Four Brothers Bath Bomb from Lush

Lush’s latest collaboration with the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles is finally out online and in stores and I couldn’t be any more excited!

The limited edition TMNT x Lush collaboration included a TMNT themed Lush Kitchen Subscription Box and also a collection of online and in store products too.

Today I’ll be reviewing the Four Brothers Bath Bomb which happens to be the only TMNT item that was in both the Lush Kitchen Subscription Box and in stores and online to purchase separately.

I was lucky enough to receive a Four Brothers bath bomb in a surprise box sent from Lush. The excitement of receiving a PR package from Lush never gets old, I am so very grateful every time, thank you, Lush!

The Four Brothers bath bomb comes in four different colours and are the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles heads. Much like their characters, the bath bomb is all green apart from their eye masks.

The turtles head with the red mask is the character Raphael, blue is Leonardo, purple is Donatello and the orange (the one I have pictured in this review) is Michelangelo.

Each of the bath bombs are approximately 440g each, which I believe may be the biggest bath bomb Lush have ever released?!!

The best thing about each of these bath bombs is that a different soap (made into the shape of the Ninja Turtles favourite things) is hidden inside of them!

The Four Brothers bath bomb contains fresh oregano infusion, rapeseed oil, coconut oil, glycerine, lemongrass oil, bergamot oil and organic virgin coconut oil.

It shares its scent with the, Avobath bath bomb. Its scent is super refreshing, citrus-rich and full of zing. Just a quick whiff of it is enough to give you a little boost of energy.

It’s quite a powerful fragrance and one I often crave when I’m feeling a bit sluggish and low on energy.

I always find Lush products that are made into characters very hard to use. With the Four Brothers bath bomb being the face of a character loved by so many people around the world, it felt very strange to use and never see again… BUT, I just kept thinking about the hidden soap inside that I would never see if I didn’t use it. 😏

As the Four Brothers bath bomb comes in to contact with your bath water there is a huge hiss as green foam starts to ooze out of it. After a minute, the foam starts to thin out but is still a bright and bold green colour.

The lemongrass and bergamot in the Four Brothers bath bomb really come through once the bath bomb is in the hot water, it’s a really uplifting fragrance so perfect to use first thing in the morning or for a boost of energy in the afternoon or before a night out.

Once the Four Brothers bath bomb is taken over by the water it starts to spin, the bath bombs mask colour then starts to spill out of the bath bomb too. For me, with the ‘Mikey’ Four Brothers bath bomb, I got orange and green bath art swirls.

With the orange mask part of the bath bomb being so small in comparison to the rest of it being all green, I wasn’t expecting much bath art so was pleasantly surprised to see so much orange.

After just under ten minutes the bath bomb has fully dissolved, the water left behind is so incredibly green. It’s also silky soft thanks to the coconut oil in it.

The water left my skin feeling soft and well hydrated long after getting out of the bath too because of the glycerine.

Overall, I loved the Four Brothers bath bomb, I was so busy watching the orange and green swirls coming out of it that I completely forgot about the soap inside of it.

My soap was the orange pizza slice. (see photo above). Talking about the soap as a separate product, I don’t think I’ve ever had such a strongly fragranced soap from Lush before.

I have left the soap on the side near my bath and every time I go past it, I am hit with the gorgeous Avobath scent. I’ve used it several times too and there’s still no sign of it getting any smaller or worn down.

The Four Brothers bath bomb has left me so excited to review the rest of the TMNT x Lush line!

Ooze Canister Shower Bomb from Lush

Lush’s latest collaboration is with no other than the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. The latest Lush Kitchen Subscription Box (July 2024) was Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle themed and Lush have also released a store and online collection for those not subscribed to the Lush Kitchen.

Today I am reviewing the Ooze Canister Shower Bomb that came in the latest Lush Kitchen Subscription Box. The first thing I noticed about Ooze Canister was how big it is, it’s four, possibly five times bigger than any other shower bomb I have used from Lush before.

You’ll have to excuse my ignorance on all things TMNJ as it was a huge TV show while I was still very young, I can remember my older cousins watching it but not much else so have had to do a little research…

The Ooze Canister is turtle green and has dusted silver details. Both ends are dusted with silver lustre and so is the TCRI letters stamped in its middle. TCRI stands for Techno Cosmic Research Institute and Ooze is the mutagen chemical that transformed the baby turtles into the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles.

The Ooze Canister shower bomb shares its scent with the Bat Art bath bomb from Lush’s most recent Halloween collections. It contains Sicilian lemon oil, green Mandarin oil, rosemary oil and sage oil.

Its scent is best described as a fruity, bitter but sweet blackcurrant fragrance with an almost-medicinal, herbal edge to it.

As I mentioned earlier, the Ooze Canister shower bomb is HUGE. I rarely break up products that aren’t bubbles bars but for this one I recommend breaking it up as a little goes a long way. I say a little goes a long way a lot with Lush bubble bars and shower gels, but the Ooze Canister really does go a ridiculously long way.

I used 1/3rd of it in one shower and it was such a waste. You could easily get six showers out of this one shower bomb; Very different from the small and therefore single use shower bombs such as Beak Street and Strawberry Hill!

To use a shower bomb all you do is take it into the shower with you and hold it under the water, it will instantly foam up and expand. You then begin to cleanse yourself with the foam in the same way as you would use a shower gel.

I recommend breaking up the Ooze Canister shower bomb before getting into the shower to avoid the risk of getting the bits of it you’re not just about to use wet too.

The Ooze Canister foams up quickly and creates a rich and creamy, bright green lather. The bitter but sweet blackcurrant fragrance fills your bathroom and fragrances your skin. It’s made me really wish Lush would release a shower gel equivalent. (There was a prototype, so it technically already exists…) * wink, wink, nudge, nudge Lush! *

Overall, I really enjoyed using the Ooze Canister shower bomb, I just wish I’d known beforehand how far it went. I wholeheartedly recommend breaking it up into six pieces as such a small amount really does go such a long way!

Crème Anglaise Body Lotion from Lush

The Crème Anglaise Body Lotion isn’t a new product from Lush, it however fits in so well with Lush’s latest collaboration with the Netflix’s Bridgerton series, that it has made a reappearance with fancy, Bridgerton themed packaging.

All of the packaged Lush X Bridgerton products have incredibly detailed labels with a regency era vibe. Crème Anglaise sports a baby blue label, that immediately caught my attention.

The in-store and online Bridgerton line was released just in time for the start of season 3. Sadly, I have already finished season 3, but the Bridgerton themed Lush products are really helping fill the void it has left in my life…

I was lucky enough to receive a pot of the Bridgerton themed Crème Anglaise body lotion in a surprise box sent from Lush back in May, but I have bought it for myself before. Thank you, Lush!

The Crème Anglaise body lotions scent is best described as very almondy. It also has hints of vanilla mixed in with it giving it a heady and intense sweet desert-like-fragrance.

Some of the ingredients included in the Bridgerton edition of the Crème Anglaise body lotion are, meadowsweet infusion, organic almond oil, organic cocoa butter, fresh rose petal infusion, organic jojoba oil, tiger lily extract, organic avocado oil, sacha inchi oil, organic cold pressed evening primrose oil, organic orange blossom honey, Brazilian orange oil, myrrh resinoid, vanilla absolute and bees wax.

Over the years, Lush have described the Crème Anglaise body lotion as one of their most luxurious lotions ever.

It is a light nude shade and consistency wise it’s a lot like the Sleepy body lotion; Not too thick that it takes forever to rub in and not so thin you accidentally waste some by spilling it.

A small amount of the Crème Anglaise body lotion goes a very long way. Its thick formula soothes your skin and leaves it soft and perfectly hydrated.

I have found its scent to last only a couple of hours after use, which is different from the other Bridgerton body lotion, Tender is the Night.

This however isn’t a negative for me as I’ve never been a huge fan of sweet-foody scents like Crème Anglaise. The fact that its scent does not last doesn’t bother me at all, I much prefer to focus on the way it leaves my skin feeling after use. It really is luxurious.

The Crème Anglaise body lotion also sinks into your skin quickly, a plus if you’re in a hurry.

Overall, I do really like the Crème Anglaise body lotion, which is something I wasn’t expecting when I first came across it as, as I said earlier, the sweet-foody scented products aren’t the products that I ordinarily reach for. How it leaves my skin has however won the Crème Anglaise body lotion over for me. What a treat!
