NEW Golden Pudding Bath Bomb from Lush

The Golden Pudding Bath Bomb was first released last year (2021) and was a combination of 2 much loved Christmastime products, the Golden Wonder and Luxury Lush Pud bath bombs. This year (2022) the Golden Pudding bath bomb has made a return but with a slightly different look.

The new Golden Pudding bath bomb still shares the same scent as last year’s version; Its shape is however different. Golden Pudding is no longer the standard round-bath-bomb shape, it now has a larger face, flat back, and the inside of it is hollow with loose bath-bomb chunks. When you shake it, it rattles in a similar way as the Jingle Bells bath bomb did.

The Golden Pudding bath bomb is mostly golden, with a white top and mini candy holly-shaped-crown. You’ll recognise its scent from several different past Winter products, some I have mentioned above, others include the Bubbly shower gel and Buck’s Fizz body conditioner.

Ingredients wise, the Golden Pudding contains both sweet wild orange and lime oils. It’s a tangy citrusy scent with a warm, boozy punch.

As soon as you place the Golden Pudding bath bomb into the water it starts to slowly fizz away. Golden foam trickles out of it as it calmly bobs around the bath.

It didn’t take long for the bath bomb to start spinning. A burst of orange-foam suddenly spills out of it.

The older version of the Golden Pudding bath bomb used to have both orange and pink inside of it, so I was a little disappointed to see that this new version only had a short-lived, tiny burst of orange.

The bath art from the Golden Pudding bath bomb was nowhere near as good as the original version of it, hence me only having the one photo of its bath art in this review. I couldn’t stop taking photographs of last years in action so this was also a disappointment.

The water left behind by the Golden Pudding bath bomb is a glorious shade of gold and so incredibly shimmery. Its scent lasts throughout your whole bath and lingers in the air once it has gone down the plug hole too. Laying back in its sweet yet warm waters left me super relaxed.

Its silky-smooth waters are also really soothing on worn out, Winter skin. Golden Puddings beautiful scent remains on your skin for the best part of the rest of the day too, something that’s quite unusual for a citrus based product.

Overall, I did enjoy using the new-look Golden Pudding bath bomb but it’s no way near as good as its original design. Its most redeeming feature is its incredible scent but performance wise it just wasn’t on par with last year’s version.

Lush get most things right but sadly changing the Golden Pudding bath bomb wasn’t one of them. This bath bomb has unfortunately been placed in my Lush-metaphorical ‘don’t fix what isn’t broke’ box.

Golden Angel Bubble Bar from Lush

The Golden Angel Bubble Bar is a limited-edition product from Lush’s 2022 Christmas line.

With it sharing its scent with the Shoot for the Stars bath bomb (a bestselling Christmas product that never fails to return every Winter) I can see it being a popular choice to purchase.

Golden Angel is one of Lush’s smaller-sized bubble bars that weighs in at 120g. For comparison purposes, the all-year-round bubble bar, Brightside is 200g.

Yes, the Golden Angel bubble bar may be on the smaller side but if I’ve learnt anything from the hundreds of Lush products that I have tried, size doesn’t dictate the products quality, especially when it comes down to Lush’s bubble bars.

The Golden Angel bubble bar contains some of the following ingredients, bergamot, Ho wood and Brazilian orange oil. The Lush-scent-family that Golden Angel is a member of is called Honey I Washed the Kids and its scent is truly delicious.

Its scent smells just like honey with elements of yummy caramel in it too, it is mouth-wateringly good and always leaves me craving biscuits.

To use the Golden Angel bubble bar, I put broken up pieces of it into a sieve and let the running bath-water trickle over it. I find this sieve-method the most effective way to use the single use Lush bubble bars.

This method also happens to be the best way to ensure none of the product gets accidentally wasted and maximises the bubble bars bubble potential!

One of my favourite things about Lush’s bubble bars is that unlike their bath bombs, bubble bars can be spread out over several baths.

I think you can get 2 adequately bubbled bubble baths out of one Golden Angel bubble bar without it hindering the quality of it at all, I however used all of it in one bath, greedy but absolutely worth it.

It doesn’t take long for the blanket of fluffy white bubble to form once you run Golden Angel under the tap.

Underneath the blanket of fluffy, white bubbles the water is liquid-gold and is so incredibly shimmery!

Using all of a Golden Angel bubble bar in one bath made for one of the bubbliest baths I have ever had. It was a foam party for one and I do not regret over-indulging at all.

It left my skin feeling silky smooth and its gorgeous scent lasted on my skin for the rest of the day too. It left me smelling so good I was a little worried that someone other than my cat would try to lick me… 😉

Overall, I really enjoyed using the Golden Angel bubble bar. Lush do use the Honey I Washed the Kids scent a lot but whatever product format they put it in always works.

I’m unsure whether this bubble bar will return next year but if it does, I’ll be sure to buy another!

Partridge in a Pear Tree Bath Bomb from Lush

The Partridge in a Pear Tree Bath Bomb is a brand-new, limited-edition product from Lush’s 2022 Christmas line. With it sharing its scent with my favourite Lush body spray – So White/Once Upon a Time, I couldn’t wait to get my hands on a few.

There have been several bath bombs released since 2015 that share the same scent as Partridge in a Pear Tree but none of them (in my personal opinion) have ever topped another of my favourite products, the 2016 So White bath bomb.

I was therefore very interested to see if the Partridge in a Pear Tree bath bomb could live up to my favourite bath bombs hype.

The Partridge in a Pear Tree bath bomb is very similar decoration and colour-wise to the Rose Gold bath bomb, although I feel Partridge in a Pear Tree has a lot more shimmer.

It’s an orangey-red bath bomb decorated with a light coating of the most gorgeous golden shimmer.

All of Lush’s bath bombs are hand pressed and the mould for Partridge in a Pear Tree has quite an intricate design, it has an actual partridge in a pear tree on its front.

Clearly, it is visually a lot more impressive to look at than my beloved 2016 So White bath bomb, but my question is, will the bath art be as good?

The Partridge in a Pear Tree bath bomb contains some of the following essential oils; Bergamot, Brazilian orange, neroli and prickly pear. Alongside those oils you will also find rose and orange flower absolute as well as pear powder too.

The website claims that the bath bomb has a pear scent but also says that it’s a part of the Once Upon a Time scent family.

The Once Upon a Time, Lush-scent-family will always smell like crisp, freshly sliced apples to me. Delicious!

As soon as the Partridge in a Pear Tree bath bomb comes into contact with the bath water a burst of orange colour erupts from it, it begins to slowly fizz away, charging around the water surface like a shimmering orange speed boat.

It doesn’t take long for a stream of yellow to start coming out of the bath bomb too. Orange and yellow swirls begin to create beautiful bath art, the photos in this review do the bath bomb no justice at all.

It takes a good 10 minutes for the Partridge in a Pear Tree bath bomb to fully dissolve, the water it leaves behind is a glorious shade of orange and makes the water feel soft as silk, my skin laps up all of the bath bombs goodness, leaving it feeling super hydrated and oh-so-smooth.

Once you’re out of the bath (I really didn’t want to ever get out but had to when it started to get cold!) Partridge in a Pear Tree’s scent can still be smelt on your skin for the rest of the day. Seeing as it is my all-time-favourite Lush scent this left me very happy indeed!

Overall, I really enjoyed having a new bath bomb to try in this Lush scent, its bath art is a lot bolder than the Atom Heart Mother bath bomb (another more recently released bath bomb that shares the same scent) BUT I’m going to be mean and still claim it’s not as good as the So White bath bomb from 2016.

This is only because the bath art isn’t as striking. If I however look at Partridge in a Pear Tree as its own product with no comparison to others, it really is a wonderful bath bomb.

Out of all of this year’s Christmas line, I don’t think I want a bath bomb to come back any more than I do the Partridge in a Pear Tree bath bomb, next year. Lush, please don’t make the Partridge in a Pear Tree bath bomb a 1-year-wonder like you do so many other Christmas bath bombs, it’s fabulous and deserves a place in the Christmas line for many more years to come.
