Co-Mingle Body Scrub from Lush

The Co-Mingle Body Scrub first came out back in March 2022 and has been a staple, all-year-round product ever since. Since its release I have worked my way through several pots. Spoiler alert, I love it!

Co-Mingle is sold in pots of 225g and is described on Lush’s website as a ‘3 in 1 lavender dream’, This is because Co-Mingle isn’t just any old body scrub, it’s a body scrub, moisturiser and body wash.

This 3 in 1 product is the first of its kind from Lush, when I first heard of it, I really didn’t know what to expect but was, as always, keen to give it a go.

The Co-Mingle body scrub is pastel pink and has a fluffy, light, mousse-like texture, it’s really unlike any body scrub Lush have ever released before.

Co-Mingles scent is very similar to the scent of the Deep Sleep bath bomb, it’s not quite the same but close enough for me to warrant mentioning it here. Co-Mingle contains a long list of ingredients, some of those included are, vanilla pod infusion and both lavender and almond oils.

Also included in the ingredients list are ground tagua nut and bamboo, this golden duo is the secret scrubby ingredients that makes Co-Mingle such a good exfoliator.

A very small amount of the Co-Mingle body scrub goes a long way, I however ALWAYS overindulge when using it. I scoop out about 3 fingers worth and that easily does my whole body. I recommend starting off by working it into your skin slowly, this seems to get the most out of it being a scrub, moisturiser, and body wash.

The Co-Mingle body scrubs scent and gentle scrubbiness makes it perfect for me to use of a night-time especially when I struggle with restless legs. The scent calms me down and rubbing it on any part of my body that hurts really does soothe my muscles, it also seems to put an end to my muscles twitching stopping them from keeping me awake.

I mentioned earlier that the Co-Mingle body scrub is a staple, all-year-round product and I am so very grateful for this. From its release, it quickly became one of my favourite Lush products and one I always need to have a pot of.

The only other Lush product that ALWAYS helps me sleep of a night time is the Blackberry bath bomb, I’m devastated that Lush have discontinued it and am terrified that Co-Mingle will also get the chop one day.

The Co-Mingle body scrub truly is a 3 in 1 product, after using it my skin feels smoother, appears brighter and is so incredibly hydrated. There really is no need to moisturise after using it. It also cleans just as good as any shower gel or body wash.

I’m head over heels in love with Co-Mingle, it’s the type of product that made me obsessed with Lush in the first place, it’s gold dust. Anything that helps me feel as good as Co-Mingle does has a permanent place in my bathroom.

Deep Sleep Magnesium Bath Bomb from Lush

Straight after Christmas 2022, Lush released a range of magnesium-based products. The new collection contains 3 magnesium massage bars and 2 Epsom salt bath-bomb-cubes. Today I am reviewing the Deep Sleep Magnesium Bath Bomb.

This new magnesium-based bath bomb is not to be confused with the Deep Sleep bath bomb also currently available. They however, both have the same dreamy scent so if you did enjoy the original Deep Sleep bath bomb, this magnesium version is definitely worth a try.

The magnesium range was created with exercise in mind. Magnesium is said to have many benefits on your body before, during and after exercise. These products have been made to help support exercise performance, recovery and to aid you into getting a more restful sleep. As a wheelchair user, exercise isn’t really my thing but ensuring I get a restful night’s sleep is right up my street!

Epsom salt is very popular to use in hot baths to help with muscle pain, even though I don’t exercise as much as I’d like due to illness, I do get a lot of muscle pain. The Deep Sleep Magnesium bath bomb was therefore, naturally the first product from the new magnesium range that I reached out for.

The Deep Sleep Magnesium bath bomb is cube shaped, 1 half of it is pink and the other is purple. They are approximately 180g each so a little bit smaller than the average sized Lush bath bomb but we all know size doesn’t matter… 😉

The Deep Sleep Magnesium bath bomb contains some of the world’s most relaxing ingredients; Lavender, chamomile and neroli. Its scent is both soothing and relaxing. Scent-wise my nose mostly picks up on the lavender, it’s a very sweet yet herbal scent.

As soon as the Deep Sleep Magnesium bath bomb touches the water you are greeted with a ferocious hiss. The purple and pink colour that spills out of the bath bomb are subtle in comparison to how bright the colours are in the actual bath bomb. I didn’t expect the Deep Sleep Magnesium bath bomb to be very foamy due to the Epsom salt and I was right.

The Deep Sleep scent intensifies and engulfs your bathroom from the moment the bath bomb touches the hot water. Again, due to the salt in the Deep Sleep Magnesium bath bomb it’s a very quick fizzer. Within 2 minutes the bath bomb has fully dissolved. There’s no bath art, this bath bombs star qualities are definitely its scent and how it leaves you feeling both physically and mentally.

My skin lapped up the wonderfully soothing, Deep Sleep Magnesium-infused-waters, it left my skin so incredibly soft and really did make a difference to my tired muscles. Laying back in its waters is like floating on a cloud.

Overall, I loved everything about the Deep Sleep Magnesium bath bomb. Its scent and its ingredients really do leave my muscles feeling lighter and my mind much calmer. Used just before bed it is perfect to help lull you into a truly relaxed state of mind. I’m a terrible sleeper so always grab products like this to use of an evening.

If you’re chasing a better night’s sleep, I couldn’t recommend the Deep Sleep Magnesium bath bomb more. Although I no longer do much exercise, I can tell how good it would be to use after a run or session at the gym. It’s magic on my tired, achy muscles after a long day.

I wish it existed back when I was at school as I could have really done with it the day after having a PE lesson!

Floating Love Island Bath Oil from Lush

The Floating Love Island Bath Oil is brand new to Lush and a standout product from their 2023 Valentine’s Day line.

Shape wise, it’s not dissimilar to an upside-down cupcake case. It has scalloped edges, is bright pink, shimmery and has a raised heart on its top.

Floating Love Island contains a long list of ingredients some of those included are rose, jasmine, and vanilla absolutes and almond, lemongrass and Ylang Ylang oils. With it being a bath oil it of course also has plenty of organic cocoa butter in it too.

The Floating Love Island bath oil shares its scent with the Keep it Fluffy shower gel, its scent is best described as a powdery vanilla with hints of lemongrass. The ylang ylang within it also adds a floral element to it. It’s a super fun, oh-so-glamorous fragrance.

Apart from its colour and good looks, the first thing I noticed about the Floating Love Island bath oil was how big it was. In this review I’ve included a photo of it in my hand just so that you can truly gage its size. It’s HUGE for a bath oil!

As soon as the bath oil touches the water, pink specs start to sizzle out of it just like it would if it was a bath bomb. Slowly more and more pink fizzes out of it until the water becomes so pink that you can no longer see the bottom of your bath.

It wasn’t until I had actually used this bath oil that I realised it was less bath oil and more bath bomb.

The fact that the Floating Love Island bath oil is more of a bath bomb than a bath oil made me feel a lot better about using it whole. I very almost cut it up, scared that it would be way too oily for one bath due to its size. I was wrong.

At the risk of sounding like a parrot, if I hadn’t been told that Floating Love Island was a bath oil, I’d have put money on it being a bath bomb.

I’m really clumsy and have a joint condition so am always wary when it comes down to the oilier Lush products, Floating Love Island was however perfect. Oily enough to leave my skin feeling moisturised but not oily enough to make it a slip risk in the bath tub.

The really good news is that Lush are soon, going to release several ‘Lush Melts’. Unlike the Floating Love Island bath oil these new Lush Melts can be used in the bath as an oil or in a wax burner. Keep your eyes peeled on here and on my Instagram for more information on them when they are finally released.

Overall, I really liked the Floating Love Island bath oil, I honestly didn’t think I’d enjoy it as much as I did. It feels fabulous on the skin and its scent lasted right through the day.

I might go as far as to say that Floating Love Island was my favourite product from this year’s Valentine’s Day line. I hope it makes a return next year.
