Flutterby Bubble Bar from Lush

flutterby-taggedThe Flutterby Bubble Bar was a Mother’s Day, Oxford Street exclusive back in 2016. I will apologise now for the lateness of this review, I honestly thought I had reviewed it, I tried to link it to another review a couple of weeks ago and that’s when I realised that I hadn’t actually done it, whoops!

Flutterby is a hot pink and white bubble bar decorated with a butterfly on its top. Colour wise it could easily be confused for the, The Comforter bubble bar. Lush products are always sorted into scent families and the Flutterby bubble bar is a part of the Yummy, Yummy, Yummy family.

The Yummy, Yummy, Yummy scent features in a variety of some of the most popular Lush products. The Roller bath bomb, Yummy Mummy shower cream and Peeping Santa bubbleroon to name a few.

What first impressed me about the Flutterby bubble bar was its size. I had no idea that it would be so big and bulky. It certainly wouldn’t be lost if placed alongside the extra large bubble bars such as Brightside.

I was and still am also very impressed with its scent. Back when I first got it I couldn’t get enough of its creamy, sweet and strawberry-esque fragrance. As a rule, I always try to use Lush products as fresh as possible as the fresher a product is, the better it performs.

I really, really liked the Flutterby bubble bar and I stocked up on it before Mother’s day 2016 was over. I haven’t seen anything official that says it is coming back this year which I am really disappointed about, luckily I still have a few left and even over a year later they all still smell and work as if they were brand new. WINNING!

Crumbling Flutterby under a running tap produces mounds and mounds of soft and fluffy white bubbles, underneath those bubbles Flutterby also turns your bath water the most gorgeous shade of pink. As soon as you get in the bath your skin begins to soak up all of the benefits this bubble bar offers.

Jam packed with tonka, geranium and Brazilian orange oil Flutterby comforts, softens and tones your skin while also soothing tired or aching muscles. You can easily get 4 or 5 generously bubbled baths out of just the one Flutterby bubble bar.

This bubble bar has a very versatile scent making it perfect for bath cocktails, it works especially well with the citrus and floral products. I hope Flutterby comes out in the Lush Kitchen this year as it’s such a beautiful product that I would really like to stock up on once again.

Yuzu and Cocoa Bubbleroon from Lush

Yuzu and Cocoa Bubbleroon.png

The Yuzu and Cocoa Bubbleroon is definitely my favourite out of all the macaroon inspired bubble bars. To me, it smells just like Jaffa Cakes. My first experience with the scent was with the Yuzu and Cocoa shower cream, I’d looked at the bubbleroon equivalent in store but always decided to get one of the bigger bubble bars such as Brightside instead.

Once I had however tried the shower cream I was hooked. I think it was at this point of my Lush journey where I realised that Lush Cosmetics do so much more than hoping for the best while mixing random essential oils together. They in fact master scents. Once a scent is mastered over a very long period of time (sometimes years) they create an abundance of products that share that mastered scent.

I had fallen head over heels in love with the Yuzu and Cocoa shower cream and I needed more of its kind. The Yuzu and Cocoa bubbleroon that I had always disregarded for bigger alternatives suddenly become my most wanted item, I couldn’t get to my local Lush quick enough! Luckily for me, both the shower cream and the bubbleroon are now staple store product so I will never run out of either.

yuzu-cocoa-plusAll of the bubbleroons had a huge makeover in 2015, I haven’t got a photograph of the old versions to show you for comparison purposes, you’ll just have to take my word for it. The makeover was a massive improvement. The photo above is how they currently are now.

You can get 3 maybe 4 baths out of one bubbleroon. I like to however spread mine over 2 baths just because I love everything about the product so much. The scent, the way it makes my skin feel, it’s so beautiful.

The smallest amount of Yuzu and Cocoa bubbleroon creates a very generous amount of fluffy white, silky soft bubbles. Its citrus scent combined with its, cocoa-butter-chocolatey undertone makes it the perfect mood lifter. I seem to reach for the Yuzu and Cocoa bubbleroon when I am on a diet too. Using it takes the edge off of my cravings for chocolate and cake.  It’s obviously not the same as eating a nice slab of chocolate cake but, it helps the cravings a little.

The Yuzu and Cocoa scent is amazing, laying in a bubble bath full of this bubbleroon is like floating around in a sea of Jaffa Cakes. It really is my idea of heaven. The only thing that could improve it is if I was presented with a box of Jaffa Cakes every time I crumbled a bit of Yuzu and Cocoa in the bath.

Another great thing about this bubbleroon is how good it is for your skin. All of the cocoa and shea butter in it helps hydrate my skin effortlessly. You can literally feel your skin drinking up all of the gorgeous butters. A soak in a Yuzu and Cocoa bath moisturises your skin so well that there is no need to moisturise once you get out of the bath.

I hope that Lush soon come up with more products in the Yuzu and Cocoa scent. I’d love a dusting powder or a body conditioner, both of those would be staple products in my bathroom without a doubt.

Bunch of Carrots Reusable Bubble Bar from Lush

Bunch of Carrots Reusable Bubble Bar.png

When it comes down to Lush’s reusable bubble bars I am more than willing to admit that I either love them or hate them. For me there is no inbetween. This is because I find that some of the reusable ones just aren’t as colourful and vibrant in the water as the ordinary ones are.

A good example of a reusable bubble bar that wasn’t as good as I’d envisioned colour-wise was last years (2016) Santasaurus. Don’t get me wrong, it was perfectly fragranced and left my skin soft, it is just the colour it transformed the bath water into that let it down, it was a very murky green and it didn’t make me feel very Christmassy.

There are however a few reusable bubble bars that do match up to the ordinary bubble bars standards so I always give each one a go at least once. What had me intrigued about the Bunch of Carrots Reusable Bubble Bar was the fact that there are 3 colours to try in just the one product purchase, orange, purple and pink…

The Bunch of Carrots reusable bubble bar shares its scent with the Snowman shower jelly, I would however like to point out that its scent is not at all one I would associate with Christmas. It is in fact quite the opposite, it includes a mixture of lemon and bergamot oil and actually reminds me more of the Spring time. I guess this is why Bunch of Carrots has been released as an Easter product over the last few years.

Its scent is cheery and refreshing. I would love to try more products with its scent, I really do like it and an added bonus to it is that it reminds me of my nan and grandad’s house when I was little, not only does it smell beautiful and refreshing it also brings to light many happy memories for me too.

Surprisingly each carrot lasted for 2 baths each. The colour they turned the water were also all very vibrant, there wasn’t as many bubbles as I’d normally get though. The scent however stays throughout the whole of your bath and the lemon and bergamot in it really helps give you a boost. I can’t wait to try this years batch (2017). I will update this post if there’s any difference, (larger amount of bubbles ect) also the photos in this post need updating… I’ll get on it as soon as Lush Easter arrives! 😉
