The One With Lemon Oil In Bath Bomb from Lush

Out of the 29 bath bombs in the 2024 World Bath Bomb Day collection, there are four special ones that can be categorised in their own little group. All of their names start with, ‘The One With’ and each of them are mini bombshell-bath-bombs. (see photo of all four of them together in the photo below)

A bombshell bath bomb is a bath bomb with a little extra something inside. Usually, Lush make their bombshells a lot bigger, which is why I wrongly assumed that the four ‘The One With’ bombshells, were all just ordinary bath bombs…

I only found out that they were bombshell bath bombs after I had used one.

Today I am reviewing the, The One With Lemon Oil In Bath Bomb. On first appearance all of the, The One With bath bombs look quite plain when you compare them to most of the other 29 bath bombs in the 2024 World Bath Bomb Day collection.

The One With Lemon Oil In has a very uncomplicated design; It’s a light shade of yellow and is the size and shape of the average Lush bath bomb. Decoration wise, it has a single dried lemon slice on its top.

While I thought on first impression that the, The One With Lemon Oil In bath bomb looked plain; Having used a lot of Lush products over the years I am now a little wiser than I was and always have in the back of my mind that the plainer products can quite often be the products that surprise you the most.

This is why I decided to get and give each of the, ‘The One With’ bath bombs a go.

I also have to remind myself that not everyone favours the big, bold, eye-catching, all-bells-and-whistles bath bombs. Sometimes you just want a quick and simple bath but with that little something extra.

When you’re not looking to have a super fancy bath, ‘The One With’ bath bombs are the perfect choice. There’s no over-the-top bath-time theatrics, you simply throw it into the water then lay back and relax.

Different bath bombs have different ingredients in, and each ingredient can have a different effect on you.

I find citrus based products to be quite uplifting so out of the four mini bombshell bath bombs, The One With Lemon Oil In and The One With Orange Slices should both be good choices if you’re looking for a pick-me-up.

The One With Lemon Oil In contains dried lemon slices and Sicilian lemon oil.

The scent of The One With Lemon Oil In bath bomb is as its name and overall ingredient list suggests, lemony. It is described on Lush’s website as a refreshing sweet lemon.

It doesn’t share its scent with any other Lush product and in comparison, to the other ‘The One With’ bath bombs scents, it is quite a weak one. I was a little surprised at how light of a scent it had but thought its scent may get stronger during use.

The One With Lemon Oil In was the third of the, ‘The One With’ bath bombs that I tried. The One With Lavender was the first. I wrote in my The One With Lavender review how surprised I was when I first used it because of the amount of lavender that was hidden inside of it.

I again was just as surprised when the, The One With Orange Slices bath bomb practically gave birth to a whole orange once placed into the water. With the lemon equivalent being called The One With Lemon Oil In (no mention of slices) I wasn’t expecting anything other than the bath bomb being a little oiler than normal.

You’d be a fool to not always expect the unexpected when using Lush products yet, with The One With Lemon Oil In being the third of the ‘The One With’ bath bombs I tried, I was quietly confident that I knew what was coming. Spoiler alert… I didn’t.

As soon as the, The One With Lemon Oil In comes into contact with water there’s an instant explosion. I managed to get the photo above within the first three seconds of using the bath bomb, after that, like the, The One With Orange Slices bath bomb, the One With Lemon Oil In also gave birth to what felt like a whole lemon worth of lemon slices; So much for it being only lemon oil.

Lush had successfully tricked me again!

The One With Lemon Oil In had completely dissolved in less than a minute. Leaving several lemon slices floating around the water’s surface. The water turns an almost glowing bright yellow colour.

The only negative thing I can pinpoint with the, The One With Lemon Oil In bath bomb is how weak its scent is. I thought it may have got a little stronger when in use but if anything, I couldn’t smell anything at all by the time it had fully dissolved.

I didn’t feel nearly as refreshed with this bath bomb as I did the, The One With Orange Slices but my skin did feel soft and appeared brighter.

Clean up wasn’t difficult at all, simply scoop the fruit slices out and pop them in the bin. Some people are funny about ‘bits’ in their bath but I really enjoy the novelty of fruit floating around me, I much prefer it to flowers and petals!

Overall, I enjoyed using The One With Lemon Oil In bath bomb, but I’d have liked its scent to be a little stronger.

Turtle Power Body Scrub from Lush

The Turtle Power Body Scrub is yet another product from the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle collaboration, TMNT x LUSH.

I was lucky enough to receive one in a surprise box sent to me by Lush. Thank you again, Lush!

All of the products in the TMNT x LUSH line are inspired by no other than the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles franchise, and are also plastic free, Lush always do a plastic free July and the TMNT x LUSH line has showcased plastic free cosmetic products perfectly.

The Turtle Power body scrub is mostly purple and is created in the shape of a drain lid. In a dark green graffiti font, it says ‘Turtle Power’ on its top.

The Turtle Power body scrub shares its scent with several products that are firm favourites of mine; The Blackberry bath bombSultana shower gelBewitched bubble barBubble Lugosi bubble bar and Henny Penny bubble bar just to name a few.

Some of the ingredients listed for Turtle Power are, fine sea salt, organic illipe butter, fair trade organic mango butter, bamboo stem extract, murumuru butter, extra virgin coconut oil, organic shea butter, cream of tartar, kokum butter, organic jojoba oil, bergamot oil, olibanum oil and cornstarch.

The scent of Turtle Power is best described as sweet, fruity and a little woody. The blend of bergamot and frankincense is perfect if you need to wind down and chill out. I find it particularly effective when used just before bed. I always drop off a little easier after using a product with its scent.

The fine sea salt and bamboo stem extract are the magic ingredients that makes this body scrub such a good exfoliator and all of the butters and the coconut oil are what makes it so hydrating.

I love a solid body scrub and Lush haven’t produced one as good as Turtle Power since the Cherryish body scrub. Turtle Power is not quite as gritty as Cherryish but absolutely amazing at both moisturising and exfoliating your skin at the same time.

I first tested it out on my arms; I put the writing side of it, skin-side-first and very quickly a green scrubby lather came about. On the other arm I did the purple side first and a purple scrubby lather came about even quicker. After trying it both ways, I recommend using it purple side first as I feel as if the side with the writing on was maybe added to make it a little easier to grip.

I always really go to town with solid body scrubs and have used it twice now for all over my body, it’s a little smaller in size but still in one piece. I can see it lasting me a good few showers yet.

Overall, I LOVED the Turtle Power body scrub, I’d have maybe liked the scent to be a little stronger but other than that it’s a very good scrub!

Peace, Love and Pizza Bath Bomb from Lush

Lush’s latest collaboration with the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles came out at the start of July 2024 and has been flying off the shelves.

The limited edition TMNT x Lush collaboration included a TMNT themed Lush Kitchen Subscription Box and also a collection of online and in store products too.

Today I’ll be reviewing the Peace, Love and Pizza Bath Bomb that is a part of the in store and online items.

I was lucky enough to receive a Peace, Love and Pizza bath bomb in a surprise box sent from Lush. The excitement of receiving a PR package from Lush never gets old, I am so very grateful every time, thank you, Lush!

The Peace, Love and Pizza bath bomb is made in the shape of a slice of pizza. It is green, purple and has a yellow bath melt cheese and a red soap ‘soapperoni’ topping. If you’re lucky enough to live near a store then you’d have seen that the Peace, Love and Pizza bath bombs are all displayed in a TMNT pizza box too.

Each of the bath bombs are approximately 135g each so quite big. Each of the slices fits perfectly in my hand.

The Peace, Love and Pizza bath bomb contains fairtrade organic mango butter, fresh garlic infusion, lemon grass oil, basil oil, oregano oil, benzoin resinoid, tonka absolute, vanilla absolute, rapeseed oil, coconut oil, cupuaçu butter, organic illipe butter, extra virgin coconut oil, glycerine and paprika oleoresin.

On paper, it doesn’t sound like something you’d want to really bathe in, but it smells lovely. It’s a very loose version of the smell of pizza, you get herbal vibes but also fruity notes too. Pineapple apparently belongs on TMNT pizza!

As the Peace, Love and Pizza bath bomb comes in to contact with your bath water there is a huge hiss as green foam starts to ooze out of it. After a minute, purple streaks come out of it too. The foam then starts to thin out, slowly turning your bath water green.

The bath bombs scent isn’t at all in-your-face or overpowering, it’s sweet and gentle. When I first read the list of this bath bombs ingredients, I wasn’t sure that I’d like it as a cosmetic product at all, garlic? basil? oregano? It however all strangely works.

Lush are forever proving me wrong. It just goes to show that simply listing an items ingredients list, doesn’t ever completely describe the final scent of a Lush product.

After about six or seven minutes the Peace, Love and Pizza bath bomb is completely taken over by the water.

It didn’t create very much bath art but the red ‘soapperoni’ part had me very entertained. I grabbed it to lather it up and it looked like I had smeared myself in the blood of my enemies, I didn’t include a photo in this review but if you want to see it, drop me a message…

Fortunately, the red came off as soon as I placed my hands back into the water. My favourite thing about the Peace, Love and Pizza bath bomb however has to be how it left my skin feeling.

My skin has never felt so soft after such a short soak. It seems as if Lush got the bath bomb and melt ratio perfect in the Peace, Love and Pizza bath bomb.

Overall, I loved the Peace, Love and Pizza bath bomb. I said earlier that I wasn’t expecting to like it much as the ingredient list was a little crazy, but it was lovely and is a good example of why I like to try every product at least once!
