Rose Bombshell Bath Bomb From Lush

Rose Bombshell Bath Bomb.png Last year (2016) the Rose Bombshell Bath Bomb was revamped beyond recognition for Lush’s Mother’s Day range. With it being completely unrecognisable to versions previously released, I was very excited to get hold of a few. The newly designed Rose Bombshell was a tremendously positive and much needed face lift, I loved it. I was therefore super happy when I found out that Lush had decided to bring it back for this years Valentine’s day range!

Changing from a plain white coloured product resembling Lush Oxford Street’s Ylang Song bath bomb to an almost neon pink one is always a good move in my personal pink-mad opinion. Not that I don’t love the Ylang Song bath bomb, I just tend to gravitate towards the pink products more because I’m pink obsessed.

Upon hitting the water the Rose Bombshell Bath Bomb immediately starts to fizz. It slowly changes your bath water to a crisp and pale pink.

As the Rose Bombshell slowly fizzes away its greenish blue interior begins to show. As this external layer of the bath bomb is gradually revealed the bath water becomes a deeper more vibrant pink.

Packed with rose absolute this bath bomb is a real treat for dull and tired skin. With the Rose Bombshell having both skin-soothing and moisturising properties, it is a bath bomb that you will want to use time and time again.

After getting out of this bath I could still smell the light floral and rose fragrance of Rose Bombshell on my skin. It wasn’t until I got out of the bath that I truly started to appreciate its fresh, beautiful and lingering scent.

Once this fantastically zingy-floral bath bomb reaches its last layer a handful of soft yellow rose petals burst out floating to the water surface. Like the Lovestruck bubble bar, Rose Bombshell also contains geranium oil, I am not a fan of geranium at all, Rose Bombshell’s other ingredients seem to however compliment it well making it a fragrance I do enjoy.

The multicoloured bubbles that Rose Bombshell left on the surface of the bath were so, so pretty. I just had to take a few more photos before I got into full bath mode.

Out of all of the seasonal, limited edition products that Lush threw at us last year (2016) this limited edition bath bomb was one of my favourites by far.

I have said several times in previous reviews that some of the limited edition products such as Rose Bombshell would make a fantastic addition to the staple, every day store products. A year on and I still feel that Rose Bombshell is worthy of that.

It really is a remarkably refreshing bath bomb that I feel I will never, ever get tired of.

Ladybird Bubble Bar from Lush

Ladybird Bubble Bar.png When the Ladybird Bubble Bar was first released as a Mother’s Day product last year (2016) I was so, so excited. There’s just something so intriguing about the products that Lush make into little creatures.

It’s a very clever move on Lush’s account, giving a product eyes gives it some personality and because of this it makes them more desirable, buying a Ladybird bubble bar is like getting a new pet and the best kind of pet too as it doesn’t poop!

Unfortunately bubble bars are meant to be used so try not to get too attached, I promise you chopping or crumbling the Ladybird bubble bar up is well worth it. Once you’ve used it in a bath you will have no regrets in chopping up your new little buddy.

Other popular character bubble bars are the Mumkin, Tweet and Snowie bubble bar.

There is quite a few, none have however been quite as dinky and cute as the Ladybird bubble bar. img_5125-1

I couldn’t resist giving the Ladybird bubble bar a go even though I actually really hate ladybirds. Don’t shout at me, I have my reasons…

My other half and I moved into our new house just over 2 years ago and we have unfortunately had several huge ladybird invasions to deal with since. They love the old style windows, I’d do anything to get the windows changed but we have a listed house so the windows have to stay just as they were back in the Victorian times. *cries*

I used to adore ladybirds but after cleaning them out of my house for what seems like the millionth time, they kind of lose their ‘aww’ factor.

Ladybirds hate anything menthol and this is how we ward them off from our house now. Diffusing anything menthol in your house makes them move out, it is the kindest and most natural way to get rid of them. It doesn’t cause them or us any harm, we have a ladybird free house and not because we’ve squished them all, it’s a win, win situation.

Ironically the Ladybird bubble bar’s main ingredient is in fact PEPPERMINT. Once I knew that key piece of information I welcomed several bubble bar versions of Ladybird into my home with open arms.

Bye, bye real life ladybirds the big boys are moving in!

I only ever use a small amount of the Ladybird bubble bar as that’s all you need for a multitude of fluffy white bubbles.

The Ladybird Bubble Bar’s scent is a completely new one that I don’t recognise from any other Lush product. I’m still not 100% sure that I like it. By all means it is not an unpleasant scent, it’s just not one I’d normally go for.

The peppermint oil in it isn’t quite as strong as it is in the Intergalactic bath bomb. The geranium oil that is also in it softens the strength of the peppermint oil a great deal, the two mixed together give it a soft minty and musky scent.

Before using the Ladybird bubble bar I had never thought of floral and menthol complementing each other so well.

Underneath the canopy of soft, white bubbles is the most beautiful shade of berry-red water.

Overall the Ladybird bubble bar gave me a very good bath. I can’t see any real particular faults with it and I guess this is why it has come back in 2017 as a part of the Valentine’s range!

Roller Bath Bomb from Lush

The Roller Bath Bomb was released back in February 2016 as an Oxford Street, Mother’s Day exclusive. My birthday is in February and in aid of it, I had booked to visit the flagship store as Oxford Street is quite literally the best Lush store in the universe.

I had, had a cheeky Synaesthesia treatment with all thanks to Lush and was eager to kill 2 birds with one stone by also doing a little bit of shopping after it, focusing on the Oxford Street exclusives from 2016’s Valentine’s and Mother’s Day range. Unfortunately the Roller bath bomb had been held back on its release and it was the only product I didn’t manage to get hold of that day.

I was born in London and had lived there for 24 years before moving to North Yorkshire for a quieter, better life.

If I had known about the flagship store opening almost directly opposite to where I once worked, I often wonder if I would have moved over 200 miles away? Luckily living so far away isn’t too much of a heartache as I have family and friends in London. My sister-in-law lives a short bus ride away from the flagship store and she goes above and beyond with her sister-in-law duties and picks me stuff up from there all the time. She’s a diamond, you should all be insanely jealous.

Of course while running my Lush errands she has also become a hardcore Lushie, which was inevitable as all Lush stores have a contagious atmosphere, especially Lush Oxford Street!

Roller Bath Bomb-2

Although I was a bit late to the Roller bath bomb party as it had sold out almost as soon as it was restocked several times, I finally got hold of some of my own and I have honestly never experienced a bath bomb quite like it.

The Roller bath bomb is completely unique to any other Lush bath bomb I have had before.

It is actually part bath bomb, part bath melt. The top half of Roller is dipped in a waxy-like purple melt, while it’s bottom half is the standard bath-bomb-formula that we are all used to getting from Lush.

At first I wasn’t sure of the Roller bath bomb. It looked and smelt fantastic, I am however not a fan of any bath products that are too oily because I am not steady on my feet. I already require assistance to get in and out of the bath and don’t want to over-complicate things.

Roller is however in my opinion, the perfect balance of both bath bomb and bath melt. It’s formula always leaves my skin the softest it has ever felt, I also didn’t feel like an over oiled engine part as I had feared.

It’s as if my skin soaked up all of the Roller’s goodness, conditioning my skin into the best I have ever seen or felt it.

The Roller bath bomb shares it’s scent with the Yummy Mummy Shower Cream that was also released earlier this year for Mother’s Day, it was however not an Oxford Street exclusive as it was available everywhere for a short period. I hope they bring it back next year as it is perfection in shower cream form. If you’d like to read my review on it click the link above.

The Yummy Mummy scent is a strawberry fans idea of heaven, the Roller bath bomb makes for a very delightful, strawberry-cream, bath time delicacy.

When the Roller bath bomb first hits the water it’s purple-melt-half floats just below the water surface, with it’s white side just above. it slowly froths up, spreading sweet and fruity scented foam around your bathtub.

It then slowly starts to spin, so that the purple side is now sometimes in vision. Slowly but surely the Roller bath bomb decorates your bath water with streaks of white, purple, blue, aqua green and pink swirls.

After some time the Roller bath bomb appears to break into two white pieces. Even though the Roller is now in half, it still carries on making the most gorgeous patterns of breathtaking colours.

I don’t normally include so many photographs in my Lush reviews but can you blame me for not wanting to miss a single moment of this precious bath bomb?

Whenever the Roller bath bomb becomes available to buy I strongly recommend you grab as many as you can. Actually scratch that… Don’t buy any at all, that way I can buy them all for myself!
