Dreidel, Dreidel, Dreidel Bath Bomb from Lush (2024)

The Dreidel, Dreidel, Dreidel Bath Bomb first came out last year as a part of Lush’s 2023 Hanukkah collection. This year, it’s back but with a slight difference.

For the remainder of this review, I will refer to the bath bomb as just the Dreidel bath bomb (to make it easier for me to write, and you to read this review!)

This bath bomb was inspired by a dreidel which is a spinning-top-toy that is traditionally played with on the Jewish festival of Hanukkah.

A dreidel (just like this bath bomb) has four sides, and each side has a different Hebrew letter on it.

I normally only include one top photo of a Lush product in my reviews but couldn’t resist sharing two with you in this review because I wanted you to be able to see the design a little better.

This year, the Dreidel bath bomb is a gorgeous shade of midnight blue, very similar in colour to the Christmas Eve bubble bar.

Each of the Hebrew letters on the Dreidel bath bomb are made to stand out and are coated in silver.

The Dreidel bath bomb from last year was purple with gold letters, a review on it can be found here: Dreidel, Dreidel, Dreidel bath bomb (2023).

The Dreidel bath bomb shares its scent with the Apple Crumble bubble bar.

The best way to describe its scent is as baked apple slices sprinkled with cinnamon sugar. It’s a very warm and inviting fragrance that leaves you wanting more.

Ingredients wise, the Dreidel bath bomb contains some of the following: myrrh resinoid, orange flower absolute and cinnamon leaf oil.

Each Dreidel bath bomb is approximately 150g each and fits in my hand perfectly.

Although you cannot get the Dreidel bath bomb to work as a proper spinning top, you can spin it straight into your bath…

As soon as the Dreidel bath bomb meets your bath water you are greeted with a burst of dark blue foam.

As the water takes over the bath bomb, a lighter, sky blue foam starts to appear from the Dreidel bath bomb.

It doesn’t take long for the thin layer of silver on the four Hebrew letters on each side of the Dreidel bath bomb to decorate the surface of the water with tiny patches of silver.

If you’ve ever seen or used foil in arts and crafts, or even in nail art, you’ll understand what I mean when I say that the silver patches remind me of this when the Dreidel bath bomb is placed in water.

The silver disperses into tiny clumps, creating an almost crackled effect. It’s remarkably similar to how the gold coating on The Wizard bath bomb goes once it is placed in the water (but obviously on a much smaller scale as Dreidel isn’t completely covered like The Wizard).

I didn’t manage to capture a decent photograph of this foil/crackle effect happening like I did with last year’s Dreidel bath bomb BUT if you look at the photo below, you can see a little of the silver in the top left!

The Dreidel bath bomb takes approximately 16 minutes to dissolve, a whole four more minutes than last year’s version. While it didn’t create much visual bath art, I did enjoy the initial blue and silver flecked foam near the beginning of its time in the water.

Overall, I really enjoyed using the Dreidel bath bomb, the end water is the most incredible shade of dark blue. The scent also sits well on my skin, and I could still smell it in my bathroom long after the last drop of the bath water went down the plug hole.

Like last years, I’d still have liked to have seen a little more bath art out of it but other than that it was a very enjoyable bath bomb.

My skin felt soft after use and its scent (although subtle) stayed on my skin for the rest of the day too. I’m glad that this bath bomb came back and am wondering whether Lush will change its colour again next year?

Laughing Santa Shower Jelly from Lush

The Laughing Santa Shower Jelly is a brand-new, limited-edition product from Lush’s 2024 Christmas line.

It is a bold shade of red and has been made into the shape of Santa doing a star jump, or is he making a snow angel? Either way, he’s cute!

Each Laughing Santa shower jelly is 225g so a little bigger than the Snow Angel Choir shower jelly from the same line.

Laughing Santa contains some of the following ingredients: star anise infusion, carrageenan extract, fresh apple juice, Sicilian lemon oil, lime oil, ho wood oil and jasmine absolute.

Its scent is the same as one of my all-time favourite Lush Valentine’s Day products, the Strawberry Heart shower jelly.

Laughing Santa has a vibrant and mouth-wateringly good strawberry scent that fills the room as soon as you take off its lid. As for when it is with you in a hot and steamy shower, its juicy aroma just becomes even more irresistible!

With Laughing Santa being a novelty shaped shower jelly, I wondered how long it would last as unfortunately I find that most of the novelty shaped shower jellies aren’t always as sturdy and robust as the normal, pot-shaped-ones.

The Laughing Santa shower jelly however still hasn’t shown any signs of wear and tear after four uses so that blows my novelty shaped shower jelly theory out of the window…

I’m not saying it is indestructible but it’s certainly tougher than I thought, making it worth every penny!

There is no right or wrong way to use a shower jelly, I prefer to use mine in the same way as you would a bar of soap, whole. Some people however chop their shower jellies up using a few pieces at a time, this is a good method if you’re sharing it with someone else.

Although, if you do keep it whole, Laughing Santa is big enough to fit in your hand making it a lot easier to keep a hold of in the shower. Once you’ve used it, simply rinse it off and then pop it back into the pot leaving it ready and waiting for you when you next want to use it.

The Laughing Santa shower jelly lathers up effortlessly when mixed with hot water. Once you feel like you’ve lathered it up enough, simply work the residue in to your hands and body just like you would a soap or shower gel.

You barely need to lather the Laughing Santa at all—a tiny amount goes a very long way, which is a quality I absolutely love in any Lush product.

As I stated earlier, The Laughing Santa shower jellies scent is incredibly vibrant and has real staying power. As soon as you take the shower jellies lid off you are hit with its fragrance, so it was no surprise that after using it, my skin still smelt of it several hours later.

As well as leaving me smelling fabulous, it also left my skin feeling silky smooth and looking refreshed and brighter.

Overall, the Laughing Santa shower jelly is a delightful addition to Lush’s 2024 Christmas range. Its cute design, the jellies durability, and its vibrant and long lasting strawberry scent makes it one of the standout Lush products this Winter!

Christmas Capybara Bath Bomb from Lush

The Christmas Capybara Bath Bomb is a brand-new, limited edition product from Lush’s 2024 Christmas line, I was fortunate enough to receive one as a gift from Lush.

It is described by Lush as ‘the sweetest addition to the Lush festive family.’ And I couldn’t agree with Lush more.

I’m a little shocked at the amount of people that had never heard of a capybara until this bath bomb was released, where have you been?!?!!

For anyone that finds themselves reading this review and doesn’t know what a capybara is, fear no more as I’m about to explain… A capybara is the world’s largest living rodent, I have always thought they look just like gigantic guinea pigs.

After doing a quick bit of research on the internet, I have learnt that adult capybaras can grow up to 134cm’s in length, 62cm’s tall and can weigh up to 146 pounds, so a lot bigger than a guinea pig!

The Christmas Capybara bath bomb is quite true to an actual capybara shape wise; It’s bright orange and is wearing a red and white Christmas hat.

The capybara bath bomb is sat down, and Lush have even gone as far as to add little details such as, a little eye, one exposed ear and jagged lumps that look like clumps of its fur, it’s almost too cute to let it go down the drain.

Each Christmas Capybara bath bomb is approximately 100g making it the perfect size for fitting in my hand.

Some of the ingredients included in the Christmas Capybara bath bomb are lime oil, sweet wild orange oil and olibanum resinoid.

The scent of the Christmas Capybara bath bomb is zesty, fruity and incredibly vibrant. It is a very powerful scent, a little sharp and has a slightly woody undertone in it that never fails to lighten my mood whenever I am near it.

Better known products that share its scent include the Never Mind The Ballistics bath bomb and I Want My Mummy Bath Bomb (2024).

Zesty products such as the Christmas Capybara bath bomb are perfect for me to use in the Winter as where it is permanently cold and day light is scarce, I always need a boost; The Christmas Capybaras scent leaves me feeling refreshed, energised and considerably happier.

As soon as the Christmas Capybara bath bomb touches the water it begins to fizz away, releasing a thin stream of orange foam from the capybaras body and red from the capybaras hat.

There’s also a small amount of white foam from the capybaras hat but it soon disappears before coming back once the bath water completely takes over the bath bomb, it is then that the bath art begins.

I wasn’t expecting much bath art from the Christmas Capybara bath bomb but was pleasantly surprised with the orange, white and red colours that spin out of it sitting upon the surface of your bath water.

The Christmas Capybara bath bomb was a very slow fizzer taking just over 12 minutes to fully dissolve. Recently I have used a lot of bath bombs that were very quick fizzers, so it was nice to have a super slow one after so long!

Once the Christmas Capybara has dissolved it leaves behind the most gorgeous bright yellow water that I couldn’t help but swish around.

After leaving the bath, my skin felt hydrated and soft. The scent also remained on my skin for the rest of the day although, not nearly as powerful as when you have the bath bomb in your hand. On your skin it is noticeable but delicate, just how I like it.

Overall, The Christmas Capybara is cute, has a strong and vibrant scent that lasts and creates bath art galore. What more could you want in a bath bomb?

I think it is not only one of my favourite products from the 2024 Christmas line but also one of my favourite bath bombs from 2024; A bold statement indeed when just this year I’ve reviewed over 60 bath bombs!

I have my fingers crossed that the Christmas Capybara returns next Christmas and would love to see more Capybara bath bombs in other future seasonal lines…

Imagine a Love Expert Capybara for Valentine’s or a Mama Capybara for Mother’s Day? WE COULD HAVE A WHOLE FAMILY OF CAPYBARA BATH BOMBS! Lush, if you’re reading this, here am I begging for you to consider a capybara bath bomb takeover!

Whether you’re a capybara lover or just seeking some me time this Winter, the Christmas Capybara bath bomb is guaranteed to brighten your day!
