Milk Bucket Shower Jelly from Lush

The Milk Bucket Shower Jelly is a brand-new, limited-edition product from Lush’s Minecraft X Lush collaboration, I was lucky enough to be sent a pot of it by Lush earlier this week.

Before this line came out, I had heard of the Minecraft computer game but had never played it.

Since, I have finally tried the game to see what all the fuss was about. I spent about an hour getting myself out of a big hole that I had fallen down and not much else…

Some people are good at computer games, I am not one of them. I’m going to stick to just using bath products for now!

In the Minecraft game a milk bucket is one of the many food items that you can make, it’s useful as a food source and can also be used to cure status effects.

It has been a while since I have reviewed a shower jelly that isn’t in a novelty, character shape. The Milk Bucket shower jelly is the standard Lush shower jelly shape; The exact same shape as its pot.

Each of the Milk Bucket shower jellies are 100g each just big enough to fit in your hand.

Just like an actual bucket of milk, the Milk Bucket shower jelly is an opaque, milk-white colour.

The Milk Bucket shower jelly contains glycerine, almond milk, carrageenan extract, coconut milk powder, Brazilian orange oil and patchouli oil.

Milk Bucket shares its scent with the main-line Lush products, Milky Bath bubble bar, Toby’s Magic Cow bath bomb and the recent limited edition release, the Saltbomb bath bomb.

The Milk Buckets scent is best described as a gentle and musky fragrance that is incredibly calming.

I ordinarily find the shower jellies that aren’t novelty shaped to be sturdier and more robust during use; They always seem to last longer, breaking up a lot slower than the character shaped shower jellies such as the Krang and Snow Fairy shower jelly.

There is no right or wrong way to use a shower jelly, I prefer to use mine in the same way as you would a bar of soap, whole.

Some people however chop their shower jellies up using a few pieces at a time, this is a good method if you’re sharing it with someone else.

Once you’ve used it simply rinse it off and then pop it back into the pot and put the lid back on.

The Milk Bucket shower jelly lathers up quickly, I find this a real positive for shower jellies as they can be a little slippery, after all they are made of jelly! I seemed to however be wrong about this shower jellies sturdiness…

It started to break up a lot quicker than I had anticipated (after just one use it was a lot flimsier) I’m having a guess that this is because of its higher than average milk content. This doesn’t mean the shower jelly doesn’t however work. It just shows wear and tear almost immediately, running out a little quicker than I’d have hoped.

Even with this in mind, I can still see it lasting me another 4 possibly 5 showers.

After using the Milk Bucket shower jelly my skin feels soft, clean, and hydrated. The scent although light remains on my skin for a good few hours after using it too.

Overall, it is a good shower jelly and I’m so happy to experience the Milky Bath Lush-scent-family in this format, it makes a change from bath bomb after bath bomb.

Krang Shower Jelly from Lush

The Krang Shower Jelly is a brand-new, limited-edition product from Lush’s TMNT x LUSH collaboration.

The collaboration has included a TMNT themed Lush Kitchen Subscription Box and also a collection of online and in store products too.

The Krang shower jelly is from the online and in store collection. I was lucky enough to be sent a tin with him in, thank you again, Lush!

Krang is a supervillain in the world of Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles and what a scary looking supervillain he is. He’s a brain, with a face and has weird wormy bits which I think could be arms? I am just as terrified of him now as I was as a kid. Too terrified to even do a little research on him… Sorry!

I don’t think I was even this freaked out by a product when I had to review the Tarantula shower jelly a few years ago.

Yes, the Krang shower jelly is very scary looking but he smells delicious, so it didn’t take much convincing for me to share a shower with him!

The Krang shower jelly is the exact same product as the Conga shower jelly. It is just Krang shaped. It’s even the same light pink colour. Each of the Krang shower jellies are 150g each and strangely come in a tin.

Every other shower jelly I have ever got from Lush have been in the plastic pots so having it in a tin is a bit of a novelty, the tin has amazing art work on it too so I’ll definitely be keeping it.

The Krang shower jelly contains glycerine, Irish moss infusion, carrageenan extract, bergamot oil, davana oil, almond essential oil and vanilla absolute. Its scent reminds me of raspberries, it’s fruity and sweet with a sour twist.

With Krang being a novelty shaped shower jelly, I wondered how long it would last as unfortunately I find more often than not, that the novelty shaped jellies aren’t always as sturdy and robust as the normal, pot-shaped-ones.

As predicted, the Krang shower jelly did get a little flimsy after just a few uses. However, I’d rather use it and lose it than not use it at all. So far, I’ve used it 3 times and although it is showing a small amount of wear and tear, there’s plenty more of it to go around yet.

There is no right or wrong way to use a shower jelly, I prefer to use mine in the same way as you would a bar of soap, whole. Some people however chop their shower jellies up using a few pieces at a time, this is a good method if you’re sharing it with someone else.

If you do keep it whole, the Krang shower jelly is big enough to fit in your hand. Once you’ve used it simply rinse it off and then pop it back into the pot and put the lid back on.

The Krang shower jelly lathers up quickly so you’re not stuck lathering it in your hands for ages, I find this a real positive for shower jellies as they can be a little slippery.

I can see it lasting me maybe 6 or 7 more showers, potentially more. Although, I’m not sure for how much longer it will stay whole.

After using the Krang shower jelly my skin feels soft, clean, and completely refreshed. I also found the scent remained on my skin for a good few hours after using it although, it’s faint.

Once I got over my fear of ‘the brain with a face’ I had the shower of a lifetime with Krang. Overall, it is a very good product that fits into the TMNT world perfectly!

Easter Turtle Shower Jelly from Lush

The Easter Turtle Shower Jelly is a brand-new, limited-edition product from Lush’s 2024 Easter line. I was lucky enough to get to try it before its initial release date as Lush kindly sent me one.

Designed to look just like a giant sea turtle, I couldn’t wait to give it a go in the shower.

The Easter Turtle is a mix of different shades of green and HUGE. Each jelly is 220g making it even bigger than both the Monster Octopus shower jelly and Tarantula shower jelly.

The Easter Turtle shower jelly contains bladderwrack seaweed infusion, sugar kelp infusion, carrageenan extract, myrrh resinoid, orange flower absolute and cinnamon leaf oil.

It shares its scent with the Apple Crumble bubble barTemptation shower gel and Dreidel, Dreidel, Dreidel bath bomb.

Straight out of the pot it’s an intense and warm fragrance, there’s an element of baked apples in there but I can also smell something I can only describe as being very green. At one point I was wrongly convinced it had elements of the Grass Lush-scent-family in it too.

Anyone who knows me personally will know that a sea turtle is one of my favourite animals and one I have been lucky enough to swim with in the Indian Ocean. This sea turtle shaped shower jelly has made me reflect on some of my most treasured memories.

With Easter Turtle being a novelty shaped shower jelly, I wondered how long it would last as unfortunately I find more often than not, that the novelty shaped jellies aren’t always as sturdy and robust as the normal, pot-shaped-ones.

As predicted, the Easter Turtle shower jelly did get a little flimsy after just a few uses. However, I’d rather use it and lose it than not use it at all… So far, I’ve used it 4 times and although it is showing a small amount of wear and tear, there’s plenty more of it to go around yet.

There is no right or wrong way to use a shower jelly, I prefer to use mine in the same way as you would a bar of soap, whole. Some people however chop their shower jellies up using a few pieces at a time, this is a good method if you’re sharing it with someone else.

If you do keep it whole, as I mentioned above, the Easter Turtle shower jelly is big enough to fit in your hand. It is a lot easier to keep a hold of in the shower being so big. Once you’ve used it simply rinse it off and then pop it back into the pot until you next want to use it.

The Easter Turtle shower jelly lathers up quickly, once you have enough of a lather it in your hands pop the shower jelly back in its pot and start to work your wet hands together.

Before I ever use a Lush product that I plan on reviewing, I always take photos beforehand. When taking the above photo, all I did was take the Easter Turtle out of its pot and place it into my bathtub so that I could get a photo of it. I hardly had any contact with it at all but could smell it on my hands/wrists for the rest of the day.

You do not have to lather the Easter Turtle for very long at all, a very small amount of it goes a long way.

As I stated earlier, The Easter Turtle shower jellies scent is intense. As soon as you take the pots lid off, you are hit with its fragrance BUT in use, the scent seems to explode, filling your bathroom and drenching your skin with its fragrance.

After using the Easter Turtle shower jelly my skin feels soft, warm, clean, and refreshed.

Overall, I really enjoyed using the Easter Turtle shower jelly, it has such a strong and unique fragrance that seems to work in whatever format Lush decide to release it in.
