NEW SHAPE Ickle Baby Bot Bath Bomb from Lush

I’ve been asked several times now if the new shaped Ickle Baby Bot Bath Bomb is any different from the older one (found here).

I wasn’t going to review it as the changes really are purely decorative but the more, I get asked the more I think, I’ll just do a post on it!

The new shaped Ickle Baby Bot bath bomb is the exact same ingredients, scent, and everything else as the previous one, the only difference is that Ickle Baby Bot now has a big belly, something I am guilty of getting myself over the years… 😉

Ickle Baby Bot’s new look is just as adorable as before and was redesigned still with children still in mind. It contains lavender, chamomile and sandalwood oil which is the perfect recipe to prepare you or your little ones for a great night’s sleep.

The Ickle Baby Bot has a very gentle formula and because of this was one of the first Lush products that I ever tried. I was told that it was suitable for babies from 6 months plus. Feeling safe with this knowledge, I figured that Ickle Baby Bot was a good first product choice for myself when I first got into Lush.

Ickle Baby Bot is a miniature sized, robot shaped, pastel-blue coloured bath bomb. As I said above it was designed with kids in mind and is desirable to both boys and girls.

I do not dislike the Ickle Baby Bot bath bomb, but I do prefer the alternative lavender-based bath bombs that are a bit more theatrical in the bathtub. I popped my very first Ickle Baby Bot into my bath then went straight to the toilet. Before I came back to it, it had already fizzled away.

As it is a smaller sized bath bomb, I wasn’t too surprised by this. Pushing bath time theatrics aside, I love how quick, simple, and effective the Ickle Baby Bot bath bomb is. Sometimes you just want to get on with your bath, making Ickle Baby Bot a popular choice for people pushed for time.

It really all depends on what you want out of the bath bomb you’re about to use. If a quick fix is what you’re after Ickle Baby Bot is a good choice.

An Ickle Baby Bot bath is perfect for the night-time. It can be made even better if paired up with the Sleepy shower gel and/or the Twilight bath bomb.

I love lavender and how versatile it is as an herb. It makes Ickle Baby Bot the perfect bath time buddy for winding down and clearing your head of any stress.

Being one of the cheapest bath bombs currently on offer, Ickle Baby Bot though very small remains a very popular bath bomb.

Gummy Bear Shower Jelly from Lush

The Gummy Bear Shower Jelly is a brand-new, limited-edition, Easter product that first became available in the UK at the start of March 2022. Designed to look just like the bear shaped sweets adored by children and adults alike, I couldn’t wait to get my hands on a pot.

Gummy Bear is a fairly small 85g, bright orange shower jelly. It fits perfectly in my hand making it very easy to use.

The Gummy Bear shower jelly contains coconut milk, fresh mango juice and the following essential oils, buchu, cardamom, litsea cubeba and sweet wild orange. Its scent is new to Lush too, it smells of a strong, tropical-fruit-cocktail with a super-sugary sweet twist.

It’s a very punchy and heavy scent, if you like the bolder Lush-scent families, I’d recommend giving the Gummy Bear shower jelly a try.

With Gummy Bear being a character shaped shower jelly, I was hesitant to use it at first as unfortunately I find more often than not, that the character shaped jellies aren’t always as sturdy and robust as the normal pot shaped ones.

As predicted, Gummy Bear did begin to fall apart after just a few uses. However, I realised I’d rather use it and lose it than not use it at all! So far, I’ve used it 4 times and although it is showing wear and tear, there’s plenty more to go around yet.

There is no right or wrong way to use a shower jelly, I prefer to use mine in the same way as you would a bar of soap, whole. Some people however chop their shower jellies up using a few pieces at a time – a good method if you’re sharing it with someone else.

If you do keep it whole, as I mentioned above, the Gummy Bear shower jelly is just the right size to fit snuggly in your hand. It is a lot easier to keep a hold of in the shower being this size. Once you’ve used it simply rinse it off and then pop it back into the pot until you next want to use it.

The Gummy Bear shower jelly lathers up quickly and creates a super creamy, almost-milky foam. A little goes a long way and glides over your skin easily.

As I stated earlier its scent is strong. As soon as you take the pots lid off, you are hit with its fruity scent BUT in use it really comes alive. Mixed alongside the hot water and steam of the shower its scent literally engulfs your bathroom. It has a tartness to it that makes me think of fruit pastels and jelly babies.

After using the Gummy Bear shower jelly my skin feels soft, clean, and fresh, it also appears somewhat brighter. It isn’t hugely moisturising but doesn’t leave me desperate to coat myself in body lotion either.

Overall I have enjoyed using the Gummy Bears shower jelly, it’s not my favourite from this year’s Easter line but I can see it selling quite well.

Deep Sleep Bath Bomb from Lush

The Deep Sleep Bath Bomb was one of the first products I grabbed on my very first visit to Lush Liverpool on their opening day back in 2019. It is safe to assume that the bath bomb has been well received by Lush customers as several years after the Liverpool stores grand opening, the Deep Sleep bath bomb is still available as an all year round product in both stores and online.

As you can see from the photograph above, the Deep Sleep bath bomb isn’t your average looking Lush bath bomb as it is wrapped in a fully compostable muslin cloth.

With the Deep Sleep bath bomb being wrapped it means you can enjoy the dry lavender and German chamomile flowers that are hidden within it without the fear of clogging up your pipes with the bits of flowers that could end up going down your plug hole when the bath drains. It is also a huge bonus for those customers that dislike any ‘bits’ floating around in the bath with them. Put simply, you get all of the benefits from the ingredients without the mess!

Alongside the above-mentioned flowers, the Deep Sleep bath bomb also contains lavender absolute and the following essential oils, lavender, chamomile and neroli. Scent-wise my nose mostly picks up on all of the lavender in the Deep Sleep bath bomb, it’s a very sweet yet herbal scent, it actually reminds me of my childhood home. We had lavender growing right outside of our front door, I remember my nan rubbing her hands on bits of the lavender she had picked every time she went past it.

As soon as the Deep Sleep bath bomb touches the water you are greeted with a gentle hiss, slowly but surely, purple bubbles fizz out of the bath bomb turning the bath water a very inviting, Cadbury purple colour.

If you thought the Twilight bath bomb was great to use before bed, then you’ll be blown away with Deep Sleep. When used just before bed, the lavender and chamomile blend really helps lull you into a truly relaxed state of mind. As soon as you lay back into a Deep Sleep bath you can feel yourself instantly relax, all tension that has built up in your body that day simply melts away.

The Deep Sleep bath bomb takes approximately 8 to 10 minutes to fully dissolve, only the muslin cloth full of the dry lavender and German chamomile flowers remains, floating around your bath adding not just to the baths scent but also to how soft the bath water is.

The water is a beautiful shade of purple and silky smooth to touch, it leaves my skin feeling soothed and refreshed. The scent of Deep Sleep is still detectable on my skin the morning after I have used it too. This allows Deep Sleep’s calming effects to work on me right through until the next day.

If you’re looking for bath art, Deep Sleep wouldn’t be a good choice BUT if you are just chasing a good night’s sleep, this bath bomb may just be the key ingredient you’ve been looking for. Overall, I am super impressed with the Deep Sleep bath bomb, my excuse for taking so long to finally review it on here is based on its price. If it wasn’t so expensive, I’d be using it a lot more often!
