Golden Pineapple Lip Scrub from Lush

The Golden Pineapple Lip Scrub is set to be released at the end of September as a part of Lush’s 2021 Winter line.

Pineapple is one of my favourite fruits and not just to eat. I love it in decor too, right now, I have pineapples on my bedding, pineapple photo frames  on my wall and even a pineapple light. Pineapples feature in one way or another in every room of my house so naturally I was very excited when we first heard rumours about a new pineapple lip scrub.

The first thing that I noticed about the Golden Pineapple lip scrub was its snazzy label. It’s an eye-catching holographic gold, the label changes slightly depending on how the light hits it, I don’t think I have ever been as interested in a label before, it certainly makes a change from Lush’s normal-standard plain black and white labels.

When I first took off the lid and gave the Golden Pineapple lip scrub a sniff, I hadn’t looked at what ingredients it had in it. My nose immediately picked up on something a little spicy, within just a few seconds the sweet pineapple scent did however come through too. I quickly flipped the pot to see what ingredients it had in it as I wasn’t expecting a spicy element at all…

The Golden Pineapple lip scrub contains pineapple powder, yellow Mandarin oil, ginger absolute, golden caster sugar, ordinary caster sugar and plenty of organic jojoba oil and fair-trade shea butter. The ginger in it was the culprit for the slight spicy element and looking at the ingredients written down, I would never have thought to put pineapple and ginger together, but they both complement each other brilliantly.

The main ingredient in Lush’s lip scrubs is caster sugar. To this day I am still amazed that such a simple blend of natural ingredients can do such a thorough, yet gentle job of exfoliating your lips AND without drying them out. I love that the Golden Pineapple lip scrub is both warming and fruity, it’s the perfect Wintertime sugar scrub!

Using Lush lip scrubs requires the minimum amount of effort. They cover everything your lips need to always look their best. They are the perfect product to exfoliate dry, chapped lips and are also very good at softening and hydrating them at the same time. Exfoliating your lips has never been easier (or tastier) thanks to the Golden Pineapple. I will most certainly be keeping a pot of the Golden Pineapple lip scrub in my handbag throughout the whole of Winter. Dare I say Golden Pineapple is my new favourite Lush lip scrub? 😉

To use a Lush lip scrub all you have to do is scoop out a little with your finger and then buff your lips with it before licking off the excess. It’s easy enough to use on the go and the pot is small enough to have in your hand bag/purse too.

Another of my favourite things about the Golden Pineapple lip scrub is its colouring. It looks like it could be just a pot of golden caster sugar, I don’t think I have ever disliked a lip scrub from Lush but I do find that the more colourful ones such as the Unicorn and Galaxy lip scrubs, can leave an ever so subtle (but definitely noticeable) blue tinge on your lips, using less is more in the case of the Unicorn and Galaxy lip scrubs but when it comes down to the Golden Pineapple lip scrub, you can over indulge as much as you like without fear of turning your lips a different colour.

I am totally in love with the Golden Pineapple lip scrub, I can’t wait for it to hit the shops and I hope it sells well as it’s an absolutely perfect lip scrub that I’d love to see go mainline. The lip scrubs Lush keep creating just seem to be getting better and better! ❤️

Angels Delight Bath Bomb from Lush

If you’re like me and are not a huge fan of the Winter products that are in-your-face Christmas, the Angels Delight Bath Bomb would be a good choice for you.

It’s an eye-catching and bright hot pink bath bomb decorated with a yellow half-moon. Its easy-on-the-eye design reminds me ever so slightly of the old Shoot for the Stars bath bomb from Lush Christmas lines many years ago.

The Angels Delight bath bomb is the same size as the Butterball bath bomb so is on the smaller size. Throughout the years I have however learnt to never judge a bath bomb on its look and size alone.

After how impressed I was with another smaller bath bomb from this years Christmas range, the Tick-Tock bath bomb I couldn’t wait to see how Angels Delight performed in the bath.

Angels Delight has a sweet, citrus fruit fragrance. Containing both orange and tangerine oils it’s the perfect bath bomb if you’re in need of a Winter pick me up. Its scent is uplifting, refreshing and an energy boost all rolled into one.

It’s fragrance actually really reminds me of sunny holidays making it the perfect Winter escape. Perfect if you’re feeling the lockdown blues.

As soon as the Angels Delight bath bomb touches the water you are greeted with an explosion of pink, thick foam.

Even though Angels Delight is small, it’s a relatively slow fizzer. With it being so small I was expecting a very small amount of bath art BUT as it spins, floating around the waters surface, pinks, maroons, yellows and oranges spindles out of it creating bright and beautiful swirling patterns galore.

My photographs in this review do the Angels Delight bath bomb no justice at all. I’m still a little in shock at how much bath art this tiny bath bomb created. It puts some of the larger bath bombs to shame.

The saying that all good things come in small packages has never been a more accurate statement!

Once the Angels Delight bath bomb is fully dissolved the water left behind is a bright, bright orange. I couldn’t help but take a photo of it, it really is like a bath full of liquid sun shine.

The water left behind is silky smooth and super hydrating. Once out of the bath my dry Winter skin was noticeably brighter and most of its dryness had gone. Its uplifting scent also remained on my skin for the best part of the rest of the day too.

Overall I am really impressed with the Angels Delight bath bomb, please don’t let its smaller size trick you into thinking it wouldn’t be as good as some of the bigger ones Lush have on offer.

I will most certainly be grabbing a few more of these before the Christmas stock retires at the end of the year!

Toffee Apple Lip Scrub from Lush

The Toffee Apple Lip Scrub is yet another brand new product created for Lush’s 2020 Halloween line. I use Lush lip scrubs almost every day so whenever a new one is released I always try to buy a pot.

The main ingredient in Lush lip scrubs is caster sugar. To this day I am still lost for words that such a simple and natural ingredient can do such a great job at creating smooth and hydrated lips. Why other cosmetic companies ever felt the need to use micro-plastics in their exfoliating products when we have always had sugar to-hand is beyond me.

Just like the Unicorn lip scrub, Toffee Apple also has 2 different layers. Its top layer is bright green and its bottom layer is a Halloween-spooky-special, BLOOD RED. Both layers aren’t just different colours either, they are also different flavours/scents. The green layer is apple and the red layer is sickly-sweet sticky toffee. The perfect mix of both sweet and sour!

Lush lip scrubs make maintaining the perfect pout ridiculously easy, they cover everything your lips need to always feel and look their best. Sugar is an excellent ingredient for gently buffing away dead and dry skin from your lips while the organic jojoba oils and shea butters are good for softening and hydrating them.

Exfoliating your lips has so many benefits and has never been easier thanks to Lush.

As well as the ingredients I mentioned above, the Toffee Apple lip scrub also contains, bergamot, geranium and sandalwood oils. It’s sweet and sour scent is incredibly moreish.

Being honest as always, I do love the 2 different coloured layers mixed together, it’s toffee-apple scented heaven BUT as a die-hard fan of all things apple I couldn’t help but think that the apple layer would also sell very well on its own.

I’m just thinking out loud but maybe as a Valentine’s Day product? I’m thinking a fairytale-apple-theme to work alongside the newly released Once Upon A Time body spray?! 😉

Just like the Galaxy lip scrub from last years Christmas line, Toffee Apple is very pigmented. This means that I recommend using a little amount at a time to prevent any colour transfer. You do actually only need a small amount for it to work but just in case you liked the taste so much that you were tempted to over indulge, be careful so you aren’t left with green tinged lips!

Overall I really do like the Toffee Apple lip scrub, it’s not my favourite lip scrub from Lush but it’s one I’d happily buy again if given the opportunity. A huge positive about it is that it’s a lot more hydrating than any other lip scrub I have used from Lush before.
