Golden Wonder Bath Bomb from Lush

When I very first tried the Golden Wonder bath bomb it made me want winter to last forever, a very bold statement for someone who has always disliked winter and is forever saying that they are cold!

Although I would still describe myself as a through and through summer girl, I am now content when winter arrives, knowing that I will be in the company of a huge amount of new and returning old, yet-much-loved winter Lush products makes it very, very easy.

With all thanks to Lush Cosmetics, what used to be an unbearable time of year for me, is now not just bearable but exciting too.golden-wonder-bath-bombI am ashamed to admit that it took me until Christmas 2015 to actually try the Golden Wonder bath bomb. In years prior to 2015, I just wasn’t at all interested in the collection as a whole. I would always go for other bath bombs that in my eyes, appeared more interesting.

I am mortified that it took me so long to try the Golden Wonder bath bomb and my ignorance with it has taught me to never leave a Lush stone unturned.

After finally using the Golden Wonder bath bomb in 2015 and furthermore instantly falling in love with it, I knew that without the Golden Wonder bath bomb Christmas would never be the same again. It is now one of my essential winter time products.

If Lush ever dared to not bring it back I think I’d have some sort of break down. That is no exaggeration either, I LOVE IT more than any of the other winter bath bombs. Christmas isn’t Christmas if I don’t have the Golden Wonder bath bomb to enjoy.

Golden Wonder Bath Bomb

If I could only use 3 Lush scents for the rest of my life the scent of the Golden Wonder bath bomb would make the list without question.

The scent of the bath bomb is called Celebrate and since falling in love with the Golden Wonder bath bomb, I have made it my mission to collect anything else that shares its scent.

Some of my favourite Lush products from its scent family are the solid and liquid perfume, the First Snow dusting powder and the Celebrate body lotion.

The Celebrate scent is often compared to champagne. I however disagree, the scent of the Golden Wonder bath bomb is way too citrusy for me to ever think of it as champagne inspired. I wouldn’t even put it in the same category as buck’s fizz. I urge anyone who isn’t sure on the scent to please give it a go, the more I use it, the more in love with it I fall.

Containing sweet orange, lime and cognac oil the Golden Wonder bath bomb smells to me just like Christmas, I can’t help but always subconsciously associate the two together.

Celebrate has a warm and inviting scent that it is portrayed very well within all of the other Lush products that are blessed with its same scent. Once you are hooked on one Celebrate product you will be in search for others that smell the same. Before you know it you will be starting a Celebrate-scented-quest. Your mission (which you will have no trouble in choosing to accept) is to combine all of the Celebrate scented products you can lay your hands on to make one Christmas-crazy, Lush product cocktail!

As well as smelling absolutely amazing, the Golden Wonder bath bomb puts on a fantastic show once plonked into your bath water. The very first time I used it I actually shouted ‘OOO!’ followed by me cursing (a lot) as none of the photos I took did the bath bomb any justice at all.

To this day I still haven’t captured any photos that I feel worthy of showing its full potential. You really have to try it for yourself to appreciate its true beauty.

Out of all of the bath bombs I have tried over the years Golden Wonder is still the one I will always remember as giving one of the best surprises upon first use.

When placed in the bath water the Golden Wonder bath bomb begins to ferociously fizz, forming a small stream of dazzlingly gold bubbles. After a short moment other colours appear from within the golden bath bomb too.

Nearer the end of the Golden Wonder’s performance small balls of pink, yellow, green and blue float to the surface, temporarily poker dotting the now deep blue, shimmery bath water.

The Golden Wonder bath bomb is a real pleasure to watch in the bath tub and a great treat for winter tired skin too, an added bonus that I had forgot to mention is the lustre and miniature dissolvable stars in it.

The slight golden shimmer that is left after the bath bomb has dissolved along with the light dusting of stars makes the bath water appear like a clear night’s sky.

Golden Wonder 1

Everything I like about a bath bomb is in Golden Wonder, EVERYTHING!

I am so, so impressed with this bath bomb and was so from very first use. It is one of the only winter bath bombs that I really, really look forward to getting every year.

The Golden Wonder bath bomb will always be one of my all-time favourite Lush products, the only reason I wouldn’t recommend it to others is so that there are more for me to buy and keep all for myself…

Monsters’ Ball Bath Bomb from Lush

Monsters' Ball Bath BombI couldn’t quite believe my eyes when I very first see the huge pile of Monsters’ Ball bath bombs at 2016’s Lush Creative Showcase. At the time I was so taken back by its quirky, one-eyed design that I completely missed the fact that it was Calacas scented.

To my delight the Monsters’ Ball bath bomb not only smells identical to one of my all time favourite Lush Kitchen bath bombs the, The Enchanter Bath Bomb but it also puts on quite the colourful-bath-time-show. Other Calacas scented bath bombs such as the Skullduggery bath bomb although very pleasant in the water, do not have the same wow factor as Monsters’ Ball when it comes down to bath art.

As soon as you place the Monsters’ Ball bath bomb into your bath water it starts to hiss, an explosion of purple-pink foam fizzes out of it as it bobs and rolls around the waters surface. The water instantly begins to feel silkier, as its inviting Calacas scent fills your bathroom you can’t help but lay back, relax and enjoy all of its beauty, it’s a treat for every single one of your senses.

Monsters’ Ball contains both lime and neroli oil. My first Lush memory of neroli oil is from the Frozen bath bomb. I wasn’t sure of it at first but I have grown to love its scent. Neroli is a really bitter-citrus-scent on its own, in Monsters’ ball the bitterness of the neroli is however completely washed out by the lime oil. The lime oil rounds off the neroli ingredient giving Monsters’ Ball a sweet, much lighter and somewhat warming citrus-scent.

Neroli oil has been scientifically proven to increase the levels of serotonin (the happy hormone) in your brain, therefore if you need a bath that will boost your spirits Monsters’ Ball is a good bath bomb to go for. Once the bath bomb has been in the water for a little while it begins to spin, creating even more beautiful purple foamy patterns with blue streaks too.

As the bath bomb dances around your bath, the water slowly turns a dark and sparkly purple colour. Its scent stays with you through out the bath and I can still smell it on my skin the next day. I can’t get enough of the Calacas scent, it’s so cheery and always lifts my mood.

Monsters’ Ball may look completely different from any bath bomb Lush have made before but it really is a fantastic bath bomb that I wish Lush had created and sold years and years ago. Not only does it smell fabulous but it also creates beautiful bath art that is sure to catch anyone’s attention. Just look at the photos!

The final thing I like about Monsters’ Ball is that its one eye is actual, vegan chocolate. I however wouldn’t recommend eating it, let your bath have the chocolate treat. Your skin will thank you for it I promise.

I will be stocking up on the Monsters’ Ball bath bombs before Halloween is over without question. It’s such an amazing addition to the Halloween product line and has made 2016’s line the best from Lush yet, if this bath bomb doesn’t return year in year out there will be trouble! 😉

Autumn Leaf Bath Bomb from Lush

autumn-leaf-bath-bombWhen I very first see the Autumn Leaf bath bomb at the Lush Creative Showcase I was really excited. Why? because it is unlike anything Lush have created before.

At this time of year and with Halloween just around the corner… (sorry guys, I hate to be the bearer of bad news but we are now very close to the 4th and final quarter of 2016) … I always find myself drowning in pumpkins, ghosts and skeletons. As much as I love the season, I think that autumn time is about so much more than just things that go bump in the night.

The lack of spookiness that the Autumn Leaf bath bomb has was what first attracted me to it.

autumn leaf pile.jpg

At the Lush Creative Showcase the Autumn Leaf bath bombs were piled high. Even in a room that was full of hundreds of other products you could pin point the Autumn Leafs on scent alone.

The Autumn Leaf bath bomb has a very refreshing, outdoorsy and earthy aroma. For anyone that loves Lush as much as me you’d know that it shares its scent with all of the products in the Grass Lush-scent family.

Grass isn’t my favourite of the Lush scents so I haven’t used many of the products with its scent. The colours and design of this bath bomb however won me over, with that all in mind I feel its earthy and outdoorsy scent suits the autumn season perfectly making it a must have autumn and winter bath bomb.

When you first place the Autumn Leaf bath bomb into your bath water it instantly starts to react. Pastel green foam fizzes from it, slowly decorating the bath water with a thin coat of silky-smooth foam.

As time goes on other colours appear from it too.

As well as the greens there are golds, reds and oranges – All of the amazing colours associated with autumn.

Autumn Leaf is a very slow fizzer. It reminds me of the Skydancer Far from the Madding Guns Bath Bomb because of the way it floats, most other bath bombs float at the top for a short time before spinning, getting the whole of it wet. Autumn Leaf however stays face up, gracefully floating around the bath until it eventually all dissolves.

Overall I really enjoyed using the Autumn Leaf bath bomb, regardless of its Grass scent, (I am always never quite sure if I like it or not but in Autumn Leaf I did!)

Being honest as always, Autumn Leaf didn’t excite me once in the water as much as other bath bombs that have been released by Lush this month. This does not mean I dislike it, I still totally recommend trying it at least once.

The bath art it creates is beautiful and I found myself humming the Disney song from the Pocahontas film while in the bath with it, ‘Can you paint with all the colours of the wind?‘ 😉
