Rad Dad Shower Gel from Lush

The Rad Dad Shower Gel was first released as a part of 2021’s Father’s Day line. At the point of writing this review it has been a ridiculously long time since Lush released a new shower gel so I was incredibly excited for its release. Described by Lush as a ‘Siberian pine and orris oil bathroom treat’ I couldn’t wait to get my hands on a bottle.

Rad Dad shower gel is a beautifully dark shade of blue, sharing its scent with all of the products from the Fresh As/Needles and Pines scent-family I knew before I even tried it that it would be a firm favourite for my husband in particular, he already uses the Fresh As perfume that I got him for Christmas 2020 all the time so a shower gel with the same scent is a winner!

Rad Dad contains a long list of refreshing and stimulating ingredients, there’s Siberian fir needle, orris and tagetes oils as well as benzoin resinoid and fresh cucumber.

Its scent is very outdoorsy, rich and herbaceous. It’s refreshing but also creates a warming sensation on your skin, it’s an excellent shower gel to use after a work out or a physically demanding day.

As someone who deals with chronic pain in all of my joints and muscles, the Rad Dad shower gels stimulating effects really does help soothe my tired, aching muscles.

Consistency wise the Rad Dad shower gel is lovely and thick, much like the Hot Toddy and Bubbly shower gels. After several, most-recent, watery shower gel releases from Lush, I was pleasantly surprised when I first squirted some Rad Dad shower gel in my hands.

Rad Dad lathers quickly and the tiniest amount goes a very long way. A blob the size of a one-pound coin is more than enough to wash your whole body with.

Its scent really does come alive when combined with the hot water and steam from your shower. If you’re looking for a product that isn’t as spicy as Cinders shower gel, yet is still warming on the skin, Rad Dad is well worth a try.

The shower gels scent remains on your skin for the best part of the rest of the day. I wouldn’t say it was a particularly hydrating shower gel but it doesn’t dry out my skin at all.

Overall I am very impressed with the Rad Dad shower gel, it’s good value for money and is loved by everyone in my house. I am devastated that Rad Dad will only be available for Father’s Day as it really is one of the best shower gels Lush have released in a very long time!

Follow The White Rabbit Bath Bomb from Lush

You may be awash with feelings of déjà vu when you look at the Follow The White Rabbit Bath Bomb for several reasons.

The first reason is how similar its design and colourings are to the Winter bath bomb favourite, Snowman Dreaming. The second and third being its mould is the exact same used for the Bouncy Bunny shower jelly and Spring Bunny bath bomb from Lush Easter lines of the past.

Ever since the aforementioned, Snowman Dreaming bath bomb was released a few Winters ago I have hoped Lush would do a similar bunny shaped bath bomb with the Bouncy Bunny scent and for Easter 2021, Lush did!

The Follow The White Rabbit bath bomb is a smaller sized Lush bath bomb, about the same size as an old-style Butterbear or old-style Ickle Baby Bot bath bomb, it fits snuggly in my hand.

All good things come in small packages and what Follow The White Rabbit lacks in size it well makes up for with its scent and performance in the water.

Containing a mix of buchu, bergamot and Sicilian lemon oils, the Follow The White Rabbit bath bomb has a wonderfully refreshing scent that is deliciously moreish. If you’re looking for a pick-me-up bath product, search no more. The Follow The White Rabbit bath bomb will put more than a spring in your step, a good soak in its citrus-waters will leave you cheery and uplifted.

As soon as the Follow The White Rabbit bath bomb comes into contact with water you are greeted with an explosion of colours. Pinks, reds, oranges, yellows, greens and blues shoot out of its left side leaving behind a rainbow-stream of bath bomb foam.

Even though the Follow The White Rabbit bath bomb is small, it’s a reasonably slow fizzer. Giving you more than enough time to appreciate the kaleidoscope of colourful bath art it creates. The bath art is out of this world, my photos in this review do the bath bomb no justice at all.

I enjoyed using the Follow The White Rabbit bath bomb so much that I immediately ordered 2 more straight after using it.

All good things must come to an end and once the Follow The White Rabbit bath bomb has fully dissolved, you are left with milky violet water that softens and lightly fragrances your skin.

Its scent remains on your skin for the best part of the rest of the day. I hope that one day Lush can create a body spray of the Follow The White Rabbit bath bombs fragrance, it’s perfect for the Spring but its wonderfully refreshing scent would work all year round.

The Follow The White Rabbit bath bomb is a must have from this years Easter line, if it doesn’t return year in, year out Lush will be in my bad books!

Rose Gold Bath Bomb from Lush

The Rose Gold Bath Bomb is a brand-new, limited edition product from Lush’s 2021 Mother’s Day collection. The care and attention to detail that Lush have put in to designing this bath bomb blows me away, it’s a piece of art, so much so that it took all of my willpower to put it in to my bath water.

I really, really didn’t want to see it slowly disappear only to go down the drain never to be seen again…

As you can see from the above and below photos, the Rose Gold bath bomb is incredibly detailed, Lush really went to town with the 3d printer when creating the mould for this bath bomb.

The more I stare at the Rose Gold bath bomb, the more type of flowers that seem to appear in the bath bombs design, it looks like the Lush gods carved it with unicorn horns! 😉 I see daisies, roses, ivy… The list goes on and on.

The Rose Gold bath bomb shares its scent with the Winter Garden bath bomb from 2020’s Winter line. Containing benzoin resinoid, ylang ylang and bergamot oil its scent is a rich yet musky, floral blend.

The Rose Gold bath bomb is as its name suggests, a rose gold colour decorated with a light sprinkling of natural golden shimmer.

As soon as the Rose Gold bath bomb touches the water you are greeted with an explosion of dark pink. I wasn’t expecting much bath art from the Rose Gold bath bomb as Lush had put in so much effort with its exterior design BUT after a few minutes, orange and pink swirls began to fizzle out of it. Leaving pretty patterns across the water surface.

Bath art wise, the Rose Gold bath bomb is incredible. My photos in this post do it no justice at all. If you’ve used the Christmas Sweater bath bomb it’s just as spectacular as that in the water.

Once the Rose Gold bath bomb has fully dissolved you’re left with bright orange, silky-soft bath water.

The musky floral fragrance lasts right up until the last drop of water goes down your plug hole. It also stays on your skin for the best part of the rest of the day too. I normally find the more floral-based-ingredients that bath bombs have, the dryer they are on your skin. The Rose Gold bath bomb however left my skin perfectly hydrated and appearing and feeling much brighter.

Overall I really enjoyed getting to know the Rose Gold bath bomb, the clear winning factor of it is definitely its design, I don’t think Lush have ever created a more intricate, visually pleasing bath bomb!
