The Imperial Egg Bath Bomb from Lush

I was really enjoying Lush’s 2022 Easter line; You can see this from all of the previous-to-this-posts, written reviews. It however wasn’t until I got April’s Lush Kitchen Subscription box that I realised how much better the Easter line could have been…

The Imperial Egg Bath Bomb was one of 5 products available in this month’s Kitchen box and I promise you that I am not exaggerating when I say that April 2022’s box was the best Lush Kitchen box to date.

The Imperial Egg bath bomb is exactly the same shape and size as this years’ The Golden Egg bath bomb. It’s a small one weighing in at only 90g but if Lush products have taught me anything over the years, it is that size doesn’t indicate how good or bad a product is going to be.

The Imperial Egg bath bomb is a shimmery, light-blue and contains eucalyptus, lemongrass, and peppermint oils. Its scent is incredibly refreshing. It has a clean, sharp fragrance that could wake up the weariest of souls. The peppermint and eucalyptus within it are the more dominant ingredient, scent wise.

As soon as the, The Imperial Egg bath bomb meets the water little bubbles begin to sizzle out of it. After just over a minute of light, gentle bubbles, green foam suddenly starts to spill out of the bath bomb.

The blue part of this bath bomb appears more white than blue, once it has been in the water for a while. Slowly but surely, the green foam spilling out of the, The Imperial Egg bath bomb becomes fiercer. Spouting from 2 points of the bath bomb instead of just the one. As the bath bomb spins in the water, beautiful green and white bath art begins to form on the water surface.

Looking back at the photographs and video footage that I captured of this bath bomb in action, I can see that it only took 7 minutes to fully dissolve. As you can see from the photos, I have included in this review it didn’t disappoint when it came down to pretty colouring and bath art.

Earlier, I mentioned that the 2022, Lush Easter line could have been so much better had they included some of the products exclusive to April’s Lush Kitchen box in the line. I think the, The Imperial Egg bath bomb would have been a best seller had they included it. I hope that Lush see sense and put it in next year’s Easter line as I’d love to use it again.

The Imperial Egg bath bomb’s scent make it a good product to go for if you have the sniffles, the eucalyptus in it makes it especially good for helping soothe sinus issues. For centuries, eucalyptus oils have been used to help manage with the symptoms of the common cold.

Even without a cold, the eucalyptus and peppermint oils in the, The Imperial Egg bath bomb make it a super awakening bath bomb. It is a great bath bomb to use if you’re in need of just an energy boost.

Once the bath bomb has fully dissolved you are left with bright green water, all of the goodness from the bath bomb’s ingredients makes the water incredibly soft and laying in its waters leaves your skin feeling silky smooth to touch and also leaves your skin appearing much brighter.

Overall, I am really, really impressed with the, The Imperial Egg bath bomb. I don’t mean to repeat myself, but I really do hope that Lush decide to release it in their Easter 2023 line as I’d love to use it again, and I feel others who aren’t subscribed to the Lush Kitchen boxes deserve a chance to use it too.

What’s Up, Doc? Shower Gel from Lush

The What’s Up, Doc? Shower Gel is a brand-new, limited-edition, Easter product that first became available in the UK at the start of March 2022. I have well and truly grown bored of Lush’s all-year-round, staple-shower-gels so was very excited to get my hands on a bottle of the What’s Up, Doc? shower gel.

What’s Up, Doc? shower gel is a beautiful shade of warm-orange, to look at it’s very similar to the likes of the Bubbly shower gel. It has a thick but easy to get out of the bottle consistency. Since its release it has proven very popular with customers old and new.

The What’s Up, Doc? shower gel contains a long list of ingredients including, fresh carrot infusion, violet leaf absolute, carrot juice and cold pressed carrot seed oil; Alongside those are the following essential oils too, bergamot, and lime.

The What’s Up, Doc? shower gel has a brand-new Lush scent. It’s deliciously fruity, primarily it’s meant to be a raspberry scent, but it has several layers to its fragrance, the more you sniff the more you can make out. Its rich berry-ness makes it an incredibly refreshing and mouth-watering scent, it’s perfect for the Springtime and I can see it being a popular choice for the Summer too.

It’s really like no other shower gel Lush have released before, there was a gap in the Lush-market for a fruity, mood brightening shower gel and wow has What’s Up, Doc? stepped up to the job, it’s blown me away. This probably won’t happen because Lush rarely listen to their customers anymore but Lush are making a big mistake by not making this delicious shower gel a part of their permanent range!

I’ve not liked a shower gel this much since Lush released the Intergalactic and Sultana shower gels.

As I said earlier, the What’s Up, Doc? shower gels consistency is quite thick but not so thick it’s hard to get out of the bottle. It lathers up easily and a small amount goes a very long way too. Once the hot water and steam of the shower meets the shower gel and you begin to lather it up, its scent really comes alive, it smells so good it immediately makes me want to drink a pint of tropical juice. I always put an extra squirt of it into my hand just because I love the scent so much.

Like the Mimosa shower gel from this years’ (2022) Mother’s Day line, it reminds me of warmer weather and the sunshine. It literally washes away your Winter blues, I recently took it away with me and it’s such an amazing pick-me-up. Using it will now always remind me of my mini trip away.

My favourite thing about the What’s Up, Doc? shower gel is however how it leaves my skin looking and feeling. After I’ve used it, the scent remains on my skin for the best part of the rest of the day and it leaves my skin incredibly soft. It’s also incredibly hydrating too; Overall, I adore this shower gel, it’s one of the best Lush have ever released. I’d love to see this scent in other product formats soon!

Besties Bubble Bar from Lush

The Besties Bubble Bar is a brand-new, limited edition, Lush product that is a proud, stand-out member of this years (2022) Mother’s Day line. It first became available in the middle of February 2022 and has proven very popular since its release.

The Besties bubble bar is designed to look like an adult and baby giraffe having a cuddle, can a bubble bar get any cuter? I think not…

This year’s Mother’s Day line is packed full of some of the cutest products Lush have ever created, there seems to be a bit of an animal theme going on and I can’t get enough of it!

Besties bubble bar is bright yellow with bright pink spots, its scent is a part of Lush’s Celebrate scent-family. The Celebrate scent is hugely popular and features in many Lush products, I believe the most recently released products that share its fragrance are the Golden Pudding bath bomb and Celebrate body spray.

Besties contains, Brazilian orange and lime oils. Its scent is warm, bubbly, and full of citrusy goodness. It literally smells of happiness. Even just a quick whiff of it always puts a smile on my face.

The scent seems to work in whatever product format Lush make it into. To this day, Lush have never released a Celebrate scented product that I haven’t liked.

The Besties bubble bar is 120g so a little bit smaller than the, The Comforter bubble bar. The one thing I love about Lush’s bubble bars over their bath bombs is that they can be spread out over several baths. You could easily get 3 adequately bubbled bubble baths out of just the one Besties bubble bar.

I know some people will use the whole bar in one bath and it’s all down to personal preference, I do however recommend spreading it out so that you get more for your money.

Spreading it out over 2 or 3 baths does not hinder how well it works bubble and scent wise either. A small amount of this bubble bar goes a very long way!

To use the Besties bubble bar, I put broken up pieces of it into a sieve and let the running bath-water trickle over it. I find this the most effective way to use single use bubble bars.

This method is also the best way to ensure none of the bubble bar gets accidentally wasted and through trial and error, I have found that this method makes the most bubbles.

It doesn’t take long for the blanket of fluffy white bubble to form, underneath is bright yellow, citrusy scented, silky-smooth bath water.

The scent and bubbles last throughout my whole time in the bath and the silky-smooth water leaves my skin feeling and appearing brighter. I wouldn’t say the Besties bubble bar is particularly moisturising, but it didn’t dry out my skin at all.

Overall I really enjoyed using the Besties bubble bar, its scent is perfect, and its design is one of the cutest I have seen from Lush. There’s just something about Lush products with faces! Besties was almost too cute to use but I can never resist using a Celebrate scented product!

I hope Besties comes back for Mother’s Day next year although I doubt it will as Lush are famous for making ‘one time’ products.
