Snow Fairy Body Conditioner from Lush

It’s no secret that I often leave the sweet Lush products at the back of the cupboard. I don’t dislike them I just always tend to grab the fruity ones as those are the scents I am most comfortable with.

Adding to that, When I very first started my Lush adventure I never really understood the hype behind the Snow Fairy scent. Again, I don’t dislike it I just think there are much better Lush scents out there.

Considering this, you can imagine my surprise when I one day woke up (4 or 5 months after Christmas) with the feeling that I really, really wanted to use something from the Snow Fairy product family.

Luckily for me, my boyfriend loves the Snow Fairy scent meaning we had some Snow Fairy shower gel just hanging about. I’m not quite sure what had happened to me, or why I had suddenly started craving it but I realised then that I had warmed to and therefore opened the door for myself to explore a lot of much loved products that I’d previously never given much thought.

When I found out that Lush would be releasing a Snow Fairy Body Conditioner this winter I will admit to getting a little bit excited. In previous years Lush had released only one body conditioner in their winter line, Christingle. I absolutely adore Christingle but I cannot comfortably use it in the winter time due to how refreshingly cold it is, this meant that being given another much warmer option made me very happy indeed.

Snow Fairy body conditioner has a super smooth, creamy texture that is very similar to perfectly made, smooth custard. It is a beautiful shade of baby pink and because I love pink so much I really have to fight the urge to just tip it all over me. As lovely as that would be, it would be such a waste as a little of the product goes such a long way. Tipping it all, all over me although very tempting isn’t at all necessary.

When using a body conditioner I always begin with a little of it in my hand, I then work it into my body in a similar way to how you would do a shower gel, focusing a little bit more on the dry patches of my skin as well as the other bits of my skin that need a little bit of TLC and attention.

After application you then also rinse it off just like you would shower gel, although I advise that you do not go crazy with the rinsing off, leaving a small amount of it on is the same as applying a body lotion. It soaks into your skin very quickly leaving your skin looking and feeling healthy, hydrated and luxurious.

Now that we are in the winter season I can get my hands on a great range of Snow Fairy scented products. Above is the body conditioner, the shower gel and the Father Christmas bath bomb. They all share the Snow Fairy scent and I am enjoying layering up the scents so much more than I did last year.

I have yet to review the bath bomb or shower gel, I will however have them posted on to my blog very soon. I may wait until December to publish my Father Christmas bath bomb review though as I am not quite ready to embrace Christmas just yet, I’ll stick to just the winter orientated products for now.

There really is a huge list of Snow Fairy products that I still have yet to explore. Keep on the look out here as I will be reviewing Lush galore over the next 4 months. All I know is, is that I am going to smell absolutely fabulous!

The Comforter Bubble Bar from Lush

My first trip into a Lush store was an eye-opening and truly unforgettable experience. I had a good look around it and I remember being completely overwhelmed with excitement as I explored the huge amount of products on offer. There were bath bombs, shower jellies, soaps… The bubble bars were however what interested me the most. I liked the idea that it was a product that could be spread out over several baths as opposed to just the one. The Comforter Bubble Bar.png As beautiful as everything was I decided that the bubble bars would be a good place to start my Lush journey. On that very first Lush trip I decided to purchase a The Comforter Bubble Bar. At the time I wasn’t entirely sure what to make of it. All I knew is that it was one of the biggest bubble bars available at that time and that it smelt of blackcurrants, reminding me of one of my favourite childhood drinks, Ribena.

Being one of the first products that I got from Lush, the Comforter bubble bar will always be a product I think highly of. I really don’t know what I’d be doing with my life if I hadn’t have found Lush, I feel as if I have to thank the, The Comforter bubble bar as without it, who knows what hobby I would have right now?! untitled-1 As mentioned above, The Comforter is one of the bigger bubble bars that are currently available to purchase from Lush. Above is a picture of the 3 larger sized bubble bars they stock at the time of writing this review. Going clockwise from the top there is The Comforter, Brightside and then Blue Skies and Fluffy White Clouds.

Below is a photograph of the Comforter and Pop in the Bath bubble bar together. I have included it in my review to show the significant size difference. 13439180_1807553766140510_563932264857925577_n Many people break their bubble bars in half, I however like to make the most of them by separating them into several pieces. With the Comforter bubble bar I can easily get 6 to 8 generously bubbled baths out of it. The Pop in the Bath is a different story, I can only stretch it out to last for 2 baths. By all means I love both, the Comforter being a giant in comparison to other bubble bars is however what makes it more desirable to me.

The above photo shows how I use my bubble bars. I put the broken up pieces of The Comforter into a small sieve and let it run under the baths hot tap.

A lot of people however do not use a sieve, they just hold pieces of the bubble bar, under the tap in their hand, slowly and gently mushing it up. I find both ways of doing it show no different results, the only reason I use a sieve is because we have 2 separate bath taps. 1 is boiling hot and the 2nd ice cold therefore I let the sieve get burnt rather than my hand.

The smallest chunk of The Comforter bubble bar gives off copious amounts of fluffy white bubbles, the amount shown in the above picture is me over indulging. You honestly don’t need very much in there at all to have a perfectly bubbled, blackcurrant scented bath. The best thing about being able to split bubble bars is that if you did decide to add a few more bubbles it’s easy-peasy to just grab another chunk.

Once you sink into a Comforter bubble bath it feels as if you are coated in a soft, fluffy blanket of fruity goodness.

It’s hydrating and softens the rough patches on my skin and really does leave me relaxed. Its scent also lingers on your skin hours after getting out of the bath which always leaves me craving another very, very soon!

Christingle Body Conditioner from Lush

Christingle Body Conditioner.png You may be wondering why I have delayed the posting of my review on the Christingle Body Conditioner for so long. I actually got hold of my first batch back in October 2015 so have had access to it for almost a year now, from the first time I used it I loved it, I however came across a small problem…

The problem was that it made me feel so cold. One of my medical conditions makes it hard for me to regulate my own body temperature and when I get cold I am basically part snowflake. Reverse the situation to too hot and I’m basically part sun.

As soon as you open the bathroom door and hit non bathroom air it feels like you’ve plunged into an icy lake, it’s incredibly refreshing but also very, very cold. It’s definitely one to use in the mornings as I can imagine using it at night could wake the dead.

I was gutted but I couldn’t use it anymore, in the winter anyway…

I decided to put my pot of it in the back of my cupboard as I knew it would be the perfect product for me to use throughout the upcoming summer. Months and months seemed to pass, the sun was shining more and more but by July we still hadn’t even got the summer duvet out. Where was SUMMER?

Late July summer finally arrived in the North of England and on the first ridiculously hot day the first thing I dug out (apart from the summer duvet) was last years pot of Christingle.

It has a beautifully smooth texture that is similar in consistency to yogurt with no bits. It is incredibly minty and even in the much warmer month knocks you for six.

I always grab a little and then begin to wash it into my body in a similar way to how you would a shower gel. I however focus a little bit more on the dry patches of my skin as well as the other bits of my skin that had caught a little too much sun. The smallest amount of Christingle soothes my summer tired skin so well, my skin has never felt so silky smooth.

After application you then rinse it off just like you would shower gel too.

The best bit is how tingly it makes your skin feel. During winter I couldn’t cope with that sensation but when it’s summer it helped me stay as cool as a cucumber. Using it not only cooled and soothed my skin but I also noticed it stopped me from sweating as much.

I hope they bring this back as I will be stocking up on more of this, this year as it literally saved my life over the last 6 to 8 weeks. It is perfect for the summer time, I didn’t have one unbearably hot, sleepless night and neither did my boyfriend after he cottoned on to how good Christingle Body Conditioner was… img_5745-1

On one occasion my boyfriend may have got a little bit of Christingle on a bit of his body that he doesn’t really want to feel all cold and tingly… I am sure that the screams coming from our bathroom could be heard for several miles. I am finding it very difficult to not giggle about it even now, it was hilarious.

Ever since that one incident, he hasn’t ever made the same mistake again and I have had only positive feedback in regards to Christingle as well as a shocked face when I said it wasn’t available to buy anymore as it’s a winter only product.

This winter I will most certainly be buying a pot to take on our honeymoon next year, it’s amazing on sun kissed skin. The perfect after-sun, shower treat!
