Wild Violet Co-Mingle Body Scrub from Lush

The first Co-Mingle body scrub was released back in 2022. Lush have since released several more; Sticky Dates Co-Mingle, Tropical Co-Mingle and now the subject of this review, the Wild Violet Co-Mingle Body Scrub!

The Wild Violet Co-Mingle body scrub is a brand-new, limited-edition product from Lush’s 2024 Mother’s Day line. I was lucky enough to get to try it before its initial release as Lush gifted me a pot, it’s set to be available in all UK stores from the 1st of February.

The Wild Violet Co-Mingle body scrub is described by Lush as ‘wild and beautiful, sweet and soft.’ Using it buffs, cleanses, and moisturises your skin all at the same time.

After the success of both the original Co-Mingle and Sticky Dates Co-Mingle, I was eager to give the Wild Violet Co-Mingle body scrub a go.

With the Wild Violet Co-Mingle body scrub being a three-in-one product it has a lot of ingredients in it; the scrubby element of it comes from the tagua nut powder.

Alongside the tagua nut powder, the Wild Violet Co-Mingle also contains sweet violet leaf infusion, spring water, almond oil, Brazil nut oil, ground white rice, ylang ylang flower infusion, fair trade shea butter, argan oil, cupuacu butter and rosewood oil.

The Wild Violet Co-Mingle body scrub shares its scent with the Ultraviolet bubble bar which happens to be one of my favourites.

The best way I can describe its scent is as a really intense violet, I can’t often tell the difference between Lush’s violet-based scent families but this one is a very natural floral, it smells very green and always leaves me feeling fresher.

Consistency-wise, the Wild Violet Co-Mingle body scrub is probably the loosest of the Co-Mingles that Lush have created so far. I’d describe it as being like a very milky porridge.

A very small amount of the Wild Violet Co-Mingle body scrub goes a long way BUT it smells so good that I always end up taking an extra scoop out just because I can!

To use, all you need is about 3 fingers worth and that easily does your whole body. I wouldn’t say that the Wild Violet Co-Mingle was a very harsh body scrub, if anything it is more of a skin buffer than exfoliator. It almost thickens into something creamier as you lather it in.

The formula is super nourishing for your skin. Even though it’s a very gentle body scrub, it does buff away dirt and dead skin well leaving skin that appears brighter behind.

It really is a three-in-one product too, it scrubs (albeit very gently) washes and moisturises your skin perfectly, there’s no need for a shower gel or body lotion after using it.

Overall, I love the Wild Violet Co-Mingle body scrub, I do prefer something a bit scrubbier when I’m in need of a good exfoliation but this one I am more than happy to use as a gentle in-between.

Tropical Co-Mingle Body Scrub from Lush

The first Co-Mingle body scrub was released back in 2022. After its success, Lush decided to release another version of a Co-Mingle body scrub, the Sticky Dates Co-Mingle body scrub. Today I will be reviewing the third Co-Mingle body scrub to be released by Lush, the Tropical Co-Mingle Body Scrub.

At the time of writing this review the Tropical Co-Mingle body scrub has only been available in November 2023’s Lush Kitchen subscription box.

Out of the 5 items in November 2023’s Lush Kitchen subscription box, customers will be able to vote for which ones they want to become mainline products. I have my fingers crossed that one of them is the Tropical Co-Mingle body scrub as it’s my favourite of the Co-mingles so far, more customers need the chance to try it. I’d also be very pleased to get hold of a bigger pot if it does become a main line product!

The Tropical Co-Mingle body scrub is described by Lush as a ‘tropical scented three-in-one.’ It exfoliates, cleanses, and moisturises your skin all at the same time. After the success of both the original Co-Mingle and Sticky Dates Co-Mingle, I was eager to give the Tropical Co-Mingle body scrub a go.

The Tropical Co-Mingle body scrub shares its scent with the Cyclops bubble bar and SpongeBob bath bomb. The best way I can describe its scent is as a rich passion fruit like fragrance.

I have seen several customers say that with it being so fruity, it may be more appropriate as a Summer product. I am however happy to use it all year round but do understand what they mean.

With the Tropical Co-Mingle body scrub being a three-in-one product it has a lot of ingredients in it; the scrubby element of it comes from the tagua nut powder. Alongside that, the Tropical Co-Mingle also contains a super-moisturising amount of fairtrade cocoa and shea butter as well as cypress leaf infusion, almond oil, Brazil nut oil, buriti oil, buchu oil, litsea cubeba oil, sweet wild orange oil and fresh pineapple juice.

Consistency-wise, the Tropical Co-Mingle body scrub is a little different from the other Co-Mingles; It is not as sloppy and has more of a dried-butter-icing feel to it (see above photo).

A very small amount of the Tropical Co-Mingle body scrub goes a long way, but I am gutted that the Lush Kitchen only gave us a 100g pot of it in the Lush Kitchen subscription box. I really do need more so have my fingers crossed it comes back as a permanent product soon.

To use, I scoop out about 3 fingers worth and that easily does my whole body, twice over. Unlike the original two Co-Mingles I find Tropical Co-Mingle incredibly scrubby, I think this is the main reason why I like it the most out of the 3 Lush have created thus far.

When I first got some out of the pot, I thought it felt really creamy and wasn’t expecting much scrub wise HOWEVER, the longer I rubbed it into my skin the scrubbier it seemed to get. The tagua nut powder is incredibly fine but does a perfect job of buffing away any dead skin without making your skin sore. It also washes and hydrates your skin at the same time so there’s no need for a shower gel or body lotion after using it. My skin feels smooth and looks brighter after use.

I adore all of the Co-Mingles created by Lush but I have fallen head over heels in love with the Tropical Co-Mingle body scrub, it’s my favourite of the 3 and I hate to repeat myself again but it really will be a crime if Lush don’t make this body scrub a mainline product as soon as possible!

Sticky Dates Co-Mingle Body Scrub from Lush

Exactly a year after the Co-Mingle body scrub first came out Lush released another just like it, the Sticky Dates Co-Mingle Body Scrub. The Sticky Dates Co-Mingle is a part of Lush’s small but impressive, limited-edition 2023 Eid line. You’ll recognise its scent from last years’ Eid-line-product turned all-year-round item, the Sticky Dates shower gel.

Sticky Dates Co-Mingle is sold in pots of 225g and is described by Lush as a ‘wash, exfoliant and moisturiser all in one.’ After the success of both the original Co-Mingle and Sticky Dates shower gel I couldn’t wait to give it a go.

The Sticky Dates Co-Mingle body scrub is brown, just like the shower gel of the same name. Consistency-wise it’s a little less fluffy than the original Co-Mingle, at the risk of putting people off, I’d describe it as a very watery, chocolate porridge. I admit that on a sensory level, I was wary with its formula at first. It’s not the most pleasant to look at or to get out of the pot BUT once you get to using it how it is intended to be used, all is fine, I promise.

As I said earlier, the Sticky Dates Co-Mingles scent is the same as the Sticky Dates shower gel. Its scent is truly delicious, it smells just like a hot and gooey, sticky toffee pudding with a generous scoop or 2 of vanilla ice cream. Yummy.

One of the things I really love about Lush is the thought that goes into each individual lush product. Lush never just throw random ingredients together. During Eid, dates are quite often the first food to be eaten when breaking fast. Hence the Sticky Dates Co-Mingle body scrub being a part of the Eid line.

Sticky Dates Co-Mingle contains a long list of ingredients, some of those included are, vanilla pod infusion, organic date syrup, orange juice, ground date-stones and almond shells as well as almond, argan and sandalwood oils. The ground date-stones and almond shells are the secret scrubby ingredients that makes the Sticky Dates Co-Mingle such a good exfoliator.

A very small amount of the Sticky Dates Co-Mingle body scrub goes a long way, like the original Co-Mingle I however always overindulge when using it. I scoop out about 3 fingers worth and that easily does my whole body, twice over. Unlike the original Co-Mingle, the Sticky Dates Co-Mingle starts to exfoliate immediately, it lathers up effortlessly and its delicious scent fills your bathroom as it scrubs, washes, and hydrates your skin all in one.

The Sticky Dates Co-Mingle body scrub is just as good as the original Co-Mingle if not better. After using it my skin feels so much softer, appears brighter and is so incredibly hydrated. There really is no need to moisturise after using it. Although, I wouldn’t say no to Lush creating a Sticky Dates body lotion… The Sticky Dates Co-Mingle body scrub also cleans just as good as any shower gel or body wash.

I adore both the Sticky Dates Lush-scent-family and the whole idea behind Co-Mingle body scrubs, I can’t wait to see what Lush create next!
