Love Letter Bath Bomb from Lush

The Love Letter Bath Bomb is a brand-new, limited-edition product from Lush’s 2024 Valentine’s Day line.

Weighing in at just 85g, the Love Letter bath bomb is one of Lush’s smallest bath bombs to date BUT if there is one thing that Lush has taught me it is that bigger doesn’t necessarily mean better. I also never judge a bath bomb on first look as the plainer ones can often give you the best surprises in the water too…

Love Letter is just that, a bath bomb designed to look just like a love letter, this envelope shaped bath bomb is sealed with a bright pink heart, and it is decorated with a sprinkling of dissolvable love hearts just like the Love Boat bath bomb had.

The Love Letter bath bomb contains coconut milk powder, fair trade organic cocoa butter, bergamot oil, olibanum oil and geranium oil.

It shares its scent with several very popular products, Yummy Yummy Yummy shower gelPeeping Santa bubbleroon and the Strawberries and Cream bath bomb just to name a few.

Love Letter’s scent is best described as a sweet and super-creamy, strawberry scent. It’s mouth wateringly good.

As soon as the Love Letter bath bomb touches the water you are greeted with a gentle hiss as white bubbles spill out of the bath bomb. Soon after putting it in to the water small beads of yellow cocoa butter also start to come out of the bath bomb melting into your hot water in a similar way to the Butterball bath bomb.

You’d be safe in assuming that the Love Letter bath bomb doesn’t offer anything too colourful bath-art-wise, but it does put on such a unique performance.

The dissolvable love hearts slowly break free from the bath bomb as the envelope part of the bath bomb gets taken over by the water; What I like best about the Love Letter bath bomb is that the bright pink heart is the very last bit of the bath bomb to dissolve, it’s a very clever design!

The Love Letter bath bomb takes approximately five minutes to fully dissolve which is a lot longer than I expected considering its smaller size, it turns your bath water a very light lilac colour. The scent is still strong but slightly gentler once the bath bomb has fully dissolved.

I found the waters left behind by the Love Letter bath bomb to be incredibly moisturising, more so than I originally thought as I didn’t expect it to have as much cocoa butter in it as it did.

The sweet strawberry scent of the bath bomb remains in your bathroom long after you pull the plug too.

The scent can also still be detected on your skin long after getting out of the bath but at a much more subtle level.

Overall, I LOVE this bath bomb. It might not be the brightest or biggest bath bomb in the Valentine’s Day line BUT the attention Lush have put into all of its little details really shines through, especially during use.

The scent and the fact that the pink heart is the last part of the bath bomb to disappear makes for such a unique bathing experience, I really hope this bath bomb comes back every Valentine’s day as it’s brilliant!

Big Squeeze Bath Bomb from Lush (UK edition)

The Big Squeeze Bath Bomb is a brand-new, limited-edition product from Lush’s 2024 Valentine’s Day line.

Valentine’s day is traditionally celebrated with your romantic partner, but this year Lush have made several products that cater to a celebration of love in general, love for your friends, love for your family, all things LOVE.

Big Squeeze is a two coloured, heart shaped bath bomb; One side is purplish blue, and the other side is pink. Each side has a little cartoon face on and one arm each, they are embracing each other in a ‘big squeeze’ of a cuddle!

The Big Squeeze bath bomb contains both juniperberry and sweet wild orange giving it a sour grape scent.

Being honest as always, it’s not one of my favourite Lush scents, it’s quite artificial and incredibly strong but I’ll speak more about that when we get onto what happens to the bath bomb once it is placed into your bath water.

Weighing in at approximately 135g each, the Big Squeeze bath bomb is quite big but thinner than your average Lush bath bomb. I have heard of some people snapping it in half to use over two baths or to share it with a friend, but I wanted to use my one whole.

As soon as the Big Squeeze bath bomb touches the water you are greeted with a gentle stream of purplish blue and pink bubbles. The coloured bubbles are incredibly foamy, growing as the bath bomb fizzes away.

The Big Squeeze bath bomb is not fantastic bath-art-wise despite it being two very bold colours, I was expecting a little more bath art but with it being a fast fizzer it wasn’t meant to be.

The Big Squeeze bath bomb takes approximately three and a half minutes to fully dissolve and turns your bath water a barley-pink colour. The scent is still strong but slightly gentler once the bath bomb has fully dissolved.

Which, I find is a much more tolerable scent-strength for a bath bomb with a fragrance this powerful.

I found the waters left behind by the Big Squeeze bath bomb smooth and silky to the touch. The scent remains in your bathroom (although not as strongly) for a good two to three hours after you pull the plug too.

The scent can also still be detected on your skin long after getting out of the bath but again, not nearly as strong as the bath bomb’s scent is before you place it into your bath water; I actually much prefer the sour grape scent when it is more subtle.

How it smells on my skin once I’m out of the bath actually won the product over for me.

In the end I really enjoyed using the Big Squeeze bath bomb, I’d have maybe liked some more bath art from it but that’s just me being picky!

Ochre Bath Bomb from Lush

Previously known as the Uluru bath bomb The newly named Ochre Bath Bomb is an orange and dusky pink bath bomb designed in a very similar way to the Frozen bath bomb.

It is mostly orange but has a dusky pink belt around its middle (the same way that the Frozen bath bomb is mostly light blue with a dark blue belt.)

The colours of this bath bomb have been very cleverly selected for showcasing a kaleidoscope of Australian sunset colours; Oranges, yellows, pinks, and corals.

The Ochre bath bomb has a wonderful mix of summery ingredients, Brazilian orange, sandalwood, and lemon myrtle oils to name just a few. Scent wise the Ochre bath bomb is quite literally Summer in bath bomb form. It is perfect for anyone missing the sunshine, especially at this time of year.

At the time of writing this review, the Ochre bath bomb last appeared in January 2024’s ‘Rise & Shine’ Lush Kitchen subscription box BUT under its old name, it used to feature on the weekly Lush Kitchen menu quite regularly.

The Ochre bath bomb is a gloriously rich, citrus-scented product. If you have read any of my previous Lush reviews, you’ll know that I tend to favour the citrus products as I feel they are an easy way to add a spring to your step.

The Ochre bath bomb on its scent alone is a citrus fans dream product and once it gets plonked into your bath water the scent just gets better and better!

The Ochre bath bomb isn’t great bath art wise BUT what it lacks in bath art, it well makes up for with its zingy scent.

Once placed in the water the Ochre bath bombs scent totally dominates the bathroom and leaves you feeling refreshed and content.

Packed with a shed load of coarse-sea-salt, the Ochre bath bomb is not only an excellent product for softening and hydrating your skin but also great for tired and sore muscles too.

The Ochre bath bomb is quite a fast fizzer which isn’t a negative, the fact it dissolves so quickly in the water means that I can lay back and relax a lot quicker than I can when using other bath bombs, it also means I get a little longer to soak in the beautiful Ochre bath water too.

Up against its shower gel equivalent the Uluru shower gel, the Ochre bath bomb is far more moisturising for your skin; Both leave your skin appearing brighter and feeling softer but the bath bomb is definitely the better option for dehydrated skin.

Overall, I really enjoyed using the Ochre bath bomb, I was a little disappointed with the lack of bath art it created but its scent and how it makes my skin feel after using it well makes up for there not being any.
