Green Green Bath of Foam Bubble Bar from Lush

green-green-bath-of-foam-bubble-barI love how the Lush Kitchen reintroduces us all to long forgotten products from Lush’s past.

When the Green Green Bath of Foam Bubble Bar appeared in the Lush Kitchen back in November 2016 I had never even heard of it before. Curiosity as always got the better of me and I decided to order a few.

I know you’re all sick of hearing of Christmas now, I can assure you I am too. Green Green Bath of Foam is however designed in the shape of Christmas tree so I may have to use the C word a couple more times in this review, sorry!

Green Green Bath of Foam is primarily a Christmas bubble bar I however feel it would work well all year round. For me Lush Christmas products are ones like Hot Toddy shower gelChristmas Kisses bubble bar and the Gingerbread House bubble bar. There’s just something about the spicy and warming products that help me get in the Christmas mood.

The Green Green Bath of Foam bubble bar is decorated with fresh red peppercorns that I think vaguely resemble ladybirds in the photo above. I have even dreamt that they turn into ladybirds, rest assured they don’t, (I really need to get out more.)

It is a beautifully, bold and festive green. As far as it being Christmas themed goes, I feel that it certainly looks like a Christmas product, it is however very different from ones that we have got used to in the most recent Winter product lines.

With a mix of bergamot, grapefruit and frankincense oil in it, the Green Green Bath of Foam scent is an uplifting one, it helps clear my mind of any stresses I have faced that day and helps me wind down and relax.

It pairs beautifully with the Blackberry bath bomb, together they make an excellent bath time cocktail that always ensures I get a much better nights sleep.

I was totally blown away by this bubble bar. I honestly didn’t expect it to make much of an impression on me, it however did and I can’t believe why Lush Kitchen haven’t bought this retro Lush product back sooner?

The next time it pops up in the Kitchen I will most certainly be ordering some more. I don’t think it is a very Christmassy product but I could get used to it being one if I had to! 😉

Tisty Tosty Bath Bomb (Pink Limited Edition) from Lush

tisty-tosty-bath-bomb-pink

I know that upon the release of the pink Tisty Tosty Bath Bomb some thought it was a bit of a cop out from Lush, after all, the original version of it in white is available all year through.

The pink version was first released back in 2016 as a part of the Valentine’s range that was exclusive to Lush’s flagship Oxford Street store.

Unfortunately every time I visited the flagship store during the Valentine period I seemed to have missed it. Luckily, Lush Kitchen however released a small batch and I managed to pick up a few from there.

I am very ashamed to admit that until the release of the pink Tisty Tosty I hadn’t actually ever tried the white Tisty Tosty, it was just never in my local store and it had been long forgotten about in amongst all of the other bath bombs such as FizzbangerBlackberry and Twilight. I’m naughty and still haven’t reviewed the original Tisty Tosty yet… I do however like it and I promise to get my review of it up sometime next month. The white version often appears in a lot of the Valentine’s Day gift sets which I am super excited about.

I guess I should tell you a little bit more about the story behind the Tisty Tosty. Its ingredients are inspired by a love potion from a very long time ago, the medieval times to be exact. Don’t worry, this isn’t going to turn into a history lesson, as interesting as I find medieval history, I know 99.9% of the people that are reading this just want to know about the BathBomb…

Above is a photograph of the pink bath bombs paper insert. It says;

Drop this in the water and whisper the name of the person you want to cast a spell on and say, “Tisty Tosty tell me true, who will I be married to?” and stir the water three times clockwise. Honour the four winds by placing one rose on each corner of the bath. Take out the remaining rosebuds while saying, “they love me, they love me not…”

I’m not sure if anyone has been lucky in love since using this but I do know that it made for an interesting bath time!

The pink Tisty Tosty bath bomb has a strong rose scent that pairs perfectly with the Roses all the Way Soap. It is quite a quick fizzer which isn’t always a bad thing, especially if you just want to get your relax on.

It’s no Yoga bath bomb and doesn’t put on much of a show colour wise. The water does however turns a pale pink which happens to be my favourite colour.

Some people prefer the bright and bold bath bombs while others favour the softer ones such as the Tisty Tosty. Overall I do like this bath bomb, in particular the story behind it. It isn’t as moisturising as other Lush bath bombs though, I recommend using it with a Butterball bath bomb just because I don’t like my skin to get too dry.

Metamorphosis Bath Bomb from Lush

The very first photographs that I saw of this somewhat peculiar looking bath bomb was on Instagram, it was shared the day before the Lush Creative Showcase. Saying that I was excited to attend the Showcase the next day was an understatement and a half. I wish I had been more prepared for the showcase, there were so many surprises and new things that I got completely overwhelmed.

Had I have known the height of the hype around the Metamorphosis Bath Bomb and that it was primarily just a Creative Showcase exclusive, I would have bought more than just the one. Don’t get me wrong, I was of course very, very grateful that I did get the chance to take it home, even if it was just the one. I am just so in love with it that I wish in hindsight that I would have purchased several.

I know thousands of Lushies are still eagerly awaiting it becoming available again. The good news is that I have heard from a very reliable source that it will definitely be back very, very soon. As of how, where and when, we don’t know. We will all just have to wait and see.

So what makes the Metamorphosis Lush’s current most desired bath bomb? Firstly I think it is its unique design. Some have described it as a Dragon’s Egg, I however dislike this comparison as it causes confusion because Lush already have a Dragon’s Egg bath bomb and they don’t look, feel or smell anything alike.

Others have described it as a beetle, again I don’t like this comparison just because sharing a bath with a creepy crawly isn’t on my bucket list of things to do before I die. Comparing it to a bionic hedgehog is as close as I can get with trying to describe it, think Sonic the Hedgehog having a baby with the Terminator.

I love a good snoop on Lush forums, Instagram and Facebook and I kept seeing a lot of people being put off by its grey colour. I’ll say it now and I’ll say it again, never judge a bath bomb until you’ve atleast tried it once!

As soon as the Metamorphosis bath bomb is placed in to the water shimmery silver froth bursts out of it, creating small glistening metallic waves. Within about 10 seconds colours galore burst out of the Metamorphosis, I couldn’t quite believe my eyes!

There were pinks, yellow, greens, orange and a streak of blue too. At this point I really did want to kick myself for only picking up one of these from the Lush Creative Showcase.

Everyone that turned their nose up at it for being grey really missed out.

Metamorphosis is a very fast fizzer, its colourful display was completely finished in a rather disappointing 2 minutes. It was a beautiful display, I just like to have a little longer to admire the pretty bath art.

Scent wise a lot of people are describing the Metamorphosis bath bomb as very similar to the Lord of Misrule bath bomb. I disagree, it’s far more smokier and not nearly as sweet.

Plus Lord of Misrule triggers my migraines and Metamorphosis doesn’t, YAY!

I definitely recommend the Metamorphosis, it really is a very entertaining bath bomb, even with it being a quick fizzer, it is still first class.

I cannot wait to get hold of some more of these!
