Fluffy Egg Bath Bomb from Lush

Fluffy Egg Bath Bomb.pngIt’s crazy to think that Easter 2016 has already been and gone, the first 5 or so months of the year normally creep past making Spring and Summer appear to be just a myth… What feels like 10 minutes after new years eve is now May the 5th!? Better late than never, here is my review on the beautiful florally decorated, hot-pink, egg shaped bath bomb called the Fluffy Egg!

Sharing its scent with the much loved Christmas shower gel Snow Fairy, Fluffy Egg has always proved very popular with Lush fans, coming back as an Easter exclusive every year since its original release. If you haven’t experienced the Snow Fairy scent before, it’s a very sickly-sweet smell, think bubblegum, oodles of sugar and candy floss galore.

I am going to admit that I am one of the very few people that doesn’t get ridiculously excited about the Snow Fairy scent. It’s not at all unpleasant, in fact its a very likeable scent. I however have never had much of a sweet tooth so it’s never going to be my go to product. If I however was faced with the choice of a chocolate Easter egg or this Fluffy Egg bath bomb, I’d pick the bath bomb every time.

Upon hitting the water Fluffy Egg starts to fizzle away ferociously. Floating just beneath the surface of the water, Fluffy Egg immediately starts to change your bath water into a sea of pink magic. Although Fluffy Egg is a very fast fizzer its scent stays with you through out the whole of your bath.

Not only does Fluffy Egg’s scent stay with you right up until the last drop of bath water goes down the plug hole, it also lingers on your skin for the best part of the day after getting out. I wouldn’t say that this bath bomb was particularly moisturising.

Most Lush bath bombs hydrate my skin so much so that I do not have to moisturise myself after. With Fluffy Egg I however found my skin a little dry after I got out of the bath. I just wish I had a Snow Fairy scented body lotion as I hate the idea of masking its scent with another product entirely.

Luckily, since first writing this review in May 2016, Lush have blessed us all with a Snow Fairy body conditioner ( first released as a part of Lush’s 2017 Winter line). Although it’s not quite the same as a body lotion, it does a very similar job and it shares the same scent  as Fluffy so there’s not two different scents masking one of the other.

Fluffy Egg as I said above is a very quick fizzer, the quick fizzers sometimes dissolve away so fast that you don’t get to appreciate some of the patterns a bath bomb can make.

Although the pretty bath art made by the Fluffy Egg bath bomb is nowhere on par to the likes of many other bath bombs, I do love the colour pink so I can’t complain. Sometimes less is more.

I wish they did this bath bomb in a blue colour too. I know my nieces and nephews would LOVE to use these mini egg bath bombs but the boys would never speak to me again if I got them a pink present… So ungrateful! 😉

Overall I think Fluffy Egg is a great addition to Lush’s Easter line and I look forward to hopefully seeing it again in 2017.

Down the Rabbit Hole Bubble Bar from Lush

down the rabbit hole bubble bar

Down the Rabbit Hole Bubble Bar is yet another Lush Oxford Street, Easter exclusive.

Some of you however may have been lucky enough to pick one or two of these up from the Lush Kitchen last week.  That particular batch sold out within minutes, if you managed to get just one I’d very much like to shake your hand as you’ve a good set of super, speedy fingers!

Prior to last weeks Kitchen release Down the Rabbit Hole Bubble Bar was only ever available from the Oxford Street store.  I guess the sheer exclusiveness of this product was the catalyst that made the Kitchen batch sell out so very quickly.

On paper the Down the Rabbit Hole Bubble Bar sounds amazing, being a HUGE fan of anything remotely citrusy I just had to check this bubble bar out before Easter 2016 came to an end.

Down the Rabbit Hole’s main ingredient is Brazilian sweet orange oil, this essential oil is very popular within Lush products.  Not only does it smell delicious, it also has skin brightening properties.  Its sweet tangy scent is the perfect pick-me-up should you find yourself down in the dumps.

The first thing that you notice about Down the Rabbit Hole Bubble Bar besides its uplifting scent is how very pleasing it is on the eye.  The deep pink, summer orange and dazzling yellows that this product consists of all blend together beautifully.  each swirl of colour compliments each other making it that little bit more eye catching than other products.

Based on Lewis Carroll’s much loved Alice in Wonderland stories, the rabbit hole is where Alice fell to end up in ‘Wonderland.’ When you look at it, the gentle swirl-design of this bubble bar does have a very hypnotic and wacky look about it…

Lush make so many attractive products that sometimes you can get a little overwhelmed.  The thought of breaking up this gorgeous bubble bar made me a little sad, I very nearly didn’t.  I however know that Lush pride themselves on the fact that their products are fresh so wanted to use this exclusive bubble bar in its prime.

In diameter the Down the Rabbit Hole Bubble Bar is similar to the super chunky bubble bar The Comforter.  It however isn’t as thick, I’d say it’s probably about half of its size in depth.

Down the Rabbit Hole’s thinness in comparison to the chunky bubble bars that Lush have on offer mean that this bubble bar won’t stretch over as many baths as I had grown accustom to with the likes of Brightside and The comforter.

The Comforter bubble bar would make me 8 maybe 9 generously bubbled-bubble-baths.

After experimenting a couple of times with the Down the Rabbit Hole Bubble Bar I recommend that you use at least half of it per bath. Using a quarter of it left me with only a light blanket of bubbles and hardly any scent at all.

Included in Down the Rabbit Hole’s ingredients are various types of lustre making the bath water underneath the canopy of bubbles sparkle away.

I know some people think lustre is glitter, the mere mention of it being an ingredient within a cosmetic product makes some literally run for their lives.  I am not sure how many times I have actually addressed this in my blog as people ask me about it all the time.  ‘Lush glitter’ isn’t scary at all, it actually makes for a very pleasant, bathing experience.  I feel as though I need to dedicate a paragraph like this to all of my lustre-infused-product reviews.

In my own words I would describe ‘lustre’ as cosmetic shimmer, it is very similar if not the same ingredient that you can find in various make up products such as bronzer.

I was so excited to try this product and by all means I enjoyed the bubble bath it created, I just wish its scent was a little more apparent.  Looks wise this bubble bar is one of the prettiest that Lush have provided us.  I however wouldn’t go out of my way to get more as I prefer the products with stronger scents.

What did you guys make of this bubble bar?

Tweet Bubble Bar from Lush

Tweet Bubble Bar.png

I managed to get hold of this Oxford Street 2016 Easter exclusive thanks to my sis-in-law who is literally my Lush lifeline, she’s an amazing personal shopper to have, you should all be very, very jealous.  Sending her on all of my Oxford Street errands has accidentally got her hooked on Lush Cosmetics too, whoops! I can’t take full credit though as lets face it, every single product in Lush sells itself, going into the shop, picking things up to sniff, touch and learn more about it is all part of the wonderful and very addictive Lush experience.

This Easter (2016), Lush Oxford Street have a brand new, slightly odd looking yet perfectly charming store exclusive, the Tweet Bubble Bar.

All Lush products are handmade, it is however not until a product like the Tweet bubble bar is released that you get to really appreciate this. Although each Tweet bubble bar weighs the same, (meaning you get the same amount of product in each) no two look quite the same. For someone like me who has an overactive imagination this personal and individual touch gives each Tweet chick its very own personality. Although the lack of consistency look-wise will bother some, I feel it’s all part of Lush’s charm.

Tweet bubble bar like quite a few of the recent Lush releases is another citrus scented product. It is very similar to the Sunflower bubble Bar that was also an Oxford Street exclusive earlier this year.

Packed with plenty of tangerine oil, Tweet is a bubble bar that will refresh and lift your mood whatever the weather. Within aromatherapy tangerine oil is used to relieve stress and is also said to help with insomnia. As an ex(ish) insomniac I can honestly say that since using Lush products before bed I have noticed such a positive difference in my sleep pattern. Although I am not completely cured I now find it so much easier to drift off to sleep, getting that extra few hours of sleep in comparison to none at all is a god send.

I broke my first Tweet bubble bar into two. This amount made copious amount of soft, citrus-sweet bubbles. In hindsight I wish I would have spread the Tweet bar over 3 baths as it is more than capable of doing so.

Spread out over 2 baths Tweet more than adequately met my bathing needs. The only negative thought I have of it is that I just always get a little frustrated when a really good bubble bar isn’t the same size as for example the, The Comforter bubble bar. I’m just a greedy guts like that… This point is of course more of a reflection on me than Tweet!

My skin, dry and feeling a little more sensitive than normal due to the increase in amount of hydro sessions I have had to put my body through felt instantly soothed.

I spent a little bit longer in this Tweet bath than I would normally do, I was just so very relaxed.

Several hours after getting out of a Tweet bath my skin is still beautifully hydrated and the scent of the Tweet bubble bar is still very prominent on my skin. I wish I had a few more of these in my personal Lush stash as they really are such a good Lush product.

I hope they come back for Easter 2017!
