Big Foot Bath Bomb from Lush

The Big Foot Bath Bomb is a brand-new, limited-edition product first created for Lush’s 2022 Halloween line. If you were a fan of Lush’s Monsters’ Ball bath bomb, then you will be happy to hear that the Big Foot bath bomb shares the same ‘Zesty’ scent.

The Monsters’ Ball bath bomb was always a Halloween-favourite of mine so when Lush didn’t bring it back for Halloween last year, I was very sad. I was therefore over-the-moon to see that the 2022 Halloween line featured a bath bomb with the same scent of my all-time favourite Halloween product.

Not only does the Big Foot bath bomb share a scent with the Monsters’ Ball bath bomb it also shares the same pink and blue colours.

As you can see from the photos that I have included in this review, the Big Foot bath bomb is just that, a big foot. It actually reminds me of a children’s book that I recently read by the author Sophie Anderson. The book is called The House with Chicken Legs.

While I am not sure if this product is inspired by the same Prussian fairy tales that Sophie Anderson gets her book inspiration from, both do fit right into the whole Halloween theme perfectly!

The Big Foot bath bomb contains a long list of ingredients, some of them that are included are; coconut milk, Epsom salt, Himalayan rock salt, olibanum resinoid, popping candy and the following essential oils, lime and neroli.

Neroli is a really bitter-citrus-scent on its own but when it is mixed with lime oil its bitterness is drowned out and you’re left with a much lighter and somewhat warming citrusy scent. Some say the scent reminds them of sour gum sweets.

The Big Foot bath bomb is approximately 120g and fits in my hand snuggly, size-wise it’s about the same size as the Rocket Science bath bomb.

With Big Foot being differently shaped to the standard round bath bomb, even though it is clearly a brightly coloured pink and blue bath bomb I wondered whether the bath art it created would be on par with the aforementioned Monsters’ Ball bath bomb.

As soon as the Big Foot bath bomb touches the water you are greeted with an explosion of pink and blue foam. Light blue and pink bubbles sizzle out of it as it floats just under the waters surface. Bath art wise the Big Foot bath bomb isn’t as good as Monsters’ Ball, but I think I managed to get some okay photos of it in action to include in this review.

Big Foot has fully dissolved after about 5 minutes which is fairly quick for its size but what really shines through with this bath bomb is its gorgeous scent. I love it. The popping candy was a nice surprise too, although it didn’t snap, crackle and pop for very long.

In all honesty, I have totally over compared the Big Foot bath bomb with Monsters’ Ball, yes, it is very similar because of its colouring, scent and the time of year it is released but what sets it apart is the end water colour and how hydrating its waters are on my skin. Unlike the purple water Monsters’ Ball leaves you with, Big Foots water is a gorgeous shade of royal blue.

The Big Foot bath bomb creates the most incredibly soft bath-water and I found that it left my skin feeling super hydrated and soft too. The coconut milk, Epsom and Himalayan salt are incredibly soothing on your skin which is perfect now the Autumn weather is starting to kick in.

Its scent can still be smelt on your skin for the best part of the rest of the day which is rare for citrus based scents; Lime seems to be the magic ingredient that has scent-staying-power.

Overall, I enjoyed the Big Foot bath bomb and I’m sorry to compare it to the Monsters’ Ball bath bomb yet again BUT I feel it needs mentioning that Big Foot does not have big enough feet to fill Monsters’ Balls boots. If you however look at Big Foot as a brand-new bath bomb it’s great!

Tarantula Shower Jelly from Lush

This year I am starting off my Halloween Lush-product-reviews with the Tarantula Shower Jelly. The Tarantula shower jelly is a brand-new, limited-edition, Halloween product that first became available in the UK at the end of August 2022.

Designed to look just like a tarantula, when news of its existence first leaked online, I wasn’t even sure if I was even going to buy the shower jelly. I am absolutely terrified of spiders due to an unforgettable experience with an African bird eating spider in my bedroom in Cyprus when I was just 5 years old.

I won’t go into detail as you’re here for my review of the shower jelly BUT I just wanted to explain that there was a real life, childhood experience behind my irrational fear of spiders… 😬

Despite my fear of the 8-legged-beast, I braved giving the Tarantula shower jelly a sniff in-store and after discovering it smelt absolutely delicious, I decided to take one home with me. I just have to keep reminding myself that it is not a real spider

The Tarantula shower jelly contains a long list of ingredients including cherry infusion, activated charcoal and some of the following essential oils; Davana, lime and almond.

As I said earlier, its scent is delicious, people have asked me to compare it with something and for me, it really reminds me of the drink, Dr Pepper but with hints of boozy, cherry amaretto too.

With Tarantula being a character shaped shower jelly, I was hesitant to use it in the same way as I would an ordinary pot-shaped shower jelly as unfortunately I find more often than not, that the character shaped jellies aren’t always as sturdy and robust as the normal pot-shaped ones.

As predicted, The Tarantula shower jelly did begin to fall apart after just one use even when I was gentle with it. However, I’ve used it 2 more times and although it is showing wear and tear, there’s still plenty more of it to go around yet.

There is no right or wrong way to use a shower jelly, I prefer to use mine in the same way as you would a bar of soap, whole. Some people however chop their shower jellies up using a few pieces at a time. – I used its 8 legs to my advantage, placing my fingers in-between them, this made it so much easier to grip it in the shower.

The Tarantula shower jelly lathers up quickly and creates a super creamy foam. A little goes a very long way and glides over your skin with ease. Its gorgeous cherry scent fills your bathroom as soon as you take its lid off BUT it’s not until the shower jelly is in use that its scent really comes alive. Mixed alongside the hot water and steam of the shower, its scent literally engulfs you in yummy cherry-ness!

At first its attention to detail (especially its made-to-look-hairy back and its 8 legs) made me feel uneasy but the biodegradable, holographic-rainbow-shimmer inside of it alongside its scent made it easy to fall in love with. After stepping out of the shower my skin is left feeling soft, clean, and fresh, it also appears somewhat brighter. It isn’t a hugely moisturising shower jelly but doesn’t leave me desperate to coat myself in body lotion after I have used it either.

Overall, I have thoroughly enjoyed using the Tarantula shower jelly and I am glad that I didn’t let the fact it is spider-shaped put me off of buying it, I can’t wait to see if Lush create more products that share this shower jellies scent in the near future! 🍒

Alien Bubble Bar from Lush

The Alien Bubble Bar is yet another brand-new, product from Lush’s limited-edition 2021 Halloween line. Designed in the shape of a bright-green-alien-head with 2 big, jet-black eyes, it’s both cute and creepy.

I wouldn’t ordinarily match aliens up with Halloween but alien films scare me a lot more than films with serial killers, blood, and guts so I suppose they are definitely spooky enough to fit into the Halloween range…

Many customers including myself had hoped that the Alien bubble bar shared its scent with the Calacas shower gel (a much loved Halloween favourite) Alien however contains bergamot, litsea cubeba and benzoin resinoid.

Its scent is zesty but is not a part of the Calacas scent family. It’s a lot more zesty and much more potent, it reminds me of a mixture of the Avobath and Melusine bath bombs. If you’re looking for a bubble bar to give yourself a boost, look no further.

Alien fits snuggly in my hand, it’s roughly the same size as last year’s Halloween bubble bar, Bewitched. You can easily get 2 bubble baths out of the one bar. Or one super luxurious one!

To use the Alien bubble bar I recommend breaking it up and running it under the hot tap as your bath fills up. Some people just run it under the tap in their hand, others use it in a sieve. I find the sieve method a lot more effective as it stops any product from escaping, helping you reach its maximum bubble potential!

Once the bubble bar has gone from the sieve, another trick for extra bubbles is to use the shower head. While it’s on, holding the shower head close to the water, pointing it right into the bath for just a minute will help the amount of bubbles you have almost double.

The bubbles form very quickly as the tap runs over the bubble bar, underneath the blanket of bubbles the water turns a beautiful shade of neon green. The scent fills your bathroom leaving you feeling refreshed, uplifted, and ready to take on the day.

The bubbles from the Alien bubble bar last throughout your bath. Some bubble-bars’-bubbles don’t hang around in the same way, disappearing long before you pull the plug. Alien’s bubbles however stick around lasting longer in the bath than you do!

Once out of the bath its scent stays on your skin for the best part of the rest of the day – which is quite rare for zesty and citrusy products. My skin feels hydrated and also appears brighter too.

Overall, I am really impressed with the Alien bubble bar, I love how green it turns the water and how its scent wakes me up. While I don’t think I can ever forgive Lush for not bringing the Monsters’ Ball bath bomb back for Halloween, I’m glad they’ve given us this zesty bubble bar to fill part of the void that its absence has left.

Monster Octopus Shower Jelly from Lush

The Monster Octopus Shower Jelly is a brand-new, limited-edition product from Lush’s 2021 Halloween line. It is inspired by the Kraken, a legendary giant octopus from Scandinavian folklore that was said to terrorise sailors, it has a fantastically spooky back story, making it perfect for the Halloween period.

The first thing about the Monster Octopus shower jelly that caught my attention was that it was shaped as an actual octopus and wasn’t just a standard jelly shape.

If you have read any of my shower jelly reviews before this one, you’d know that I prefer to use my shower jellies whole, in a very similar way to how you would use a standard bar of soap. Some people however chop their shower jellies up using one piece at a time. There’s no right or wrong way to use them so just do whatever you are most comfortable with.

In the past I have always favoured the shower jellies that are in the standard shape, I find them a lot easier to use and they tend to last longer too. The character shaped shower jellies just don’t seem to have the stamina, breaking up a lot quicker. I am pleased to however report that the Monster Octopus shower jelly has lasted me a good 4 uses and doesn’t show any sign of depletion or wear and tear yet.

Going back to this shower jellies shape – I mentioned a few paragraphs ago that this shower jelly has been made into the shape of an octopus. Many people have however pointed out that it only has 5 legs. TRUE. I’m unsure as to why Lush decided to give it 5 legs, instead of the 8 that octopuses have. I suspect that it is something to do with flimsiness and ease of handling it during use. It could however also be something as simple as it just looked better with 5 legs. Again, these are just me guessing.

My overactive imagination decided that the Monster Octopus shower jelly is in fact a star fish that is wearing an octopus Halloween costume! I liked that idea so I’m choosing to believe that now. 😉

The Monster Octopus shower jellies scent is a sweet and powerfully rich, fruity affair. It contains fresh-passion-fruit, vanilla, blackcurrant, sweet-wild-orange and tagetes. It’s the perfect mix of both sweet and sour and it fits perfectly into the theme of a candy filled Halloween. It lathers up with ease, incredibly quickly. I discovered by accident that if you hold it under a running tap it also works brilliantly as a bubble bath too.

Using it in the shower or bath leaves me feeling clean and my skin soft. Its powerful scent also stays on your skin for the best part of the rest of the day after using it. It mentions on its packaging that it can be used as a shampoo too; I haven’t tried it in my hair yet but would be interested in hearing anyone’s review if they have.

Overall, I am really impressed with the Monster Octopus shower jelly. It’s nice that this years Halloween range features this brand-new scent and I look forward to seeing what else Lush comes up with over the last quarter of 2021!

Ghostie Bath Bomb from Lush

The Ghostie Bath Bomb is a brand new, limited edition product first created for Lush’s 2021 Halloween line. With Lush not bringing my FAVOURITE bath bomb, the Monsters’ Ball back this Halloween, there is a lot riding on the Ghostie bath bombs shoulders. No pressure, Ghostie…

As its name suggests, Ghostie is a small but mighty, ghost-shaped bath bomb, it fits snuggly in my hand and is a lot cuter than it is spooky. I love that it has a pink mouth and eyes, it makes the mouth and eyes really pop against the rest of the white bath bomb.

Ghostie contains a generous helping of popping candy, lemongrass, Sicilian lemon and Persian lime oil. Its scent is super sour and has the power to awaken all of your senses and more. It doesn’t share a scent with either the Avobath or Melusine bath bombs but if you like either of them, chances are you’ll be a fan of Ghostie too.

When you are just holding the Ghostie bath bomb, its zesty-scent really is like a slap in the face especially when you’re tired or in need of a pick-me-up. I don’t think there has ever been a more powerful citrus scent from Lush which is a very bold statement considering how many citrus-based products they’ve released over the years.

Ghostie may look plain at first glance but if you look at its side you are given a clue as to how it will perform in the bath. Its design is very similar to the 3 rainbow bath bombs from Lush, the Snowman Dreaming, Follow the White Rabbit and Toby’s Magic Cow.

While I’d still tie the Ghostie bath bomb in with the 3 rainbow bath bombs claiming it to be the 4th of its kind, its insides are just blue and pinky-purple. Ghosties bath arts colouring (barring the white) is very similar to the Monsters’ Ball bath bombs.

As soon as the Ghostie bath bomb comes into contact with the bath water white foam fizzles out of it as well as a streak of blue and purple from one of its sides.

As pretty as the rainbow bath bombs are, I think making Ghostie just have blue and purple insides was a wise decision from Lush as I wouldn’t want people to start getting bored of the same type of bath bomb over and over.

For a relatively small bath bomb, Ghostie takes a long time to dissolve, it took 15 minutes in total which leaves you with plenty of time to enjoy the blue, white and pinky-purple bath art it creates.

The popping candy hidden in the Ghostie bath bomb becomes apparent within a minute or 2 of the bath bomb going into the water. Surprisingly it carries on crackling and popping away for a good 5 minutes after the bath bomb has fully dissolved.

The water left behind is a milky violet colour and incredibly soft on the skin. Laying back in Ghostie bath water leaves me feeling refreshed and puts a spring in my step.

The only negative I’ve found with the Ghostie bath bomb is that its scent doesn’t seem to stay on your skin once you’re out of the bath. I was really surprised by this as its scent from the box and throughout it being in the bath is incredibly strong.

Although the fragrance of Ghostie seems to disappear at the same time as the bath water goes down the drain, it still left my skin looking brighter and feeling silky smooth.

Am I mad that Lush replaced my favourite Halloween bath bomb with Ghostie? Yes. Although both Monsters’ Ball and Ghostie have similar bath art they are 2 very different bath bombs. With Monsters’ Ball being my favourite I will always be a little bitter about it not coming back. That’s not me saying that I dislike Ghostie though. I think it’s a fantastic addition to the Halloween line and can see it being enjoyed by many customers.

Trick or Treat Lip Scrub from Lush

The Trick or Treat Lip Scrub is a brand new, limited edition product from Lush’s 2021 Halloween line. I use Lush lip scrubs almost every day so whenever a new one comes out I always order myself a pot.

The main ingredient in all of Lush’s lip scrubs is caster sugar. To this day I am still lost for words that such a simple and natural mix of ingredients can do such a great job. It really does make me question why other cosmetic companies ever actively chose to use (the now banned) micro-plastics in their exfoliation products.

Lush’s lip scrubs are ridiculously underrated, if you’re on the fence about giving them a go I promise you, you will not be disappointed.

Using Lush lip scrubs requires a minimum amount of effort, they cover everything your lips need to always look and feel great. They are the perfect product to exfoliate dry or chapped lips and are also very good at softening and hydrating them at the same time. Exfoliating your lips has so many benefits and with all thanks to Lush, has never been easier or tastier!

As well as caster sugar the Trick or Treat lip scrub also contains organic jojoba and lime oils. If you’re a fan of sour sweets, then Trick or Treat is the perfect lip scrub for you. Its scent is nose-wrinklingly-sour and is just like a freshly cut lime. Taking its lid off and having a sniff feels like the very first swig of a really fizzy drink, it literally tickles your nose.

Trick or Treat lip scrub tastes just as good as it smells too; I just can’t get enough. It’s obviously not meant to be eaten but if a little does end up in your mouth while you are scrubbing your lips with it you don’t need to worry.

The Trick or Treat lip scrub is a stunning shade of lime green. Ordinarily, I tend to favour the lighter more natural coloured lip scrubs over the brightly coloured ones because I find the highly pigmented scrubs can sometimes leave your lips with a tinge of whatever colour the lip scrub is.

The biggest culprit of colour transfer in my opinion is the Galaxy lip scrub. Trick or Treat is clearly another very brightly coloured lip scrub however I am pleased to report that during use, I haven’t had any colour transfer from it at all.

The only negative thing about the Trick or Treat lip scrub is that it’s not as hydrating as other Lush lip scrubs. This minor inconvenience is however soon solved with a quick dab of lip balm.

Overall I really like the Trick or Treat lip scrub, it’s a stand out product from this year’s Halloween line. It’s a brilliant lip exfoliator and it is definitely all treat and no trick!

Toffee Apple Lip Scrub from Lush

The Toffee Apple Lip Scrub is yet another brand new product created for Lush’s 2020 Halloween line. I use Lush lip scrubs almost every day so whenever a new one is released I always try to buy a pot.

The main ingredient in Lush lip scrubs is caster sugar. To this day I am still lost for words that such a simple and natural ingredient can do such a great job at creating smooth and hydrated lips. Why other cosmetic companies ever felt the need to use micro-plastics in their exfoliating products when we have always had sugar to-hand is beyond me.

Just like the Unicorn lip scrub, Toffee Apple also has 2 different layers. Its top layer is bright green and its bottom layer is a Halloween-spooky-special, BLOOD RED. Both layers aren’t just different colours either, they are also different flavours/scents. The green layer is apple and the red layer is sickly-sweet sticky toffee. The perfect mix of both sweet and sour!

Lush lip scrubs make maintaining the perfect pout ridiculously easy, they cover everything your lips need to always feel and look their best. Sugar is an excellent ingredient for gently buffing away dead and dry skin from your lips while the organic jojoba oils and shea butters are good for softening and hydrating them.

Exfoliating your lips has so many benefits and has never been easier thanks to Lush.

As well as the ingredients I mentioned above, the Toffee Apple lip scrub also contains, bergamot, geranium and sandalwood oils. It’s sweet and sour scent is incredibly moreish.

Being honest as always, I do love the 2 different coloured layers mixed together, it’s toffee-apple scented heaven BUT as a die-hard fan of all things apple I couldn’t help but think that the apple layer would also sell very well on its own.

I’m just thinking out loud but maybe as a Valentine’s Day product? I’m thinking a fairytale-apple-theme to work alongside the newly released Once Upon A Time body spray?! 😉

Just like the Galaxy lip scrub from last years Christmas line, Toffee Apple is very pigmented. This means that I recommend using a little amount at a time to prevent any colour transfer. You do actually only need a small amount for it to work but just in case you liked the taste so much that you were tempted to over indulge, be careful so you aren’t left with green tinged lips!

Overall I really do like the Toffee Apple lip scrub, it’s not my favourite lip scrub from Lush but it’s one I’d happily buy again if given the opportunity. A huge positive about it is that it’s a lot more hydrating than any other lip scrub I have used from Lush before.

Bat Art Bath Bomb from Lush

The Bat Art Bath Bomb is a brand new Lush release that first came out as a part of 2020’s Halloween range. I couldn’t resist buying a couple of them on their release date. Bat Arts design is so unique to anything Lush have created before. Shaped like a bat, with webbed-like-bat-wings it’s almost too cute to let go down the drain. 🥺

The first thing people usually notice about Bat Art is that it’s a sparkly-jet-black. Over the last few years Lush have designed and released several black coloured products. In 2017 we were introduced to the Secret Arts jelly bomb as well as another Halloween release, the Bewitched bubble bar.

Back then, I admit to being absolutely terrified at the prospect of introducing my squeaky-clean, bright-white-bath with a dark-black-product. This was the case for many other Lush customers too, so many people asked why anyone would use such a product in the bath or shower – a place you get in to get clean.

Regardless of my fears, I tried them and I had nothing but positive experiences with both, clean up included. With my past experiences with black products being so positive I didn’t even hesitate before using the black and silver-lustre-decorated Bat Art bath bomb.

The Bat Art bath bomb shares its scent with the Junk perfume, unfortunately I haven’t had the pleasure of trying Junk yet so the Bat Art bath bomb is my first experience of the fragrance.

Bat Art contains a peculiar blend of ingredients that strangely compliment one another very well. There is Sicilian lemon, green Mandarin, rosemary and sage oils, making the Bat Arts scent a tricky one to describe. There are notes of fruity-sweet-blackcurrant, as well as it having an herbal almost-medicinal, grassy edge to it too.

As soon as the Bat Art bath bomb comes into contact with the bath water a huge explosion of black foam bursts out of it, after a minute a thinner purple foam begins to sizzle out of it too. Bat Art is a very slow fizzer, leaving you with plenty of time to enjoy the beautiful bath art it creates.

As it floats around the water surface, sizzling away, 3 spots of colour begin to come out of it at different points. There are single streaks of sky-blue, light purple and sparkly silver. If you thought the Star Light Star Bright bath melt was the sparkliest product, think again!

Once the Bat Art bath bomb has fully dissolved you are left with bath art that looks just like a slab of sparkly-silver and purple marble. The water is such a dark and shimmering purple, it’s very easy to get lost in. I spent a good 5 minutes just swishing it around with my hand, watching all the sparkles catching the light. Strangely I find this simple act very therapeutic.

My photos in this post do the Bat Art bath bomb no justice at all. You really do have to see it with your own eyes. Once out of the bath its scent remains on your skin for the best part of the rest of the day, although my skin did feel a little dry once I got out of the bath it was nothing a small blob of body lotion couldn’t fix.

Overall I am really, really impressed with the Bat Art bath bomb, I can see it becoming a staple Halloween release, if you love bath art then you’ll want to use Bat Art again and again.

Very Very Frightening Shower Gel from Lush

The Very Very Frightening Shower Gel is a brand new product created for Lush’s 2020 Halloween line. If you’re a fan of the Space Girl bath bomb you’ll be pleased to hear that the Very Very Frightening shower gel has a very similar scent. It’s practically the same, although I feel Very Very Frightening is a little zingier than the aforementioned bath bomb.

To save both myself and you, the reader, I am now going to refer to the Very Very Frightening shower gel as just VVF, I’ve got to the point where I have written the word ‘very’ in-my-blogs-notebook so many times that it doesn’t even look like a real word anymore. 😂

The VVF shower gel contains, grapefruit, bergamot, fresh lemon juice & Fig juice. For those of you who haven’t experienced the Space Girl scent before, both Space Girl and VVF’s scent is a gentle, fruity, sherbet-sweet blend that I can’t get enough of.

VVF’s gentle, sherbet-sweet scent is no trick and all treat! sharing a hot and steamy shower with it will banish away all cobwebs and bad moods. A quick wash with VVF shower gel will put a spring in your step, awaken all of your senses, leaving you feeling clean, uplifted and refreshed.

Appearance wise, the VVF’s shower gel is a very similar yellow to the Nana shower gel and Yuzu & Cocoa shower cream. As for its consistency, VVF is a lot closer to a shower gel than the aforementioned Nana; I find Nana more like a shower slime so I was super pleased to find out that the VVF shower gel was closer to how I think a shower gel should look and feel.

A little amount of VVF goes a very long way. Just a 10p sized blob is more than enough to do your whole body. Even when you use a lot, the VVF doesn’t foam up very much which I know will annoy some people. I would however like to point out that although it doesn’t foam up very much, using it does leave me feeling clean, which really is just what you want out of a shower gel!

Once out of the shower my skin appears and feels clean and brighter. I didn’t find VVF shower gel to be particularly moisturising however it didn’t leave me desperate to use a body lotion after either.

After using VVF its scent stays on your skin for the best part of the rest of the day. The scent seems to grow on me the more I use it. I’ve gone from liking it to LOVING it. It’s a shower gel that should have been made by Lush a long time ago. I’d love to see even more products come out with the Space Girl scent soon, I feel that a body spray in particular would fly off the shelves. Hint, hint, Lush! 😉

Boo! Shower Slime from Lush (2019 version)

Boo! Shower Slime

The first shower slimes were released in the Summer of 2019 so at the point of writing this review they are still a relatively new product from Lush. The product type itself is without question quite a conversation starter.

I have heard mixed reviews on the concept of shower slimes but interestingly enough, I have yet to hear a negative review from anyone who has actually given one or all of the shower slimes a go.

With a new season comes new Lush products; This September the Lush Halloween line was unleashed on the world and what a spectacularly spooky line it is… Boo! Shower Slime is the 3rd shower slime to have been released by Lush and with it being jet black, it fits right in with all-things-Halloween.

Before I had, had a chance to see its ingredients list I had imagined the Boo! shower slime to possibly share its scent with one of the year-in, year-out Halloween bath bombs the Lord of Misrule or Monsters’ Ball. I was (as always) wrong, the Boo! shower slime in fact shares its scent with the Bubblegum lip scrub, something I don’t think any of the Lush community were expecting at all.

If you’re unfamiliar with the Bubblegum lip scrubs scent it’s very similar (maybe a little bit sweeter but close enough to be considered the same scent family) to the Snow Fairy shower gels scent. This products scent decision was made by the shower-slime-product-inventor himself as he wanted it to give homage to a Halloween trick or treat haul.

Think sickly-sweet and all things sugar and candy floss. I’ll admit it isn’t my favourite fragrance from Lush’s extensive-scent-library and is normally reserved for Lush’s Christmas products BUT I thought I’d give it a go nevertheless. If anything it would at the least help me to get into the spirit of Halloween!

Shower slime IS very slime-like BUT it’s not that much different to a shower gel. In fact, you pretty much use it just as you would a shower gel. A small amount goes a very long  way making it great value for money. Lush shower slimes have quite a lot of cornflour in them which is what gives them that slightly thicker, milky-dough-like-consistency.

With just a bit of water the slime soon lathers up into something that resembles shower gel. Fear not, shower slimes will definitely not clog up your drains. The horrified-by-slime-people will also be very pleased to hear that Lush shower slimes are also NOT at all sticky.

The shower slime is actually quite fun to play around with and when you finally want to use it for its body-cleansing-purposes, lathers up just as good and as quickly as a shower gel does. One thing I love about Boo! is that it is not only extremely hydrating on your skin but also ever so slightly scrubby (as in super-duper gentle scrubby) which leaves your skin cleansed and magnificently smooth too.

I have not really mentioned anything else about the colour of the Boo! shower slime as in use it’s just like any other shower product from Lush. I was a bit weirded out at the idea of using a jet black shower product back when the Scrub Scrub Scrub shower scrub first came out BUT I had a brilliant experience with it, it left me completely open minded about using the ever-growing list of strangely-popular black Lush products.

I have found that when it comes down to the black products, customers either get really excited about trying them or they freak out asking why you would use such a product in the bath or shower (a place you go in to get clean not dirtier). Boo! however does exactly what I would want any cleansing shower product to do. After using it I am clean and refreshed, no ‘black marks’ are left on me and there isn’t any clean up to do in the shower either.

Although scent wise the Boo! shower slime isn’t my favourite, I enjoyed using it very much. As I mentioned above it left my skin clean, hydrated and unexpectedly smooth so I was more than satisfied in that respect. I’d definitely recommend giving it a try before it’s too late… Hurry! There’s only a few days left until Halloween! 👻💀🎃
