Ultraviolet Bubble Bar from Lush

ultra violet bubble barBack in 2015 I completely missed the opportunity to buy and try Lush’s newest bubble bar creation, Ultraviolet. After waiting with crossed fingers for a year I was of course ecstatic when I found out that they were temporarily bringing it back as part of their 2016 Spring line.

Like the Brightside bubble bar the Ultraviolet has size on its side. I always favour the larger bubble bars as I like a product that can be shared out to use over several different baths. The cost effective bit of my brain ding, ding, dings with happiness.

You can easily get 5 or 6 generously bubbled baths out of just one Ultraviolet bubble bar. I like to break mine up into several different pieces, I then grab a tea bag strainer, put one of the pieces in it and run it under the bath tap. I also recommend putting the plug in before doing this, the amount of bubble bars I have wasted because my boyfriend forgot to put the plug in is actually hilarious. 😉

As soon as the tap water comes into contact with the Ultraviolet bubble bar, mounds and mounds of sweet violet scented, fluffy white bubbles are created.

Not only are you getting the benefits of its beautiful scent but it also turns your bath water the most enchanting shade of purple. The purple is very close if not the same as the colour I have picked for my bridesmaids to wear at my wedding next year. I love it!

The violet leaf absolute within the Ultraviolet bubble bar pairs with its other ingredient rosewood oil beautifully. You get just the right amount of sweetness, it’s not sickly at all. The sweetness in it is then rounded off by the rosewood oil’s musky, spicy and woody scent.

The Ultraviolet bubble bar makes for a very relaxing bath. Mixed with a Blackberry bath bomb it is the only non-medicinal product I have found that stops my migraines in their tracks. Obviously it’s not the cure and I continue to get migraines, I just find that they are easier to manage after using the above mentioned Lush products.

I came across the magic cocktail by complete accident. Now whenever a migraine is threatening to squat in my head I take the migraine tablet prescribed by my GP put a cold wet flannel on my head and then lay back in a relaxing Ultraviolet and Blackberry bath, the heat from the bath water, at the bottom of my neck helps a lot too.

My only negative on the Ultraviolet bubble bar is that it didn’t hang around for very long.

After the Mother’s Day and Easter stock finished for 2016 it disappeared with them. I really, really hope that they bring it out again next year or even in the Lush Kitchen. I am running out of my stash already!

Has anyone else used Lush’s Ultraviolet bubble bar? what did you think of it?
