I am an everyday user of Lush lip scrubs because I have an awful habit of biting my lips, especially in my sleep. I choose Lush lip scrubs over all others not only because of Lush’s ethical buying policies but because they give instant results and with minimum effort.
The 25g jars of Lush lip scrubs can easily slip into your handbag with all of your other daily essentials. They are the quickest and easiest way to exfoliate dry or chapped lips whenever and wherever.
The Kiss Lip Scrub is a part of 2017’s Lush Valentine’s line, my first experience with it was Valentine’s 2016. Scent wise, I think The Kiss is probably my favourite of the Lush lip scrubs, it has a wonderfully sweet sherbet scent and it tastes really good too. Although Lush lip scrubs aren’t made to be eaten, it won’t hurt if you end up accidentally swallowing a bit.
What sets the, The Kiss lip scrub apart from the rest is the inclusion of red edible hearts. Although from an exfoliation perspective they are purely decorational, I think they add a pinch of fun to the lip scrub. This product not only exfoliates and softens your lips but looks cute and fun too.
Colour wise it’s very similar to Lush’s Bubblegum lip scrub. Bubblegum is immensely popular, I however prefer The Kiss because it’s a much softer formula. Although it contains near on the same ingredients, I just find The Kiss to be slightly more gentle which is better for me considering I like to use a lip scrub daily.
The only negative thing about it is that (from a shelf-life perspective) it doesn’t seem to last as long as the other Lush lip scrubs. 5 or 6 months after being made, the scent and taste begin to fade very noticeably. This doesn’t match up with the use by date marked up on the pot, that says it should be good for over 12 months. Other lip scrubs from Lush are good for a couple of years after their best-by-dates so the fact it spoils so quickly is quite a big negative. Overall I however really do like this product, maybe a slight tweak of the formula may help it stay at its best for a longer period!?!
