Clear the Air Lush Melt from Lush

Today I am reviewing the vegan, Clear the Air Lush Melt. It is a light shade of blue with icy white swirls in it.

If you’ve recently read any of my other Lush Melt reviews, you’ll notice that small snippets of text in each review may be a little repetitive. This is because the majority of visitors to this blog find it through Google searches of individual Lush products.

I always include a ‘what it is’ and ‘how to use’ paragraph in each review just in case it is someone’s first time visiting my website and/or their first time using that particular type of Lush product.

I’ll add the repeated parts in italics so that the frequent review-readers can skim past them!

The Lush Melts are a fairly new type of Lush product, Clear the Air was first released back in March 2023 and at the time of writing this review, is still available to purchase.

For me, the most exciting thing about the Lush Melts is that they can be used in the bath like a bath oil and also used as a wax melt in a wax burner. I personally prefer using them in wax burners over using them in the bath but both ways of using them are enjoyable and full of fragrance.

Each of the larger 70g Lush Melts that are currently available are a rectangle shape and have 8 separate snappable squares in each bar. Each square has a letter on it, the Clear the Air Lush Melt has LUSH spelt on the first row of squares and MELT spelt on the bottom row of squares.

Clear the Air contains the following ingredients: Fair trade organic cocoa butter, illipe butter, almond oil, eucalyptus oil, lemongrass oil, peppermint oil, rosemary oil and moringa oil.

It shares its scent with several incredibly popular Lush products – The Imperial EggSnow Drift and Snowball bath bomb just to name a few.

The scent of the Clear the Air Lush Melt is described on Lush’s website as a ‘eucalyptus and lemongrass refresher’. Just one sniff of it gives me a boost of energy.

Using the Clear the Air Lush Melt in a wax burner:

When I use Lush Melts in a wax burner, I switch between both a tea light burner and plug-in, electric burner. If you use an average sized tea light candle in a tea light burner, both burner types work well enough for me not to have a favourite kind.

The Clear the Air Lush Melts scent is a strong one. Just one cube is enough to fragrance all of our open planned rooms downstairs.

Obviously not everyone has the same type of wax burner so temperatures and melting times will vary for each individual, but I had the Clear the Air Lush Melt on for 4 evenings before I felt I needed to switch it out for another as the scent had weakened.

I found myself reaching for Clear the Air over the last year or so whenever someone in my house was feeling a bit flu like. The blend of eucalyptus oil, lemongrass oil and peppermint oil live up to the Lush Melts name and really does feel as if it clears the air.

It’s such a crisp fragrance that makes me feel less stuffy, something we can all appreciate when we have the dreaded common cold!Even without a cold I find the scent really uplifting there’s something about its coolness that puts a spring in my step.

Using the Clear the Air Lush Melt in a bath:

When I use Lush Melts in the bath, I normally start with adding just one cube, if I feel I need more I will add another, after all, it’s a lot easier to add more product than it is to take some out when you feel you’ve used too much… With Clear the Air one cube was however the perfect amount.

Again, melting times will vary depending on how hot you have your bath water. Clear the Air melted very quickly for me and turned the bath water a milky white colour.

After about a 10-minute soak in waters with one cube melted into it, it left my skin feeling cooler, refreshed and incredibly soft. I have even used a half-melted cube of Clear the Air like a shaving butter on my legs.

With the way it cools your skin down I can see myself using it a lot in the warmer Summer months too.

Overall, I am really impressed with the Clear the Air Lush Melt as both a wax melt and bath melt, I love that it is (at the time of writing this review) an all-year-round product as like I said, it helps with colds in the Winter and cooling you down in the Summer!

Mother Nature Bath Bomb from Lush

The Mother Nature Bath Bomb is a brand-new, limited-edition product from Lush’s 2024 Mother’s Day line.

Weighing in at approximately 75g each, the Mother Nature bath bomb is the same size as the recently released Love Potion bath bomb.

Recently Lush have started to release smaller sized bath bombs, some might say that you’re no longer getting the same amount of product for your money but through my excessive use of Lush bath bombs I know that bigger doesn’t necessarily mean a bath bomb will be better.

I never judge a bath bomb on first look as the plainer or smaller ones can often give you the best of surprises during use…

The Mother Nature bath bomb has quite a simple design. It’s a bright green face with several flowers of different sizes decorating the faces hair; Also included is a real, single pressed Cosmos flower stuck on the side of the bath bombs head, it’s simple but beautiful. It reminds me of Te Fiti in the animated film, Moana.

As well as the pressed Cosmos flower, Mother Nature bath bomb also contains rosewood oil, bergamot oil, ylang ylang oil, fair trade olive oil.

It shares its scent with the NEW Groovy Kind of Love bath bomb and Pink Flamingo reusable bubble bar.

The Mother Nature bath bomb’s scent is sweet, fruity and oozes happy vibes. It is a citrus led scent BUT is a lot gentler than the average citrus based Lush product. It will most likely appeal to customers who like a more subtle, zesty-scented product.

As soon as the Mother Nature bath bomb touches the water you are greeted with an explosion of green bubbles.

The Mother Nature bath bomb doesn’t offer much bath-art-wise, but its mood-brightening scent makes it a must try!

The scent of the bath bomb really comes to life once placed into the water, even though it’s quite a gentle scent it still seems to fill your bathroom.

With the Mother Nature bath bomb being so dinky, it took just over three minutes to fully dissolve leaving only the flower and bright green waters behind.

The bright green waters smell heavenly, the Mother Nature bath bomb is quite literally sunshine in bath bomb form. Its scent lingers in your bathroom once you’ve pulled the plug and can still be smelt on your skin long after getting out of the bath, after using it I couldn’t help but keep sniffing myself!

The water left behind by the Mother Nature bath bomb not only smells delicious but also feels amazing on your skin. It’s a very no-fuss bath bomb but one of the best to have come out so far this year. Sometimes it’s not all about bath art but about its design and how it smells.

My skin still feels silky smooth several hours after getting out of the bath. I wouldn’t say my skin feels particularly hydrated after using Mother Nature but I’m not desperate to slather myself in a body lotion either.

Overall, I absolutely adore the Mother Nature bath bomb, it really does make you realise that the big and multicoloured bath bombs aren’t always the best. I am looking forward to seeing what other smaller bath bombs Lush come up with in the future.

The Old Songs Are Waking Sugar Scrub from Lush

The Old Songs Are Waking Sugar Scrub is a brand-new, limited-edition product from Lush’s 2024 Mother’s Day line. I was lucky enough to get to try it before its initial release as Lush gifted me a pot. Since, I have bought myself another pot which I think speaks volumes on how much I like the product!

Back in August 2023 Lush released the Barbie Dream sugar scrub and I have never loved an exfoliation product from Lush more. I was therefore over the moon to see that The Old Songs Are Waking was also a sugar scrub. Mark my words, sugar scrubs are Lush’s next bestsellers, there’s just something so special about them.

The Old Songs Are Waking sugar scrub contains caster sugar, fair trade organic cocoa butter, babassu oil, extra virgin coconut oil, tonka absolute, vanilla absolute, bergamot oil and olibanum resinoid. As you can see in the photo below, the, The Old Songs Are Waking sugar scrub is a swirl of blue and white with a generous sprinkling of golden lustre. It looks almost too pretty to use.

Scent-wise, the, The Old Songs Are Waking sugar scrub is complicated but delicious. By complicated I mean almost impossible to describe, it’s sweet and fruity but also has non-sickly candy-like elements to it too. The tonka and vanilla absolutes mixed with the bergamot oil is a blend made in heaven. It smells so clean and fresh; I could imagine the scent selling well as a laundry detergent.

Consistency-wise, the, The Old Songs Are Waking sugar scrub is really thick, it’s most like the Barbie Dream sugar scrub I mentioned earlier but has elements of the Intergalactic body scrub too.

On the pot it says that it is a ‘smoothing sugar scrub that calls for you to sing while you bathe or shower’. After scooping out a small amount, I lathered it up and went straight to work with it.

I advise rubbing the sugar scrub in, in small, circular motions followed by rinsing it off. A small amount of the scrub goes a very long way, and I was pleasantly surprised at just how quickly it lathered up too.

I am just as impressed with the, The Old Songs Are Waking sugar scrub for exfoliation as I was the Barbie Dream sugar scrub. Lush really do need to make more sugar scrubs in all of their best-selling scents, all of the ones that have been released so far have been absolutely incredible.

I speak so highly of Lush’s sugar scrubs because of how they make my skin feel after using them. Lush’s new sugar-scrub-formula is really gentle but so incredibly scrubby at the same time.

With both the Barbie Dream and the, The Old Songs Are Waking sugar scrubs, Lush have balanced the ratio of caster sugar and skin-moisturising ingredients perfectly. The Old Songs Are Waking is just as buttery as it is scrubby. It’s one of the best exfoliators I have ever used. There’s no need for body lotion afterwards and my skin has never looked so bright.

Overall, I am more than a little obsessed with the, The Old Songs Are Waking sugar scrub. I hope that Lush decide to make a sugar scrub a part of their main line (instead of just a limited-edition product) soon. I’d be more than happy for the, The Old Songs Are Waking to be a main line sugar scrub but am also excited to see what other sugar scrubs Lush can make us!
