Snowy Bath Bomb from Lush

The Snowy Bath Bomb is a brand-new, limited-edition product from Lush’s 2023 Christmas line.

Snowy is a cute snowman head, it is designed to look like it has coal for a smile, nose and eyes while also wearing a blue, bath-bomb-beanie-hat with a bright white bobble on its top.

Weighing in at approximately 180g each, the Snowy bath bomb is the same size as the New Snow Fairy bath bomb from the same line.

The Snowy bath bomb contains bergamot oil, lavender oil and lemongrass oil.

It shares its scent with Lush’s Love shower gel. If you’ve been a Lush customer for quite some time, you’ll most likely recognise its scent from the Love body spray and Fizzbanger bath bomb.

The ‘Love’ scent family is a much-loved Lush fragrance that has most recently come back through the charity product, the Welcome bath bomb too.

The Love Lush-scent-family is best described as fierce. It is always the most dominant scented product in the room and is easily recognised.

My nose mostly picks up on the lemongrass and bergamot oil in it, but I’d describe it as smelling sweet with a pinch of spiciness. It’s a very sharp yet musky citrus.

As soon as the Snowy bath bomb touches the water you are greeted with a gentle stream of blue and white bubbles.

The Snowy bath bomb is not fantastic bath-art-wise as it sinks BUT the blue and white colours of it are so striking together as it fizzes away. When bath bombs sink, I like to lie back and let the bubbles tickle my back, it’s so relaxing!

The Snowy bath bomb takes approximately 10 minutes to fully dissolve and turns your bath water a bold and very bright shade of sky blue. With all the grey skies lately, it’s really made me miss the Summer…

I found the waters left behind by the Snowy bath bomb really warming on your skin. The scent remains in your bathroom (although not as strongly) long after you pull the plug too.

The ‘Love’ scent can also still be detected on your skin long after getting out of the bath and my skin still felt soft and appeared brighter the next day after using it.

I really enjoyed using the Snowy bath bomb, I’d have maybe liked a bit more bath art out of it but other than that I think it’s the perfect little Christmas time bath bomb.

Jingle Bells Bath Bomb from Lush

This year the Jingle Bells Bath Bomb has made a return, it however has a very different scent from before. Jingle Bells now shares its scent with the Baked Alaska soap. – If you really miss the old version of the Jingle Bells bath bomb try the Toby’s Magic Cow bath bomb as it shares its scent with the older version of the Jingle Bells bath bomb.

The Jingle Bells bath bomb is unique to any other bath bomb currently available from Lush. It is hand pressed into a bell-shaped mould.

Inside of it is a small amount of open space (however, it’s not completely hollow) a small amount of loose bath bomb chunks is in this little pocket of space inside of Jingle Bells. If you shake the bath bomb, it’s just like a bell, although to me, it sounds closer to a maraca! 😉

The Jingle Bells bath bomb is white all over with a red bow on its top. Stars are etched into its top half while the bottom of it looks just like a mini circular-bell does, with 4 holes in a cross shape.

When the first version of the Jingle Bells bath bomb was released, it was a lot bigger, now it is the same size as the average sized bath bomb (as a reference, this is the same size as the bestselling Twilight and Intergalactic bath bombs).

Being honest, as always – I much prefer it in its smaller sized format. There’s not much difference between the 2 but I think the smaller bath bombs seem to give you the better bath art.

The Jingle Bells bath bomb contains lemon myrtle, ylang ylang and grapefruit oils. Its scent is a strong citrusy one, so strong that I can immediately smell it as soon as I walk into a room that it is in.

I’ve seen on the Lush website that quite a few customers have said its citrusy scent doesn’t fit in with the Christmas theme at all. I couldn’t disagree more, the scent is perfect for this time of year, it really wakes me up and we all know how hard it is to get out of bed on a cold Winters morning!

I’d go as far as to say it’s even more awakening than the Avobath bath bomb.

As soon as the Jingle Bells bath bomb meets your bath water there is an explosion of bright white foam. The first bit of colour to appear from it is from the red bow that sits on its top.

Slowly but surely. Red and white foam begin to make a swirling pattern as the Jingle Bells bath bomb dances around the water.

After a few minutes the red seems to dwindle a little, mostly white foam comes out of the bath bomb. Just as you think the bath art show is over blue foam bursts out of the bath bomb too.

Red, white, and blue spill out of the bath bomb as its bobs around your bath, my pictures do the pretty-bath-art that the Jingle Bells bath bomb creates no justice at all!

The colours clash so well making the patterns it creates really pop.

Underneath the bath art, your bath water begins to change colour, the water left behind is a beautiful shade of milky violet.

The Jingle Bells bath bomb is fully dissolved within 10 minutes. Its super awakening scent fills your bathroom, banishing away all of your Winter blues.

The milky violet water is also silky smooth, my skin laps it up; Normally the citrusy products don’t hydrate my skin as well as others, but my skin feels and smells fabulous after a good soak in a Jingle Bells bath.

Overall, I am really impressed with the new version of the Jingle Bells bath bomb, the scent is a huge improvement in my eyes, and I have my fingers crossed it comes back in next years’ Winter line too!

Plum Duff Shower Gel from Lush

The Plum Duff Shower Gel has just been released as a part of Lush’s 2021 Winter line. It’s a brand-new product but not a brand-new scent. The Plum Duff scent has been brought back to life in this shower gel, I have only ever experienced it before in a sugar scrub format, several years ago.

Plum Duff is a rich, dark purple and has a thick but easy to get out of the bottle consistency. Colour and consistency wise it is very similar to the Plum Rain shower gel, apart from the colour, consistency and the word ‘Plum’ appearing in both of their names, this is the only things the shower gels have in common. Plum Rain and Plum Duff are not the same scent.

Plum Duff contains both cedarwood and tangerine oil as well as raisin infusion and benzoin resinoid.

Plum Duff’s scent is a gentle one with fruity and woody elements. The cedarwood rounds off the sweet and zestyness of the tangerine oil while the  benzoin resinoid adds an earthiness. Apparently, its name was inspired by a Christmas pudding, although I don’t know which one as I always eat chocolate puddings at Christmas!

As I said earlier Plum Duff’s consistency is thick but not so thick it’s hard to get out of the bottle. It lathers up in your hands easily and the fruity side of it really shines through when mixed with the hot water and steam of the shower.

I will admit that I wasn’t blown away with Plum Duff when I sniffed it straight from the bottle, but it grew on me once I’d tried it in the shower. Its scent although delicate did perk me up somewhat and a very small amount of it goes a very long way.

I couldn’t smell the Plum Duff shower gel on my skin once I got out of the shower, even when I over-indulged, using more than needed it didn’t seem to last. It did however leave my skin softer, almost as if the shower gel had an invisible exfoliant in. It cleanses skin well and leaves it hydrated enough to get away with not moisturising after your shower.

While the Plum Duff shower gel hasn’t got me as excited as past Winter shower gels such as Bubbly, Hot Toddy and Calacas, it did grow on me the more I used it. I can see it selling well to customers that prefer a more gentle scented shower gel.

In my opinion it isn’t very Christmassy either so I imagine it would also be popular with customers that aren’t quite ready to embrace Christmas 2021 just yet…
