Psychodelic Bubble Bar from Lush

I had never actually heard of the Psychodelic Bubble Bar until it was released on the Lush Kitchen menu earlier this year (2017). It’s clear to see that it’s a looker, the colours alone sold it to me within seconds of seeing it.

There’s just something about the blue, white and yellow that gives off a really happy vibe, no one can deny that we all need a little more happiness in our life, so I ordered a few when they were up for grabs.

When I opened the parcel with them in I was greeted with a Lush scent that I hadn’t come across before. I always skim read the ingredients list before purchasing anything that is new to me, this however doesn’t always help as 9 times out of 10, when I get a product in my hands it smells nothing like how I had imagined.

Reading the list of ingredients in the Psychodelic bubble bar it was the cinnamon leaf and sweet orange oil that stood out for me. I love cinnamon for its warming properties and sweet orange oil for how it refreshes and revives not only your skin but also your state of mind. I wasn’t too sure what cinnamon and orange oil would smell like together but I knew as soon as the bubble bar arrived that they were a match made in heaven.

The Psychodelic bubble bars scent is the perfect mix of sweet and spicy. The most dominant ingredient in it is definitely the sweet orange oil, the cinnamon that is paired with it rounds the sweetness off unlike any Lush product I have used before. Someone on Instagram described this bubble bar as being similar to the Phoenix Rising bath bomb, I don’t disagree, I can see what they mean but they are not the same scent. Together the both of them would however make a very good bath cocktail.

Psychodelic is a similar size to the Bar Humbug bubble bar, if you’ve read any of my bubble bar reviews previous to this one then you’d know that I prefer the bigger bubble bars such as The Comforter. Lush however prove time and time again that good products come in all shapes and sizes.

I like to make bubble bars that are the same size as the Psychodelic spread out over (at the very least) 2 baths. Sometimes with Lush the smallest amount of product goes a very long way, with Psychodelic I however had to use a whole one in just the one bath to get the most out of it.

It created a thick blanket of fluffy-white bubbles and the water beneath it was a dazzling turquoise colour. The scent of it became very subtle once in the water, it was in fact almost undetectable by the time I got into the bath which was a little disappointing.

It however worked like magic on my skin, a soak in a Psychodelic bath left my skin feeling soft and as fresh as a daisy. Although the scent didn’t last I did really enjoy the vivid colours of this bubble bar, the turquoise water it created was so inviting and I will be using it again just not on its own. If anyone has any suggestions of what you think would go well with it please pop them below! 🙂

Celebrate Shower Gel from Lush

Celebrate Shower Gel
Celebrate Shower Gel was (and still is to some extent) one of the rarest, most sought after Lush shower gels ever made. When it was first released it was an exclusive product to Lush Japan. I’m not completely sure of the exact ins and outs but from what I understand, Lush UK didn’t have the rights to make it. With it only being available to buy within Japan the demand for it world wide was through the roof. Unless you could get someone in Japan to ship it to you directly it was near on impossible to get hold of.

Back in 2016 Lush UK released a shower gel as a part of their winter line called Bubbly. It’s not the same as Celebrate shower gel but it does come from the same scent family. As there are so many beautiful Lush scent families to choose from it is impossible for me to pick just the one favourite, anything Celebrate scented is however always a hit with me.

Lush Kitchen reached 3 years young back in March 2017 and to celebrate they brought out Celebrate shower gel as a surprise! It was a dream come true for me and I did not see it coming. For me, it was a sit down and fan yourself type of surprise, Lush is my life, don’t judge me. Just as I had come to terms with the fact that I would probably never get my hands on a bottle, I did! Thank you Lush Kitchen, you rock my world!

As soon as you open the lid of Celebrate shower gel you are greeted with the comforting and refreshing scent of warming cognac, sweet orange and zesty lime. Much like the Bubbly shower gel, Celebrate is a fairly thick formula, to me it feels like more of a cream than a shower gel.

The smallest amount of Celebrate shower gel goes a very long way, this is a great trait to have in a product you love, especially when it is also a very rare product! it lathers up in your hands effortlessly and works even better with a shower pouf or washcloth. As you work it onto your body the scent really hits you. It’s a very delicate citrus fragrance that I can never, ever get enough of.

My skin adores it, as does my nose. Using Celebrate shower gel is great anytime of day but I love to use it of an evening after a long, hard day. It not only lifts my mood but also eases me into a relaxed state of mind, helping me wind down for bed time. Its scent reminds me of happy times. The first time I experienced the Celebrate scent was when I used a Golden Wonder bath bomb, I fell in love with it within seconds of using it and have been desperate to try every Celebrate scented product since.

I am curious as to whether Celebrate shower gel will be making a return as a part of 2017’s Winter line now that Lush UK have got the okay to make it here. I honestly wouldn’t mind either Celebrate or Bubbly though, they are both very good shower gels that I find work just as good as a shampoo too.  I would however be really upset if neither came back this year.

I can clearly see and smell why the Celebrate shower gel is so sought after and I am so thankful to the Lush Kitchen for pulling so many strings and finally giving us UK Lushies a chance to experience it!

Bouncy Bunny Shower Jelly from Lush

Bouncy Bunny Shower Jelly

When I found out about 2016’s brand new Lush Easter product the Bouncy Bunny Shower Jelly, I was so excited. What got me the most excited is its ingredients. Much like the Down the Rabbit Hole bubble bar, Bouncy Bunny’s main ingredient is Brazilian orange oil which is one of my personal favourites.

Now that Winter and all of its tingly, skin-warming Lush products are becoming a distant memory, I am standing waiting with open arms for all of the spring time, zesty and energising Lush goodies!

Bouncy Bunny Shower Jelly has an energising, summery scent that I find incredibly refreshing, especially after an early morning hydro session. I’ve had to cut caffeine completely out of my diet now, (not that I ever drank a lot of it) but since trying to tackle my insomnia head on I have had to become very strict with myself, anything that could help my energy levels without drowning myself with caffeine is gold dust to me.

Using this shower jelly gives me a much needed boost when my energy levels are wavering, it’s perfect for me when I think only a cup of tea or 4 will get me through the day.

Brazilian orange oil is particularly good for the brightening and toning of skin too, pairing Bouncy Bunny Shower Jelly up with a soft exfoliator will ensure that your skin is more than summer ready.

My only negative on this shower jelly is its shape, I however do not dislike the shape, I think it’s cute that they’ve used the exact same mold for the Bouncy Bunny as the Spring Bunny bath bomb. I just find shower jellies that are the standard shape a lot easier to use if you prefer to use them whole like me. The character shaped ones are very tricky to keep a hold of. Trying to keep it in your hand while using it is quite the challenge.

I am sad that this shower jelly didn’t come back in 2017’s Easter line, it is however making an appearance in the Lush Kitchen on Monday (17th April 2017) so at least some of us can still get one if we want!
