Sleepy Timmy Bubble Bar from Lush

The Shaun the Sheep X Lush collaboration is finally out! In partnership with Aardman, Lush have created six fresh, fully vegan products – each of them a tribute to Shaun the Sheep and the charming characters from his world.

Today I am reviewing the Sleepy Timmy Bubble Bar, I was lucky enough to receive one in a PR box from Lush.

The Sleepy Timmy bubble bar is based on the main character (Shaun’s) younger cousin, Timmy. Like the Shaun The Sheep bath bomb from the same collection, the Sleepy Timmy bubble bar is made into the characters face, unlike Shaun, Timmy doesn’t have a fluffy white top but does have two similar large cartoonish eyes.

The Sleepy Timmy bubble bar is all black apart from the whites of his eyes. In ways, it reminds me of the Bewitched bubble bar – that bubble bar was also all black apart from its yellow eyes.

Weighing in at approximately 100g, Sleepy Timmy is one of Lush’s smaller bubble bars. Given its size, I decided to use the entire bar for a single bath. Normally, I stretch my bubble bars across multiple baths, but this time, I opted to indulge in the full Sleepy Timmy experience all at once.

Ingredients wise, the Sleepy Timmy bubble bar contains some of the following ingredients: lavender oil, chamomile oil, lavender absolute and neroli oil.

The Sleepy Timmy bubble bar scent is a part of Lush’s Deep Sleep scent-family. Other products that have recently come out in the same scent include the Sleepy Bear shower gel and Deep Sleep bath bomb.

Sleepy Timmy is packed with some of the world’s most relaxing ingredients, boasting a lavender-rich scent with soothing notes of chamomile.

While my nose struggles to pick up on the neroli that is in Sleepy Timmy, its calming effects are undeniably there, I was left feeling content and blissfully relaxed – just what neroli used in cosmetics is known for.

To use the non-reusable bubble bars like Sleepy Timmy, I break them up then stick the bubble bar pieces into a sieve and let the running-tap spill over it (see above photo).

This method is the best way to ensure none of the bubble bar gets accidentally wasted and through trial and error, I have worked out that it is the best way to get the most out of your bubble bar, bubble wise.

A blanket of fluffy white bubbles starts to grow as soon as you place the broken-up pieces of the Sleepy Timmy bubble bar under the running tap.

Underneath the bubbles the water turns jet black. I noticed as the bubbles built up that the larger bubbles had an almost rainbow tinted sheen to them, it was hard to capture in a photo, the above photos is the best I managed.

Having a good soak in a Sleepy Timmy bath left my skin feeling silky smooth and looking fresh as a daisy. The scent lasted throughout the whole bath and left me feeling a little sleepy, maybe I should have used it before bed instead of first thing in the morning…

Overall, I really enjoyed using the Sleepy Timmy bubble bar, it’s a great addition to the Shaun The Sheep X Lush line!

Shaun The Sheep Bath Bomb from Lush

The Shaun the Sheep X Lush collaboration is finally out! In partnership with Aardman, Lush have created six fresh, fully vegan products – each of them a tribute to Shaun the Sheep and the charming characters from his world.

Today I am reviewing the Shaun The Sheep Bath Bomb, I was lucky enough to receive one in a PR box from Lush.

The Shaun the Sheep bath bomb is based on the main character and star of the show. The bath bomb is Shaun’s face, he has a playful chewing expression, a fluffy white top (his wool) and two large cartoonish eyes.

As with all Lush products, the Shaun the Sheep bath bomb is completely handmade, even the finer details of Shaun’s face and eyes are sprayed on by hand!

Each of the Shaun the Sheep bath bombs are approximately 135g, fitting snuggly in my hand.

I have yet to review any items that share their scent with the Shaun the Sheep bath bomb so cannot link any here BUT the scent-family it is a part of is Lush’s Summer Blues.

The Shaun the Sheep bath bomb contains some of the following ingredients: Rose absolute, orange flower absolute, lemongrass oil, jasmine absolute, coconut milk powder and olive oil.

The Summer Blue’s scent is a stunning blend of both floral and citrus notes, the sweet orange flower and zesty lemongrass bring a refreshing and uplifting energy while the rose absolute and jasmine adds a softness.

It’s both a soothing and brightening fragrance that perfectly captures the Summer season.

With the Shaun the Sheep bath bomb being just black and white on the outside I was expecting similar bath art to the Humbug bath bomb, I was however very wrong…

As soon as the Shaun the Sheep bath bomb touches your bath water there is an explosion of white foam. It doesn’t take very long for black and grey foam to fizzle out of it too.

After about sixty seconds, the black foam stops, and suddenly grass-green foam starts to spill out of the Shaun the Sheep bath bomb instead (not what I was expecting at all!)

The bath art from the Shaun the Sheep bath bomb is incredible, it only took three minutes to fully dissolve but in that short space of time, the prettiest of white and green swirls decorated the surface of my bath water.

My photos in this review do the Shaun the Sheep bath bomb no justice at all. Underneath the pretty white and green swirls, the bath water turns an inviting shade of kiwi green.

The green water left behind feels unbelievably soft. After a good soak, my skin appears brighter and smoother, I’d go as far as to say that it has a healthy glow that lasts long after I’ve got out of the bath.

After using Shaun the Sheep, though the scent is subtle, it lingers beautifully on my skin for most of the day.

Overall, I loved the Shaun the Sheep bath bomb. The bath art was incredible, and I hope Lush decide to bring more products out in its scent soon. I can’t wait to try the rest of the Shaun the Sheep X Lush range now!

Elphaba’s Hat Bath Bomb from Lush

When Lush announced their collaboration with the highly anticipated film Wicked, I found myself just as excited for the limited edition Oz-inspired Lush line as I was for the release of the movie.

One of the standout products from the Wicked X Lush line is the Elphaba’s Hat Bath Bomb. I was lucky enough to be gifted one by Lush and couldn’t wait to get it into the water!

The Elphaba’s Hat Bath Bomb is a black bath bomb crafted in the classic shape of a witch’s hat.

While it’s not quite as intricate a design as the, The Wizard bath bomb from the same line it is very detailed; it has a wide brim, is very pointed and is a little bent in places. It almost looks like a well-worn patchwork hat.

Each of the Elphaba’s Hat bath bombs are approximately 170g which surprised me as in my hand it feels a lot heavier. This could however be an illusion caused by its unique, clunky shape.

Some of the ingredients included in the Elphaba’s Hat bath bomb are dark Sumatran patchouli oil, black pepper oil and vanilla absolute.

If you have been a Lush customer for quite some time, you’ll more than likely recognise the scent of the Elphaba’s Hat bath bomb as it is the same as the Lord of Misrule bath bomb.

Elphaba’s Hat bath bombs scent is as mystical as it is bewitching, it’s rich, peppery yet sweet with subtle spicey notes. I’m always honest in my reviews and its scent isn’t my favourite Lush-scent-family, I’ve never been a huge fan of patchouli as an ingredient BUT I can’t help but mention that I couldn’t think of a more appropriate scent-family for this particular bath bomb!

As soon as the Elphaba’s Hat bath bomb touches the water there is an explosion of black. Shortly after the bath bomb comes in to contact with the water you see a small amount of thin green and purple foam begin to spill out of it too.

I didn’t realise until the colours started to show a little more that the Elphaba’s Hat bath bomb was also laced with a generous helping of golden shimmer.

With the bath bomb being practically jet-black I wasn’t expecting very much bath art to come out of it, but golden shimmery infused greens and purples kept spinning out of it.

I can only apologise for not getting better photos of the patterns that fizzed out of the Elphaba’s Hat bath bomb, although the green and purple bath art was there it was subtle/very pale so hard to capture on camera.

The Elphaba’s Hat bath bomb took just over twelve minutes to fully dissolve. It left behind soft, jet-black water with a huge amount of sparkly gold shimmer in.

This isn’t the first only black bath product Lush have released. The first black bath bomb in my memory was the Secret Arts jelly bomb. I will admit, before using that for the first time I was terrified at the prospect of a very dirty bath after use, but it was a very easy clean.

I’d love to say that clean-up for the Elphaba’s Hat bath bomb was the same, but it wasn’t. It was nothing a sponge, squirt of hot water and dish washing soap couldn’t solve though!

The scent of this bath bomb remained in my bathroom right through to the next day, if I hadn’t had a shower, I am sure the scent would have lingered for even longer.

Overall, I really enjoyed using the Elphaba’s Hat bath bomb, clean up wasn’t as easy as I’d have liked but sometimes making a mess is a huge part of the fun!
