Twilight Body Spray from Lush

Twilight Body SprayAt the Lush Summit back in February 2017 Lush revealed several brand new body sprays. Some were available to buy whilst others were prototypes that weren’t quite ready for release. Today I am reviewing the Twilight Body Spray, it shares its scent with Lush’s Sleepy body lotionLuxury Lush Pud bath bomb, Mr Sandman dusting powder and most obviously the shed load of other products that go by the same name.

Twilight body spray is rich with lavender and tonka-absolute making it the perfect product to help you relax and unwind. Be that at the end of a long, hard day or first thing in the morning to help yourself remain cool, calm and collected for the day ahead.

To use all you have to do is squirt the Twilight body spray over your body or clothes. Just 1 or 2 squirts is all you need, I’m amazed that such a small amount leaves you smelling absolutely gorgeous all day long. I can understand why so many people like the body sprays more than the perfumes. They have the same level of strength (scent-wise) and you get so much more for your money.

The Twilight body sprays fragrance is fairly gentle and not too in your face. It has a very soft-lavender tone to it, mixed in with the lavender is also a dash of tonka absolute. The inclusion of tonka adds a sweet and almost musky layer to its scent, it’s one of the most soothing, mind-clearing and calming fragrances that Lush have created to date.

I use the Twilight body spray 3 maybe 4 times a week and have been doing so since march/april this year and it’s still going strong. As I said above, only one or two spritz of the Twilight body spray is needed to get the most out of it and its scent really does stay with you for the whole day.

I have promised myself that I will buy another bottle just before my current one is finished, that way I’ll never be without… I honestly don’t know why Lush didn’t create body sprays long before now as they really are such wonderful products. The Twilight body spray is cost effective, smells exactly the same as the much loved Twilight bath bomb and has lasted me so much longer than any other Lush product ever has before. Without a doubt the Twilight body spray is in my opinion the best body spray I’ve ever owned.

Fox Bath Bomb from Lush

When I very first see this pretty, little Fox shaped bath bomb I couldn’t wait to get my hands on a few. I adore the character products that Lush create, past favourites include the Spring Bunny, Ickle Baby Bot and the Butterbear bath bomb.

The Fox Bath Bomb was a Lush Summit product exclusive back in February 2017. It was a charity bath bomb that was brought out to not only raise some money but also to spread awareness of the cruelty that the fox is up against when Fox hunting is in question.

With the UK’s general election only a few days away, foxhunting has been a frequent topic of conversation. Currently it is illegal to participate in foxhunting in the UK but there have been talks about making it legal again.

Even though this bath bomb is now no longer available, Lush are still pushing their campaign on it, I’m not here to preach politics but I will say that I am dead set against foxhunting. In all of the UK Lush stores they currently have posters displayed that read, ‘Dear 16%, we find foxhunting cruel. Sincerely, the 84%’

Once as a child I was sat in a car and we drove past a huge gathering of horses, riders and foxhounds. It was one of the most eeriest experiences I have ever had. It was almost as if I could smell the fear in the air. I am not a lover of foxes, in fact I am petrified of them, I would however never condone killing them just for fun.

No matter how much I love Lush and their products, sometimes there is the odd few that I don’t get along with. Unfortunately the Fox bath bomb is one of those products. I want to kick myself as to look at, it is such a beautiful and sweet design, the fact that it is also fronting a campaign I believe so strongly in makes me feel even worse, I however cannot get on with its scent. The scent it has is from the ‘Lust’ Lush-scent family meaning that the Fox bath bomb isn’t the first Lush product to have its scent.

The Fox bath bomb is heavily fragranced with jasmine and ylang ylang. I’m not entirely sure what it is about the mixture of those two ingredients that upsets my nose so much but I have tried and tried to like it with no joy. 9 times out of 10 I grow to appreciate a  product’s scent but as for the Lust scent, I don’t think it is ever going to happen.

Please do not take my word for it though, I have seen many Lushies raving about the Lust, Lush-scent. Just because I don’t like it doesn’t mean that you’ll feel the same. Recently the Lush Kitchen created an online poll of Lush scents in a bid to find out our favourites so that they could create brand new products with the most popular scents. The Lust scent came 5th, this proves that there are in fact a lot more people out there that love the scent, than there are people (like me) that hate it.

Although I didn’t stay in the Fox bath for very long due to me not liking its scent, I couldn’t help but notice how quickly it had softened my skin. It’s a fairly quick fizzer too, the quicker it fizzles away the quicker you can lie back in the bath and get your relax on! 😉

Lush Puppy Lip Scrub from Lush

As a daily Lush lip-scrub user I was of course more than delighted to get hold of a 25g pot of the Lush Puppy Lip Scrub. I am an everyday user of Lush lip scrubs because I have an awful habit of biting my lips in my sleep. I choose Lush lip scrubs over all others not only because of Lush’s ethical buying policies but because they give instant results and with minimum effort.

At the point of writing this, Lush Puppy had only been available from the Lush Summit that was hosted in London back in February 2017. I unfortunately couldn’t make the event due to it being so close to my husband and I’s wedding day but I have a very kind friend that picked me up most of the exclusive products there so I didn’t miss out completely. Another huge thank you to her as I wouldn’t have even be able to do this review if it wasn’t for her.

Lush Puppy is supposedly inspired by the slushy ice drinks that we all drank too much of as kids, if you thought the Bubblegum lip scrub was sweet then the sweetness of Lush Puppy will blow your socks off. With the Lush Puppy lid off, all I can really identify with my nose is sweet, sweet orange mixed with strong vanilla. It’s like no other sweetness I have ever experienced in a Lush product before. I’m not the biggest fan of all things sweet but after such positive results with the also very sweet Bubblegum lip scrub I couldn’t not give Lush Puppy a go.Lush Puppy Lip Scrub WMThe main ingredient in all of Lush’s lip scrubs is caster sugar. To this day I am still amazed that something so basic and natural can do such a good job at exfoliating. Lush lip scrubs blow all other companies lip exfoliators out of the water. Going back to Lush Puppies scent, it has a strong, VERY sweet citrus fragrance, its sweetness was still a concern of mine before I used it, I became really hesitant to actually give it a go, just the thought of putting it near my lips made me feel a little queasy because in the pot it was just so strongly sweet.

The smallest amount of the Lush Puppy sugar scrub however goes a very long way and I found that when it was on my lips in a much smaller quantity, its scent wasn’t nearly as strong, it was more than manageable for me, using it wasn’t an unpleasant experience at all.

Apart from their different scents, colours and flavours, I really don’t see any other distinguishing differences between all of the Lush lip scrubs when it comes down to the job they are meant to do. I of course like some Lush lip scrubs more than others but all of them do, do an amazing job at exfoliating, hydrating and softening your lips. The more versions Lush bring out, the more I can change my daily routine up a bit. Sometimes it’s nice to try something that’s different, especially when you know you’re always going to get the same when it comes down to levels of quality. Whatever ingredient Lush decide to mix with good old caster sugar, it always remains a very good lip scrub.

One thing I have realised through my excessive Lush lip scrub usage is that some last longer than others. The Lush Puppy lip scrub seems to have stayed just as fresh as the day I received it so in that respect it has more to it than (for example) the, The Kiss lip scrub, The Kiss doesn’t seem to last much past 3 months, whereas Lush Puppy is still just as fresh as the day I got it at almost 4 months old. This small difference is what has made Lush Puppy one of my favourite Lush lip scrubs.

I hope that the Lush Puppy lip scrub at the least comes out as a Kitchen exclusive one day, more people need a chance to try it as it is a very good product that really is very different scent and colour wise from any other Lush lip scrub that has been created before.
