bomb, it however just appears so much brighter. I’m not sure if this is because it is actually brighter or if its just because of its summery, fruity ingredients that give off a bright and sunny illusion.

Pink is my favourite colour and watching the pretty patterns unfold was almost as relaxing as the bath itself. The contrasting colours work so well together, I couldn’t help but take hundreds of pictures.

At first I wasn’t too sure of this bath bombs scent, I love how the Big Calm shower jelly smells but the Yellow Submarine’s adaptation of the same scent was significantly stronger.

Once placed in the water the scent however became much more subtle. The scent stays with you throughout the bath and I’m so pleased that it didn’t remain as overpowering as it was when it was fresh out of the Lush bag.

Overall the Yellow Submarine bath bomb is yet again another Lush product that I recommend you try if you ever get the chance. I really hope that Lush Kitchen release it on their menu soon as I know so many people that didn’t manage to get hold of one wanted to give it a go, I promise it’s totally worth the wait!
