Think Pink Bath Bomb from Lush

think-pink-bath-bomb

The Think Pink bath bomb might be quite a bit smaller than many of the bath bombs currently available in Lush however do not be fooled. I have said this before and I will say it again, never judge a bath bomb until you’ve given it a go in the bathroom.

This hot pink bath bomb decorated with cute, candy-flowers is quite the sight for a self confessed pink-a-holic. Although I will admit that my nose didn’t at first detect all of its supposed ingredients.

The fair trade vanilla absolute is probably (to me) the most prominent scent in the Think Pink bath bomb. In complete contrast, I would have never known that the Think Pink bath bomb also had neroli oil in. My nose just doesn’t seem to pick up on it. The bath bomb’s scent however does have a gentle, zesty edge to it and I imagine this being because of the neroli oil.

Alongside the vanilla and neroli oil are tonka absolute and lavender. In my head I really  wasn’t sure if all of these ingredients would work well together, I however had a few sniffs of it in the shop and was sold straight away.

Tonka, lavender and neroli oil have since become some of my favourite Lush product ingredients. Ever since I first tried the Think Pink bath bomb I have always made sure that I have one or two to hand for the times I crave a sweet-treat bath.

I adore this bath bombs scent, there isn’t anything much better than being surrounded in Think Pink’s glory, it calms my mind, body and soul. Against my original belief, Think Pink has the perfect combination of ingredients to help me relax and wind down after a long, hard day.

The first time I used Think Pink in the bath I literally had no idea of its surprise ingredient, confetti love hearts! – I know some people are afraid of small and slightly random objects in their bath however these confetti love hearts dissolve away as you bathe, just like the bath bomb did initially. They aren’t scary at all, I promise.

As the description  in the Lush catalogue says, Think Pink really is like a hug in bath form.

Twilight Bath Bomb from Lush

Before I had even had the chance to sniff this beautiful, lavender infused bath bomb, I had an overwhelming feeling that I’d really, really like it.

Lush Cosmetics as a company were very new to me back when I first decided to give the Twilight bath bomb a go, I had previously only tinkered with Lush bubble bars as I couldn’t quite get my head around buying a product that could only be used once.

My love for all things pink is no secret, neither is my obsession with stars. Twilight’s baby-pink colour alongside its intricate star & moon design was quite literally made for me.

Twilight and I are a match made in Lush heaven. I wholeheartedly believe that Twilight was destined to be my first Lush bath bomb. It was the product that got me hooked to Lush and for that it will always mean something special to me.

What would I be doing with my life if the Twilight bath bomb hadn’t have found me? What did I do with my life before Lush was in it?! Lush really is a way of life and I will never look back.

As for the scent of this beautifully presented bath bomb, incredible, amazing and beautiful are just a few of the words that come straight to mind. Twilight is rich with lavender and tonka-absolute therefore making it the perfect night time bath bomb.

Its cocktail of various essential oils are perfect at helping you wind down after a long, hard day. The scent itself stays with you throughout the evening and even lasts on your skin for most of the next day. Not only do you benefit from its beautifully subtle scent hours and hours after using it, you also get soft, smooth and gloriously hydrated skin.

Twilight gives off 2 different colours while fizzing away in the bath. Initially it creates mounds and mounds of soft, pink-foam. As the pink foam gradually fizzes away it is then that you begin to see its baby blue interior.

I am always so mesmerised by the reaction that I forget I am in a bath and that I need to lay back and relax. Watching a bath bomb slowly fizzing around the bath is extremely therapeutic as well as fun.

Some people prefer to watch a bath bomb work its magic before getting into the tub, others however prefer to get straight in with it, there’s no right or wrong way about it. Do whatever you feel comfortable with.

The bath bomb spins as it slowly reacts with the water, when the blue flecks begin to appear, the bath bomb then stops spinning and charges around the bath like a little power boat.

Once the bath bomb has fully dissolved I feel instantly relaxed. My skin is always well moisturised and I get out of the bath feeling pleasantly calm and more importantly, ready for bed.

My first bathing experience with the Twilight bath bomb was great, I have now used Twilight more times than I can keep up with and it always makes for a fantastically relaxing bath. Its scent is what dreams are made of.

For a very long time I said that the Twilight bath bomb was my favourite. Although a few years on I no longer call it my favourite as I am now also obsessed with various other bath bombs. I still treasure it and am reminded of my love for it whenever I catch a whiff of the enchantingly, beautiful Twilight scent.

Down the Rabbit Hole Bubble Bar from Lush

down the rabbit hole bubble bar

Down the Rabbit Hole Bubble Bar is yet another Lush Oxford Street, Easter exclusive.

Some of you however may have been lucky enough to pick one or two of these up from the Lush Kitchen last week.  That particular batch sold out within minutes, if you managed to get just one I’d very much like to shake your hand as you’ve a good set of super, speedy fingers!

Prior to last weeks Kitchen release Down the Rabbit Hole Bubble Bar was only ever available from the Oxford Street store.  I guess the sheer exclusiveness of this product was the catalyst that made the Kitchen batch sell out so very quickly.

On paper the Down the Rabbit Hole Bubble Bar sounds amazing, being a HUGE fan of anything remotely citrusy I just had to check this bubble bar out before Easter 2016 came to an end.

Down the Rabbit Hole’s main ingredient is Brazilian sweet orange oil, this essential oil is very popular within Lush products.  Not only does it smell delicious, it also has skin brightening properties.  Its sweet tangy scent is the perfect pick-me-up should you find yourself down in the dumps.

The first thing that you notice about Down the Rabbit Hole Bubble Bar besides its uplifting scent is how very pleasing it is on the eye.  The deep pink, summer orange and dazzling yellows that this product consists of all blend together beautifully.  each swirl of colour compliments each other making it that little bit more eye catching than other products.

Based on Lewis Carroll’s much loved Alice in Wonderland stories, the rabbit hole is where Alice fell to end up in ‘Wonderland.’ When you look at it, the gentle swirl-design of this bubble bar does have a very hypnotic and wacky look about it…

Lush make so many attractive products that sometimes you can get a little overwhelmed.  The thought of breaking up this gorgeous bubble bar made me a little sad, I very nearly didn’t.  I however know that Lush pride themselves on the fact that their products are fresh so wanted to use this exclusive bubble bar in its prime.

In diameter the Down the Rabbit Hole Bubble Bar is similar to the super chunky bubble bar The Comforter.  It however isn’t as thick, I’d say it’s probably about half of its size in depth.

Down the Rabbit Hole’s thinness in comparison to the chunky bubble bars that Lush have on offer mean that this bubble bar won’t stretch over as many baths as I had grown accustom to with the likes of Brightside and The comforter.

The Comforter bubble bar would make me 8 maybe 9 generously bubbled-bubble-baths.

After experimenting a couple of times with the Down the Rabbit Hole Bubble Bar I recommend that you use at least half of it per bath. Using a quarter of it left me with only a light blanket of bubbles and hardly any scent at all.

Included in Down the Rabbit Hole’s ingredients are various types of lustre making the bath water underneath the canopy of bubbles sparkle away.

I know some people think lustre is glitter, the mere mention of it being an ingredient within a cosmetic product makes some literally run for their lives.  I am not sure how many times I have actually addressed this in my blog as people ask me about it all the time.  ‘Lush glitter’ isn’t scary at all, it actually makes for a very pleasant, bathing experience.  I feel as though I need to dedicate a paragraph like this to all of my lustre-infused-product reviews.

In my own words I would describe ‘lustre’ as cosmetic shimmer, it is very similar if not the same ingredient that you can find in various make up products such as bronzer.

I was so excited to try this product and by all means I enjoyed the bubble bath it created, I just wish its scent was a little more apparent.  Looks wise this bubble bar is one of the prettiest that Lush have provided us.  I however wouldn’t go out of my way to get more as I prefer the products with stronger scents.

What did you guys make of this bubble bar?
