NEW 2016 So White Bath Bomb from Lush

So White Bath Bomb NEW When I see that the So White Bath Bomb had, had a makeover I was a little worried as the older version is one of my all time favourites. When presented with the new So White I was relieved to find that its scent remained the same as the original.

The new So White bath bomb is now shaped more like an actual apple. It has an indentation where the apples stalk would be if it was a real apple and also a single green leaf on its top.

One more difference I could see was that instead of also being completely round, the new So White bath bomb now had one flat side making it more stable if put on display. I’m not sure why some bath bombs have this and others don’t as I’ve never thought to ask. 14390736_1843650849197468_354501053512020218_nn Above is a picture of the new So White bath bomb next to its older design. When I got home and compared both of the designs together I noticed that the newer one also felt a little lighter. The old design had quite a sturdy, solid exterior; One that reminds me of a gob stopper.

The new So White however has a much softer and almost dusty shell, which normally means it is coated with Lush’s foaming agent meaning more froth once in the water!

There was only one way to find out if any more had changed so I put my new So White in the bath, camera at the ready.

It instantly began to foam lots and lots of white. The older version after a few seconds would then start to show its pink exterior. After a minute or so I noticed that there was no pink. It was at that point that the bath bomb began to spin, dunking its one green leaf under the water creating one very small puff of apple green foam.

By this point I was wondering if the bath bomb had a coloured center at all. The older version was pink throughout but the newer design seemed to be white all through. Pink is my favourite colour so I was a little disappointed.

Just as I was about to sit back in the bath thinking that the bath bombs show had already finished the bath bomb suddenly spurted out yellows, blues and greens!

The new colours really did surprise me. When you’re used to a soft pink exterior you really are surprised to see other such vibrant colours appear.

The colours hidden inside the new So White bath bomb are similar to those of the Fizzbanger bath bomb. The introduction of these bright and zesty colours well made up for the absence of its previous pink interior.

The scent of this slow dissolving bath bomb like its older design still allowed my imagination to run wild. The sweet scent of fresh, crisp apples will always be welcome in my bathroom.

After getting out of the bath I could still smell the scent of the So White bath bomb on my skin, the new version was just as good scent wise and my skin felt hydrated and super smooth.

I never think it is possible to improve upon perfection but Lush Cosmetics go above and beyond my expectations of perfection every time. The newly redesigned So White bath bomb is yet another new Lush product that’s going to drain my bank account of funds. Will Lush ever release a product I don’t like?!

Christingle Body Conditioner from Lush

Christingle Body Conditioner.png You may be wondering why I have delayed the posting of my review on the Christingle Body Conditioner for so long. I actually got hold of my first batch back in October 2015 so have had access to it for almost a year now, from the first time I used it I loved it, I however came across a small problem…

The problem was that it made me feel so cold. One of my medical conditions makes it hard for me to regulate my own body temperature and when I get cold I am basically part snowflake. Reverse the situation to too hot and I’m basically part sun.

As soon as you open the bathroom door and hit non bathroom air it feels like you’ve plunged into an icy lake, it’s incredibly refreshing but also very, very cold. It’s definitely one to use in the mornings as I can imagine using it at night could wake the dead.

I was gutted but I couldn’t use it anymore, in the winter anyway…

I decided to put my pot of it in the back of my cupboard as I knew it would be the perfect product for me to use throughout the upcoming summer. Months and months seemed to pass, the sun was shining more and more but by July we still hadn’t even got the summer duvet out. Where was SUMMER?

Late July summer finally arrived in the North of England and on the first ridiculously hot day the first thing I dug out (apart from the summer duvet) was last years pot of Christingle.

It has a beautifully smooth texture that is similar in consistency to yogurt with no bits. It is incredibly minty and even in the much warmer month knocks you for six.

I always grab a little and then begin to wash it into my body in a similar way to how you would a shower gel. I however focus a little bit more on the dry patches of my skin as well as the other bits of my skin that had caught a little too much sun. The smallest amount of Christingle soothes my summer tired skin so well, my skin has never felt so silky smooth.

After application you then rinse it off just like you would shower gel too.

The best bit is how tingly it makes your skin feel. During winter I couldn’t cope with that sensation but when it’s summer it helped me stay as cool as a cucumber. Using it not only cooled and soothed my skin but I also noticed it stopped me from sweating as much.

I hope they bring this back as I will be stocking up on more of this, this year as it literally saved my life over the last 6 to 8 weeks. It is perfect for the summer time, I didn’t have one unbearably hot, sleepless night and neither did my boyfriend after he cottoned on to how good Christingle Body Conditioner was… img_5745-1

On one occasion my boyfriend may have got a little bit of Christingle on a bit of his body that he doesn’t really want to feel all cold and tingly… I am sure that the screams coming from our bathroom could be heard for several miles. I am finding it very difficult to not giggle about it even now, it was hilarious.

Ever since that one incident, he hasn’t ever made the same mistake again and I have had only positive feedback in regards to Christingle as well as a shocked face when I said it wasn’t available to buy anymore as it’s a winter only product.

This winter I will most certainly be buying a pot to take on our honeymoon next year, it’s amazing on sun kissed skin. The perfect after-sun, shower treat!

Lord of Misrule Bath Bomb from Lush

Lord of Misrule Bath Bomb

The Lord of Misrule Bath Bomb is a pastel-green, Halloween ballistic that has a strong, musky and spicy herbal scent. Its long list of ingredients contains both patchouli and black pepper oil so it is quite an acquired taste. I am not huge fan of patchouli but I always try a Lush product at least once.

Unlike any other Lush bath bomb, Lord of Misrule has its own unique design. Instead of being smooth all over, this bath bomb has a flower/rounded star shaped crown on its top, this was clearly included in its design to signify its ‘Lord’ status.

As soon as I plopped the Lord of Misrule bath bomb into my bath water the bath bombs colourful and foamy magic unfolded right before my eyes. A huge amount of green froth bubbled up to the top of my bath water and the bath bomb then began to bob around, spinning slowly.

Lord of Misrule’s scent immediately engulfs whatever room it is in, when I had my first one delivered I could smell it before I had even opened the box. I find you can still smell Lord of Misrule hours after it has been removed from a room, it is quite possibly the strongest scented Lush bath bomb I have used to date. With it having such a strong scent I couldn’t quite believe how much its scent intensified once in the water.

I Wasn’t particularly impressed with this as I found the patchouli (the ingredient I don’t always get on with) far too strong even before I’d put it in the bath. I felt as if I was drowning in the scent. I would however like to point out that just because I dislike its scent, it doesn’t mean that you will too.

Although I can’t hack Lord of Misrule’s scent, I will admit to there being something wonderfully mystical about how it performed in the bath, I can see why so many people are head over heels in love with it and its colours.

Unfortunately the Lord of Misrule scent triggers my migraines. Regardless of the migraine trigger, I stayed in the bathroom for as long as I could to get some photos.

The pinks and greens that were spiraling out of the Lord of Misrule bath bomb were creating some of the prettiest bath art I had ever seen.

The pink and green contrast so well, if it wasn’t for its scent I could see myself using it all of the time. Another surprise it had was the addition of popping candy. The popping candy always makes for an interesting bath especially when you aren’t expecting it.

Near the end of the bath bombs bath time show, the hot pink colour overpowers the green turning the bath water a deep-pink, it reminds me of mulled wine.

I am so in love with the water melon coloured foam that Lord of Misrule creates I just wish I could have enjoyed it more. Stupid migraines!
