Brr! Shower Slime from Lush

Brr! Shower Slime First released back in July 2019, the shower slimes are still a relatively new product from Lush. With a name like ‘shower slime’, the product is to-say-the-least quite a conversation starter. I have heard mixed reviews on the concept of this new and crazy-unique product format BUT interestingly enough, I have yet to hear a single negative review from anyone who has actually given one or all of the shower slimes a go.

Unless you’ve been living under a rock over the last few years, you’ll know that the world has gone a-tiny-bit-crazy for ‘slime’. Social media is full of slime videos and demos and almost everyone under the age of 12 has had a go at attempting to make their own slime, mostly without success.

I am unsure as to whether or not the slime-hype was the inspiration behind this new product format but whatever the answer, the shower slimes against all odds seem to have gone down a treat within the Lush Community.

I have been dreading writing this review as I want to give the Brr! Shower Slime the justice it deserves. Brr! is the very first shower slime that I tried and also happens to be the first that I am attempting to review.

The Brr! Shower Slime is the most eye-catching of all of the shower slimes released so far, this is due to its fluorescent yellow colour. Before I had, had a chance to see its ingredients list I assumed because of its colour, that it was the shower-slime-equivalent of the citrus-rich Ectoplasm shower cream, I was as per normal, wrong. The only thing that both Ectoplasm and Brr! have in common with each other is their colour.

When I first heard that Lush were bringing out a shower slime I was very interested in it, I was however on the fence about whether it was something we actually needed. When you ask for the definition of slime on Google it says ‘an unpleasantly thick and slippery liquid substance‘. I have heard so many people ask in horror, ‘why would you want to wash yourself with SLIME?!!’ all I can say is read on to find out…

Shower slime IS very slime-like BUT it’s not that much different to a shower gel. In fact, you pretty much use it just as you would a shower gel. A small amount goes a very long way making it very good value for money.

I’ve noticed that the Lush shower slimes have quite a lot of cornflour in them which is what gives them that slightly thicker, milky-dough-like-consistency. With just a bit of water the thickness of the slime soon lathers up into something that resembles shower gel so before you ask, no Lush shower slimes will definitely not clog up your drains!

The horrified-by-slime-people will also be very pleased to hear that Lush shower slimes are NOT at all sticky. The shower slime is actually quite fun to play around with and when you want to use it for its body-cleansing-purposes, it lathers up just as good and as quickly as a shower gel. One thing I love about Brr! in particular is how hydrating it is on your skin.

Brr! shower slimes scent is rich with spearmint oil through and through, I originally was led to believe that it shared its fragrance with the chocolate-mint-scented Christmas Angel/Haagen bath bomb, it’s however not chocolatey like the bath bombs at all. Instead Brr!’s fragrance is purely super-sweet-spearmint, not that you’d have ever guessed that based on its very un-minty neon yellow colour!

Overall I think that the Brr! shower slime is a brilliant shower product, not only is it fun to use, it also leaves me feeling clean and refreshed all while leaving my skin perfectly hydrated and looking brighter too.

I am genuinely very excited to see what other scents Lush decide to bring out in the shower-slime-format next. After just one use of Brr! I can safely say that I am hooked on Lush shower slimes, something I never thought I’d be saying when their release was first announced. I promise that I will review the other 2 shower slimes that are currently available on here very soon. Watch this space! ☺️

Crash Shower Jelly from Lush

Back in March 2019 I first got to experience the delightful Crash Shower Jelly on the opening day of Lush’s new flagship store in Liverpool. Sadly we could only admire it on that day as it was unavailable to purchase. I know a few lucky people however managed to get a pot or 2. I was bitterly jealous of course. 😉

Before now to be able to buy a pot you had to book an in store party. I finally managed to get hold of a large pot when I visited Lush Liverpool this July, it is still an in store party exclusive but as far as I am aware, Liverpool now sell it exclusively too.

Crash shower jelly shares its scent with all of the Lush products from the ‘Celebrate’ scent family. I throw the favourite word around a lot when it comes down to Lush but when it’s a product that is Celebrate scented I need every item available and in multiples.

I’d go as far as to say that the scent of the Crash shower jelly is my signature scent, I first experienced the Celebrate scent the first time I used the Golden Wonder bath bomb and I have been in love with the fragrance ever since.

You’ll be correct in saying that Lush have previously released a shower jelly in the same scent that Crash has, its name is Snowshowers. Apart from the obvious colour difference I didn’t immediately see any other differences between the 2 shower jellies. This has annoyed some long term customers but for me, seeing as it is a scent I love so much I don’t mind a reincarnation of it.

Crash isn’t the only shower jelly to have been rebranded this year either. Rumba shower jelly is another to have a new name and look. I’m not sure why Lush have rebranded them both but as a fan of both scent families, I am not complaining!

Crash’s ingredients list includes; sweet orange, lime and cognac oils. I personally can only really smell the sweet orange and lime from the pot, once in the shower the cognac oil does however reveal itself adding a warmth to the lather that I appreciate on a colder morning.

There are so many ways to use a shower jelly, I prefer to use mine in the same way as you would a bar of soap, whole. Some people however chop their shower jellies up using a few pieces at a time. With the Crash shower jelly being slightly more fragile-a-jelly (something Snowshowers wasn’t) the chopping method is in my opinion the best way to get the most out of this particular shower jelly.

Overall I am very impressed with Crash. Yes, it is very similar to Snowshowers but as I mentioned earlier slightly more fragile, not a great characteristic but not bad enough to put me off of it completely, one pot has seen me through 14 showers so far and there’s still plenty left.

It is also a lot more hydrating on my skin than Snowshowers is. It lathers easier and the colour is just as bright as the likes of the Ectoplasm shower cream. I think it’s a wonderful addition to Lush’s shower jelly family and I am looking forward to further Celebrate scented product releases. 🤞 Lush if you’re reading this I really need a new Celebrate perfume to be released very soon, please and thank you! 😉

I’m Forever Blowing Bubbles Reusable Bubble Bar from Lush

I'm Forever Blowing Bubbles Reusable Bubble Bar The I’m Forever Blowing Bubbles Reusable Bubble Bar is the craziest bubble bar that Lush have created thus far, which is rather an absurd claim that I am about to explain. As well as working like an ordinary reusable bubble bar, I’m Forever Blowing Bubbles can also be used to blow bubbles too. (Just in case its name didn’t give that fun-fact away.)

Designed in the shape of the bubble wand that you find in the kids bubble bottles, using it is like revisiting your childhood but so much better because its so much bigger!

I’m Forever Blowing Bubbles comes in just the one colour, a bright green. I’d love to see more ‘bubble blowing wands’ coming out in alternative colours and scents. That last statement from myself lets on very early into this review that I’m really impressed with I’m Forever Blowing Bubbles, sorry to kill the suspense… 😉

I’m Forever Blowing Bubbles started its life as a Lush Labs product, it however proved so popular that it is now available in both stores and online. Containing Sicilian lemon, lime and grapefruit oil the green water and fluffy white bubbles created by I’m Forever Blowing Bubbles is a zingy, super refreshing experience.

It doesn’t share its scent with another Lush product but after using it I feel the same as I do after a long soak in a Brightside bubble bath; Ready to take on the world.

I’m Forever Blowing Bubbles isn’t just for kids BUT it is hugely popular with them. It’s an excellent way to get reluctant kids and adults into a bath tub. My husband does a very strenuous job and I am always telling him to have a bath to help with his back, now that I’m Forever Blowing Bubbles is a permanent fixture in Lush he’s been more than happy to swap the shower for a bath once a week. We’re all big kids at heart!

The above photo is of my husband trying out I’m Forever Blowing Bubbles for the first time. To use as a bubble blowing wand, simply dip it in and out of your bath water then blow through the hole. The last couple of Lush reusable bubble bars that I have reviewed have really upped their game when it comes down to colour vibrancy, I’m Forever Blowing Bubbles included. The water it creates is a beautiful shade of green, shaming the likes of the Santasaurus reusable bubble bars’ icky, pond-water-green finale by miles.

I’m Forever Blowing Bubbles immediately starts to tint your water as soon as it is placed under the running tap, fluffy white bubbles then follow suit. A little goes a long way with I’m Forever Blowing Bubbles, I’ve used it 4 times so far and it’s still going strong, the colour has lightened somewhat in-between uses, rather than excessive use, I think it’s because where I leave my products to dry in-between uses has been a lot sunnier than normal due to our (now much missed) heatwave of Summer 2018.

the Sicilian lemon, lime and grapefruit oil are apparent through out the whole of your bath, the bubbles do start to melt away but after a good 20 minutes soak there were still plenty of them which is another surprise as most other reusable bubble bars have no bubble-staying-power at all.

I didn’t find I’m Forever Blowing Bubbles’ water to be quite as hydrating as I would like in a bubble bath, it did however revive and brighten my skin which is just what is needed now the weather is turning colder.

Overall I am very, very impressed with the I’m Forever Blowing Bubbles reusable bubble bar. It’s such a clever design and idea. It brings a little excitement and fun back into bathing, it’s one of Lush’s best inventions yet. Although it’s not a part of Lush’s Winter 2018 line it will be available for the foreseeable future so is the perfect Christmas gift for someone you want to give something a little different to.
