Passion Fruit Exfoliating Shower Gel from Lush

The Passion Fruit Exfoliating Shower Gel is Lush’s first ever scrubby shower gel and has caused a huge wave of excitement within the Lush community.

At the time of writing this review the Passion Fruit exfoliating shower gel has only been available in November 2023’s Lush Kitchen subscription box.

The Passion Fruit exfoliating shower gel is a jam red colour. The black dots that you can see in it are crushed passion fruit seeds. These alongside the fine sea salt and tagua nut powder that are also included in its ingredient, are what makes this shower gel ‘scrubby’.

Alongside the crushed passion fruit seeds, sea salt and tagua nut powder, the Passion Fruit exfoliating shower gel also contains fresh orange peel decoction, organic sweet orange oil, buchu oil, litsea cubeba oil, olibanum resinoid, champaca absolute and fresh papaya juice.

You may recognise the Passion Fruit exfoliating shower gels scent if you were lucky enough to have tried the Princess Peach shower jelly and Princess Peach body spray from the limited edition, Lush X Super Mario Bros collaboration that was released back in March 2023.

The Princess Peach Lush-scent-family is a fruity blend of sweet peach and mouth-watering pineapple, it’s a very gentle fragrance (as far as Lush scents go anyway) BUT it still manages to be super uplifting. As I said in my review of the Princess Peach items before now, the scent truly is fit for a princess.

Consistency wise, the Passion Fruit exfoliating shower gel is quite thick but still very easy to get out of the bottle. I actually prefer Lush’s thicker shower gels as I find that sometimes the runnier gels are a lot easier to accidentally waste.

To use the Passion Fruit exfoliating shower gel, simply lather it up on your body in the same way as you would use an ordinary shower gel. The only difference being that while doing this you should focus a little more attention on the bits of your body that are in need of a little exfoliation; For me this is my arms, legs, knees, and chest.

The Passion Fruit exfoliating shower gel lathers up quickly. The scent really comes alive when mixed with the hot water and steam of the shower too. As an exfoliator, it is pretty decent, but it is a very gentle one. It is better suited to those who aren’t looking for anything too invasive scrub-wise.

Although it wasn’t a particularly scrubby exfoliator it did leave my skin clean and slightly smoother than an ordinary shower gel would.

The scent stayed on my skin for the best part of the rest of the day too, I could also see that my skin appeared brighter after use, especially on the bits I paid more attention to during use.

Overall, I really have enjoyed getting to know the Passion Fruit exfoliating shower gel and I can’t wait to see what Lush come up with next!

Dreidel, Dreidel, Dreidel Bath Bomb from Lush (2023)

The Dreidel, Dreidel, Dreidel Bath Bomb is a part of Lush’s 2023 Hanukkah collection.

For the remainder of this review, I will refer to the bath bomb as just the Dreidel bath bomb (to make it easier for me to write, and you to read this review!)

This bath bomb was inspired by an actual dreidel which is a spinning-top-toy that is traditionally played with on the Jewish festival of Hanukkah.

A dreidel just like this bath bomb has four sides; Each side has a different Hebrew letter on it.

I normally only include one top photo of a Lush product in my reviews but couldn’t resist sharing two with you in this review because I wanted you to be able to see the design a little better.

The Dreidel bath bomb is a deep purple bath bomb that is quite similar in colour to the likes of the Northern Lights bath bomb.

Each of the Hebrew letters on the Dreidel bath bomb are made to stand out with a gold coating on top of each.

The Dreidel bath bomb shares its scent with the Apple Crumble bubble bar.

The best way to describe its scent is as baked apple slices sprinkled with cinnamon sugar. It’s a very warm and inviting fragrance that leaves you wanting more.

Ingredients wise, the Dreidel bath bomb contains myrrh resinoid, orange flower absolute and cinnamon leaf oil.

Each Dreidel bath bomb is approximately 155g each and fits in my hand perfectly.

Although you cannot get the Dreidel bath bomb to work as a proper spinning top, you can spin it straight into your bath…

As soon as the Dreidel bath bomb meets your bath water you are greeted with a burst of purple foam.

As the water takes over the bath bomb, sky blue foam starts to appear from the Dreidel bath bomb too.

It doesn’t take long for the thin layer of gold on the four Herbew letters on each side of the Dreidel bath bomb to decorate the surface of the water with patches of gold.

If you’ve ever seen or used gold foil in arts and crafts or even nail art you’ll know what I mean when I say that this is what the golden patches reminded me of (see below photo).

The Dreidel bath bomb takes approximately 12 minutes to dissolve. While it didn’t create much visual bath art, I did enjoy the initial blue, purple and gold flecked foam near the beginning of its time in the water.

The blues, purples and gold flecks reminded me of the Phoenix Rising bath bomb when the Dreidel bath bomb was in action.

Overall, I really enjoyed using the Dreidel bath bomb. The scent sits so well on my skin, and I could still smell it in my bathroom long after the last drop of the bath water went down the plug hole.

I would have liked to have seen a little more bath art out of it but other than that it was a very enjoyable bath bomb.

My skin felt soft after use and its scent although subtle stayed on my skin for the rest of the day too.

I would love to see this bath bomb come back again alongside an even bigger Hannukah line!

Tropical Co-Mingle Body Scrub from Lush

The first Co-Mingle body scrub was released back in 2022. After its success, Lush decided to release another version of a Co-Mingle body scrub, the Sticky Dates Co-Mingle body scrub. Today I will be reviewing the third Co-Mingle body scrub to be released by Lush, the Tropical Co-Mingle Body Scrub.

At the time of writing this review the Tropical Co-Mingle body scrub has only been available in November 2023’s Lush Kitchen subscription box.

Out of the 5 items in November 2023’s Lush Kitchen subscription box, customers will be able to vote for which ones they want to become mainline products. I have my fingers crossed that one of them is the Tropical Co-Mingle body scrub as it’s my favourite of the Co-mingles so far, more customers need the chance to try it. I’d also be very pleased to get hold of a bigger pot if it does become a main line product!

The Tropical Co-Mingle body scrub is described by Lush as a ‘tropical scented three-in-one.’ It exfoliates, cleanses, and moisturises your skin all at the same time. After the success of both the original Co-Mingle and Sticky Dates Co-Mingle, I was eager to give the Tropical Co-Mingle body scrub a go.

The Tropical Co-Mingle body scrub shares its scent with the Cyclops bubble bar and SpongeBob bath bomb. The best way I can describe its scent is as a rich passion fruit like fragrance.

I have seen several customers say that with it being so fruity, it may be more appropriate as a Summer product. I am however happy to use it all year round but do understand what they mean.

With the Tropical Co-Mingle body scrub being a three-in-one product it has a lot of ingredients in it; the scrubby element of it comes from the tagua nut powder. Alongside that, the Tropical Co-Mingle also contains a super-moisturising amount of fairtrade cocoa and shea butter as well as cypress leaf infusion, almond oil, Brazil nut oil, buriti oil, buchu oil, litsea cubeba oil, sweet wild orange oil and fresh pineapple juice.

Consistency-wise, the Tropical Co-Mingle body scrub is a little different from the other Co-Mingles; It is not as sloppy and has more of a dried-butter-icing feel to it (see above photo).

A very small amount of the Tropical Co-Mingle body scrub goes a long way, but I am gutted that the Lush Kitchen only gave us a 100g pot of it in the Lush Kitchen subscription box. I really do need more so have my fingers crossed it comes back as a permanent product soon.

To use, I scoop out about 3 fingers worth and that easily does my whole body, twice over. Unlike the original two Co-Mingles I find Tropical Co-Mingle incredibly scrubby, I think this is the main reason why I like it the most out of the 3 Lush have created thus far.

When I first got some out of the pot, I thought it felt really creamy and wasn’t expecting much scrub wise HOWEVER, the longer I rubbed it into my skin the scrubbier it seemed to get. The tagua nut powder is incredibly fine but does a perfect job of buffing away any dead skin without making your skin sore. It also washes and hydrates your skin at the same time so there’s no need for a shower gel or body lotion after using it. My skin feels smooth and looks brighter after use.

I adore all of the Co-Mingles created by Lush but I have fallen head over heels in love with the Tropical Co-Mingle body scrub, it’s my favourite of the 3 and I hate to repeat myself again but it really will be a crime if Lush don’t make this body scrub a mainline product as soon as possible!
