Magic Rabbit Bath Bomb from Lush

Magic Rabbit Bath Bomb

First released in 2020, the Magic Rabbit Bath Bomb was a limited edition Easter product. We’re normally used to egg shaped bath bombs for Easter so this bath bomb was quite the surprise. Based on its looks alone, the bath bomb is truly unique to anything Lush have ever released for the Easter period before. It’s uniqueness left me even more curious to try it.

The Magic Rabbit bath bomb is designed to look just like a magicians hat. Out of the hat you can see 2 white and pink rabbit ears. Just like the Not So Secret Santa bath bomb, the Magic Rabbit has a paper insert with a hidden face. The hat part of this product is the bath bomb while the bunny ears are the paper insert, meaning the rabbit really is IN the magicians hat!

The Magic Rabbit bath bombs scent is beautifully fruity, containing tonka absolute, davana and lemon myrtle oils its fragrance is a happy and uplifting one. Many have compared its scent to the Space Girl bath bombs scent family and I can definitely smell the resemblance, Magic Rabbit however has a light citrus-punch to it, think subtle-yet-sweet sherbet-lemon mixed with a powdery berry.

As soon as the Magic Rabbit bath bomb hits the water an explosion of purple foam bursts out of it. Shortly after that, the hats red rim also starts to fizz away creating streaks of red bubbles. Magic Rabbit is quite a heavy bath bomb, this shows in the time it takes to dissolve. You’ll have plenty of time to sit back and watch the beautiful red and purple bath art it creates.

It doesn’t take long for the popping candy inside of the Magic Rabbit bath bomb to react with the water either, out of the fizzing and crackling eventually appears a little white rabbit! – Unfortunately I didn’t get a photo of the rabbit as I accidentally ripped it, I guess this leaves how it looks as a surprise for you though. 😉 The water it leaves behind is a deep dark purple and is silky smooth to touch.

The Magic Rabbits beautiful scent lasts throughout your bath and is still detectable on your skin a good few hours after getting out too. I wouldn’t say my skin was particularly  hydrated after a long soak in this bath but my skin did appear brighter. Overall I am really impressed with this bath bomb and I’m gutted that I didn’t get to grab a few more before the Lush website temporarily closed due to Covid-19. I have my fingers crossed that it makes a return some time soon. 🤞

Unicorn Lip Scrub from Lush

Unicorn Lip Scrub (1)

At the point of writing this review the Unicorn Lip Scrub is now a part of Lush’s main-product-line. It is a brand new release for 2020 and has got a lot of people excited, me included.

I have loved the magic and wonder behind unicorns for as long as I can remember and I have always rooted for more unicorn-inspired Lush products to be released. I adore the Unicorn Horn bubble bar but there is still a huge gap for more unicorn inspired something-or-others on Lush’s shelves!

I knew as soon as I learnt of this lip scrubs name that I was going to buy a pot, buying Lush products blindly is something I haven’t done for a long time but I couldn’t resist upon hearing its name.

The main ingredient in Lush’s lip scrubs is caster sugar. To this day I am still lost for words that such a readily available and cheap ingredient can do such a great job.

Using a Lush lip scrub requires the minimum of effort and they cover everything your lips need to always look their best. They are the perfect product to gently buff away dead and dry skin from your lips and are also very good at softening and hydrating your lips too. Maintaining the perfect pout has never been easier or tastier thanks to Lush!

As well as caster sugar the Unicorn lip scrub also contains organic virgin plum and jojoba oils. Both of these ingredients are known for their emollient properties and is an exfoliatingly-smooth force-to-be-reckoned-with when put with caster sugar.

Unlike any other lip scrub released by Lush before, Unicorn has 2 layers. Its top layer is blue and its bottom layer is a purpley pink. Supposedly, the 2 layers are different flavours/scents. With mine arriving pretty much all mixed together I sadly can’t confirm this to be true or not.

The Unicorn lip scrub has an incredibly moreish blueberry muffin like fragrance. The taste that it leaves on your lips is however a little artificial, it reminds me a little of Lush’s Bubblegum lip scrub when you use too much. A little amount of the lip scrub does go a long way, with its flavour being so strong I’d say that less being more is a great rule to abide by when using the Unicorn lip scrub.

What I wasn’t expecting in the Unicorn lip scrub was popping candy, it was a very strange sensation but didn’t hinder its lip buffing qualities at all. Over all I do really like the Unicorn lip scrub, it’s not my favourite but it does what its meant to do. I would like to maybe improve upon its flavour slightly as it does taste a little artificial but I’ve enjoyed using it nevertheless!

Blazin’ Bad Zula Bath Bomb from Lush

blazin' bad zula bath bomb

The Blazin’ Bad Zula Bath Bomb is a brand new release from Lush’s 2020 Mother’s Day line. If you’re a Spice Girl fan like me, you may recognise this bath bombs name as it is named after Scary Spices alter ego in the Spice Girls 1996 top hit, Say You’ll Be There’s music video. My inner 6 year old squealed with excitement at the thought of a Spice Girl bath bomb, I just simply had to get a hold of one as quickly as possible.

In the 30 years I have lived on planet Earth I don’t think anything else has ever captivated my time and attention more than the Spice Girls did and Lush does now, mix them both together and I’m in heaven.

BlazinBadZula-1

Blazin’ Bad Zula’s scent is a fragrance we’ve had from Lush before, it shares its scent with the Chris The Camel bath bomb that was first released as a part of Lush’s 2019 Christmas line. Containing black pepper, cinnamon leaf, Brazilian orange and clove bud oils Blazin’ Bad Zula’s fragrance is sweet yet spicy. I personally really like its scent but have heard from a few others that it is quite the acquired taste.

Any Lush product with a hint of spice in especially cinnamon is bound to be a hit with me, as I suffer with chronic pain; The warm ingredients in certain Lush products are a god-send for me as they work wonders on aching muscles. My mission to help myself combat the chronic pain I suffer with is actually what first inspired me to get into Lush products, this makes Blazin’ Bad Zula even more exciting for me!

As you can see from the photos the Blazin’ Bad Zula bath bomb was designed with Scary Spices trademark leopard print in mind. What I wasn’t prepared for when I threw the Blazin’ Bad Zula bath bomb into the bath was the BATH ART.

phonto-2

The Blazin’ Bad Zula bath bomb is a very slow fizzer leaving you plenty of time to admire the bath art it leaves behind. As it bobs around in the water it shoots out a wide range of colours, yellows, purples, greens and blues; White foam too. My photos of the bath bomb in action do it no justice at all.

Once Blazin’ Bad Zula has completely dissolved the water left behind feels luxurious and silky smooth. It’s a very dark shade of purple with a generous helping of golden sparkle, as well as laying back in its warming and stimulating waters you can’t help but swish the water round, swirls of green and gold come to the surface before quickly disappearing again. It’s a true piece of art!

The sweet and spicy scent of the Blazin’ Bad Zula bath bomb lasts through out the whole bath. Once out of the bath its scent also remains on your skin for the best part of the rest of the day too. My nose always seems to detect a banana element to this bath bomb, it’s strange as, as far as I am aware it hasn’t got banana in but I’m not the only one to make the comparison.

If any Lush product has ever oozed girl power before it hasn’t been quite on par with the beautiful Blazin’ Bad Zula bath bomb. For lightly shimmered, glowing and beautifully hydrated skin give Blazin’ Bad Zula a go! I hope that Lush bring this bath bomb out again as I missed being able to stock up on it because of  the temporary closure due to social distancing. Fingers crossed! 🤞
