Tweet Bubble Bar from Lush

I managed to get hold of this Oxford Street 2016 Easter exclusive thanks to my sis-in-law who is literally my Lush lifeline, she’s an amazing personal shopper to have, you should all be very, very jealous.  Sending her on all of my Oxford Street errands has accidentally got her hooked on Lush Cosmetics too, whoops! I can’t take full credit though as lets face it, every single product in Lush sells itself, going into the shop, picking things up to sniff, touch and learn more about it is all part of the wonderful and very addictive Lush experience.

This Easter (2016), Lush Oxford Street have a brand new, slightly odd looking yet perfectly charming store exclusive, the Tweet Bubble Bar.

All Lush products are handmade, it is however not until a product like the Tweet bubble bar is released that you get to really appreciate this. Although each Tweet bubble bar weighs the same, (meaning you get the same amount of product in each) no two look quite the same. For someone like me who has an overactive imagination this personal and individual touch gives each Tweet chick its very own personality. Although the lack of consistency look-wise will bother some, I feel it’s all part of Lush’s charm.

Tweet bubble bar like quite a few of the recent Lush releases is another citrus scented product. It is very similar to the Sunflower bubble Bar that was also an Oxford Street exclusive earlier this year.

Packed with plenty of tangerine oil, Tweet is a bubble bar that will refresh and lift your mood whatever the weather. Within aromatherapy tangerine oil is used to relieve stress and is also said to help with insomnia. As an ex(ish) insomniac I can honestly say that since using Lush products before bed I have noticed such a positive difference in my sleep pattern. Although I am not completely cured I now find it so much easier to drift off to sleep, getting that extra few hours of sleep in comparison to none at all is a god send.

I broke my first Tweet bubble bar into two. This amount made copious amount of soft, citrus-sweet bubbles. In hindsight I wish I would have spread the Tweet bar over 3 baths as it is more than capable of doing so.

Spread out over 2 baths Tweet more than adequately met my bathing needs. The only negative thought I have of it is that I just always get a little frustrated when a really good bubble bar isn’t the same size as for example the, The Comforter bubble bar. I’m just a greedy guts like that… This point is of course more of a reflection on me than Tweet!

My skin, dry and feeling a little more sensitive than normal due to the increase in amount of hydro sessions I have had to put my body through felt instantly soothed.

I spent a little bit longer in this Tweet bath than I would normally do, I was just so very relaxed.

Several hours after getting out of a Tweet bath my skin is still beautifully hydrated and the scent of the Tweet bubble bar is still very prominent on my skin. I wish I had a few more of these in my personal Lush stash as they really are such a good Lush product.

I hope they come back for Easter 2017!

Yummy Mummy Shower Cream from Lush

Yummy Mummy Shower Cream

I have finally found a moment to blog about one of the new Mother’s Day products from Lush. This year (2016) we have been treated to a brand new product, the Yummy Mummy Shower Cream. Previous to this, Yummy Mummy had only ever been released as a shower gel.

*Lush did also create a body conditioner with the same name but for the purpose of this review I am talking about the change from Yummy Mummy shower gel, to Yummy Mummy shower cream*

I guess turning the shower gel into a cream brings the best parts of the shower gel and body conditioner into one product. I know that not everyone is happy with the switch from gel to cream, I however love the change. Don’t get me wrong, I loved Yummy Mummy shower gel, I just always seem to favour the shower creams over the gels. For me, the shower creams feel just that little bit more luxurious in comparison to the gels.

Obviously the first thing that catches your eye with Yummy Mummy shower cream is its beautiful lustre-infused purple colour. The Yummy Mummy shower cream looks and feels like liquid velvet, it’s a real treat for dehydrated skin.

Once you have used the shower cream its sweet, fruity scent lingers on your skin long after getting out of the bath or shower.

Yummy Mummy shower cream shares its scent with the 2015 winter ranges bubble bar, the Peeping Santa. I loved Peeping Santa and was very happy to see the Yummy Mummy scent making a return in yet another format for this years Mother’s Day line.

What pleases me even more is that the Yummy Mummy shower cream is not the only product available in this years Mother’s day range that shares the scent, there is also the Roller bath bomb and Flutterby bubble bar too.

Although I’d say this shower cream is primarily a fruity scented product, the added geranium oil within it, though not very strong, gives it a very unique and soft, almost musky edge. It reminds me of freshly chopped strawberries which makes a change as most of the other fruity products that I normally go for are citrus based.

I really do hope that they bring this wonderful shower cream back for next years Mother’s Day.  I am so tempted to buy several to keep in my Lush stock but I’m trying to be good. I will have to just use the shower cream sparingly, which might I add isn’t a negative at all as a little of this shower cream goes a very, very long way.

Yog Nog Bath Bomb from Lush

Yog Nog Bath Bomb2
Slowly but surely I have been working my way through all of the winter 2015 Lush products.

Today I’d like to introduce you to the Yog Nog Bath Bomb. As you can see from the above picture, Yog Nog is a very unique looking bath bomb. It really is like no other. It has the most beautiful exterior, instead of it just being the standard smooth bath bomb it has lots of little Christmas shapes all around it.

Lush have stated that Yog Nog is ‘sweeter than dipping into your biscuit tin,’ which I know has left a lot of people intrigued. If you’re a frequent reader of my blog you’ll know that the ‘sweet products’ although very popular, are not always my favourite. Curiosity however took over and as soon as the 2015 Winter line became available online I ordered myself one to try.

Upon first sniff I was surprised at how much I actually did like the scent of the Yog Nog bath bomb. Sweet things and I do not always have the best relationship. For this reason I was a little worried that I wouldn’t like it. Being honest, I can’t even eat sweet things, I struggle after just two bites of a Kit Kat Chunky.

Although the Yog Nog bath bomb is sweet, there is definitely a note of spiciness within it. I think that this is the Yog Nog bath bombs saving grace with me, without that small splash of spice I don’t think I’d have been as keen of it as I was.

The Yog Nog bath bomb’s scent is compared to cinder toffee which makes it a great choice for a Christmas present for anyone with a super, sweet tooth.

Upon coming in contact with  the water, the Yog Nog bath bomb fizzes yellow and white.

As Yog Nog’s solid shell dissolves away you start to notice that it has several lumps of soft, buttery, bath melt hidden inside.

A Yog Nog bath left my skin beautifully smooth, soft and moisturised. It hydrated my winter battered, dry skin perfectly. What made it really special was that the scent of it stayed with me on my skin, throughout the rest of the day.

I found this bath bomb very relaxing, the only thing I disliked about it was how much oil it left around my bath tub. Although it was amazing for hydrating my skin it made the tub very slippery which is a little dangerous for me in particular as I am not at all stable on my feet due to EDS. When getting in and out of the bath I had to be very careful but in all honesty I always do so in hindsight it wasn’t a bad trait.

Most Lush bath bomb products wash off of your bathtub with a quick splash of hot water from the shower head, Yog Nog however needed a little bit of help, a dab of fairy liquid followed by the shower head removed it just fine. When you use a Lush product that is a little more hydrating than others, fairy liquid is actually the perfect thing to remove the excess oil left behind as it cuts through grease etc. It doesn’t only just work on dishes and cutlery but is also a very handy bathroom cleaner too!

I thoroughly enjoyed the Yog Nog bath bomb and I put it in amongst my other favourites Stardust, So White and Luxury Lush Pud.

The good news is they actually have a Yog Nog Soap and after Lush sent me a sample I ordered a great big bar of it, it smells so, so good!
