The Comforter Shower Cream from Lush

The Comforter Shower Cream.png

The Comforter Shower Cream shares its scent with the much loved, The Comforter bubble bar. When I first got into Lush I had no idea that Lush Cosmetics made their own unique scents, I didn’t even know that the most popular scents were used in several different product formats. This was the case until I one day see that the Twilight bath bomb had a shower gel equivalent. Once I learnt about Lush’s scent families my need to try everything grew out of control, hence this blog!

Much like the Yuzu and Cocoa shower cream, The Comforter is a gloriously thick and velvety formula. I hope that Lush decide to expand their collection of shower creams in the foreseeable future as the creams feel so much more luxurious on the skin in comparison to the shower gels. Not that I dislike Lush’s shower gels, the creams are just in my opinion that little bit more of a treat.

Just like the Bubble Bar of the same name, The Comforter shower cream is a vibrant, hot-pink colour. At first I wasn’t that sold on the shower cream’s scent. I thought it was a lot stronger than the bubble bar equivalent and I actually gave my first barely used bottle to my friend before I’d even given it a proper chance.

I love to join in on all of the Lush discussions on Instagram or Facebook and one day The Comforter shower cream was the topic of conversation. I mentioned that I adored the bubble bar but couldn’t get as excited about it when it came down to the shower cream because of how strong its scent was. A fellow Lushie told me to try it again, keeping in mind how lovely it will make my skin smell once I was out of the shower.

I therefore tried it again promising myself that I would give it more of a chance this  time, the scent was still stronger than the bubble bar but I realised it wasn’t an offensive strong. Once the shower cream was mixed in with the hot shower water I actually see (or should I say smelt) the shower cream in a whole new light.

Just like the Yuzu and Cocoa shower cream, The Comforter’s scent remains on your skin all day, it’s a very gentle scent on your skin and one that I have grown to love. The Comforter has as the name suggests a very comforting scent, packed with cassis absolute and blackberry infusion it’s BERRY nice. (Sorry, I couldn’t resist…)

The cassis and blackberry ingredients alongside the vanilla and bergamot is what makes the scent of this shower cream so very inviting. Washing with it really is like being wrapped up in a warm and snuggly hug. The Comforter shower cream also contains almond oil which is a bonus if your skin is in need of some extra hydration. The shower creams are always my go to when my skin needs a little bit of extra TLC.

Another thing I feel is worth mentioning before I finish this review is that a little of the product goes a very long way, (if you’re not as gluttonous with it as my husband is anyway.)

The Comforter shower cream lasts well beyond its shelf life too, after 6 months plus it will need a bit of a shake in between uses because the ingredients in it will naturally begin to separate but after a quick shake, it goes back to it being as good as new.

I am so glad that I was convinced to try this product out again as I really like it now. I am always looking for new Comforter scented products to add to my ever growing collection. I hope they bring back the solid perfume again soon as I bitterly regret not picking one of them up when they were available.

Prince Charming Shower Cream from Lush

Shower Creams are still relatively new to Lush, the first one I ever tried was Yuzu and Cocoa. I think it was just under 3 years ago, I loved it and upon first use I was very keen to try others.

I was delighted to see that for Lush’s 2016 Valentine range, Lush were bringing out a never before been released shower cream called Prince Charming.

In previous years it had only ever been released as a shower gel. At the time I hadn’t actually come across the Prince Charming scent before, not even in the shower gel format, the scent was therefore brand new to me.

Arguably I could just read what ingredients it had on the website, doing that normally doesn’t help me much at all though. I have found that most of the time the scent of a Lush product is never quite how you had envisioned it while reading it’s ingredients list. Similar based products can be so different in so many ways which is why you really do have to try everything that Lush has on offer at least once.

Looking at Prince Charming the first thing you notice is of course how strikingly pink it is.

Upon first glance it reminded me of the Comforter shower cream, I really, really wanted to like it and had heard several people raving about it so took the plunge and ordered a 100g bottle to get me started. Let’s just say I was very happy upon first sniff and was kicking myself that I hadn’t ordered a bigger bottle.

Unlike the Lord of Misrule and Comforter shower cream I didn’t find Prince Charmings scent at all offensive, it was sweet but not so sweet that too much could make me feel sick.

More is definitely good with Prince Charming, take it from me!

While snooping online I noticed that a lot of people were saying that the Prince Charming shower cream smelt very similar to the Yuzu and Cocoa shower cream.

At first I rolled my eyes, I thought what madness is this?! BUT the next time I was in the bath and I had another sniff I realised that they weren’t mad at all, there was a huge similarity between the two. I really don’t know how I had missed it.

Prince Charming isn’t as sharp as Yuzu and Cocoa, it’s a lot more mellow and in my opinion better for a night time bath or shower as it has less zing. It is yet another perfect ly scented Lush product that works beautifully if you’re looking to wind down after a long day.

Although I am finding myself using a bit more product than I normally would to get it to lather, I really don’t mind as it is such a gentle and smooth formula that soothes and moisturises my skin perfectly. Like Yuzu and Cocoa I can smell it on my skin for the rest of the day after using it which is always the signs of a brilliant Lush product.

In regards to the shower creams in general, I know that the bright colours can put people off. The first time I used Yuzu and Cocoa it was so yellow when putting it on my body that I felt like I was Homer Simpson. I felt exactly the same when first applying Prince Charming, the pinkness of it took me back a little but it lathered up nicely enough and rinsed off just fine. I actually quite liked being covered in pink loveliness even if it was only briefly…

I am so glad that Lush have decided to bring Prince Charming shower cream back as a part of their 2017 Valentine’s day range. Prince Charming can get in the bath with me any day, any time!

Yuzu and Cocoa Shower Cream from Lush

When I first got into Lush I was so focused on the bath bombs and bubble bars that the other products didn’t really have much of a chance to impress me. Bath bombs, bubble bars and shower jellies are unique to Lush, there’s not many other cosmetic companies that specialise in them and it’s those 3 specific, quirky products that initially got me into their store in the first place.

After I had pretty much exhausted every choice of bubble bar and bath bomb currently available at Lush I decided to try some more of their products. – Enter the Yuzu and Cocoa Shower Cream.

I knew of the Yuzu and Cocoa scent from the yellow bubbleroon that goes by the same name, I thought it had a beautiful scent but I always favoured the bigger bubble bars as I felt they were better value for money. When the flagship Lush store in Oxford Street opened their doors for the very first time one of its exclusive products was the Yuzu and Cocoa Shower Cream.

As liquid shower products go, the Yuzu and Cocoa shower cream is slightly thicker in consistency to others I have tried before, a little however goes a very long way. The tiniest of drops can clean my whole body as well as keeping my skin soft and well hydrated – there is no need to moisturise after using this.

The Yuzu and Cocoa scent is amazing, it’s like swimming in a sea of Jaffa Cakes. It really is my idea of heaven. My mum was pushing me around Sainsbury’s once and I had used the shower cream earlier that day, I noticed that I could really smell the box of jaffa cakes on the shelf, it wasn’t until a little while later when we were in the freezer section that I thought to myself wow I can still smell the jaffa cakes, I then realised it was in fact me that smelt like jaffa cakes! The Yuzu and Cocoa scent stays with you ALL DAY, I haven’t come across another Lush scent that lasts so long, it truly is beautiful.

Packed with tonka, grapefruit and bergamot oils Yuzu and Cocoa shower cream is the perfect pick me up product, I always find using it lifts my mood. Since discovering Lush I have completely changed my mind set on grapefruit. Growing up I hated it but for some reason, every product that Lush creates with grapefruit in really, really impresses my nose. So there you go, Lush have persuaded me to break a habit of a lifetime, I now, thanks to this shower cream and the Frozen Bath Bomb, have a level of appreciation for grapefruit that I have never had before.

Lush Kitchen really need to make a whole load more Yuzu and Cocoa scented products as the bubbleroon and shower cream just isn’t enough for me any more, I NEED MORE! Imagine a Yuzu and Cocoa shower jelly or body lotion, wow.

You have got to try the Yuzu and Cocoa shower cream at least once, it is now also available in all Lush stores not just Oxford Street!  there really isn’t an excuse to not try it now, do it! you will not regret it.
