One Long Soak Bath Bomb from Lush

The One Long Soak Bath Bomb is a brand-new, limited-edition product from Lush’s 2024 Mother’s Day line.

The first thing I noticed about it when I see it online was how many colours it had, move over The Experimenter bath bomb, there’s a new rainbow-bath-bomb in town and I believe it is after your crown…

Once the One Long Soak bath bomb arrived, I audibly gasped at its size. IT’S HUGE!

The One Long Soak bath bomb is designed to look just like an old school fairground ticket. It is bright blue, with the pink words ‘one long soak’ chiselled into it.

The bath bomb also has punch holes in it just like an actual fairground ticket does and some are coloured pink, green, yellow and I can also see orange and purple too.

I know you shouldn’t judge a book by its cover, but I knew as soon as I see this bath bomb that it was going to be incredible during use.

You can see from the photo above just how big the One Long Soak bath bomb is in comparison to my hand.

The One Long Soak bath bomb contains the following essential oils: lemon myrtle, ylang ylang and grapefruit.

One Long Soak shares its scent with the Mermaid bath bombSnow Dragon bath bomb and Mermaid Tail bubble bar products, (just to name a few!)

The One Long Soak bath bomb’s scent is best described as refreshing and zingy. It’s sharp, citrusy, and packed full of energy.

If you’re feeling groggy from the Winter months a bath with the One Long Soak bath bomb will do more than put a spring in your step.

As soon as the One Long Soak bath bomb touches the water you are greeted with an explosion of blue foam.

Slowly, the blue foam thins out and pinks, yellows, oranges, greens, and purples begin to spill out of the One Long Soak bath bomb too.

The scent of the bath bomb really comes to life once placed into the water, it’s so crisp and sharp, it’s one incredibly refreshing bath bomb.

The bath art never seems to end, all of the colours of the rainbow stream out of the One Long Soak bath bomb right up until the end, creating rainbow swirls and a kaleidoscope of colourful bubbles too.

With the One Long Soak bath bomb being so big, it took just over 15 minutes to fully dissolve, I think it may have gone on for a little longer had I not decided to crush it to hurry the bath along.

What with all of the colours coming out of the One Long Soak bath bomb, I was expecting the bath water to be brown or grey, however, it was a khaki green!

The One Long Soak bath water not only smells delicious but also leaves your skin feeling refreshed and hydrated. You can visibly see that your skin appears brighter.

My skin still feels silky smooth several hours after getting out of the bath and the scent although subtle remains on my skin too.

Overall, I am so in love with the One Long Soak bath bomb and can see it working well as an all-year-round product not just for Mother’s Day. I’m very, very impressed!

Saltbomb Bath Bomb from Lush

If you’ve seen the much-talked-about film Saltburn you’ll know exactly what this bath bomb is all about, I won’t give away any spoilers from the movie in this review but just know that every Lushie who has watched the toe-curlingly-cringe-worthy bath scene in it, knew it wouldn’t be long until Lush made a bath bomb inspired by it…

Enter the Saltbomb Bath Bomb. Saltbomb was released at the very start of February 2024 and is the standard sized Lush bath bomb weighing in at 190g.

Normally at this point of a review I’d describe the bath bombs colour and design but seeing as the Saltbomb bath bomb is plain-white all over, there’s not much more to describe visually. The closest bath bomb I can compare it to looks-wise, is the original So White bath bomb.

The Saltbomb bath bomb contains coarse sea salt, coconut milk powder and the following essential oils, Brazilian orange, and patchouli. It shares its scent with the main-line Lush products, Milky Bath bubble bar and Toby’s Magic Cow bath bomb.

Trying to review this bath bomb when I know what scene in a dark-comedy-movie inspired it, is a little difficult. I have never been more uncomfortable writing a review, it’s a real elephant in the room kind of situation but I am keeping in mind that it’s just a bit of fun and just a bath bomb. 😉

The Saltbomb bath bombs scent is a musky and gentle fragrance, it’s a good choice to go for if you like the subtle, less in-your-face Lush scents.

On Lush’s website the tag line for the Saltbomb bath bomb is ‘come and relax, or vice versa…’ it then goes on to say ‘Lap it up, Saltbomb’s salty, milky bath water is fit for a stately splurge. This salt doesn’t burn.’ Followed by ‘Feel like Hollywood royalty with this limited-edition bath bomb that never kills the groove, leaving the bather with silky smooth bath water they’ll want to treasure every last drop of.’ – make of that, what you want…

As soon as the Saltbomb bath bomb touches the water you are greeted with a gentle hiss of white bubbles.

A considerable amount of thick, milky foam starts to collect on the water’s surface; With thanks to the added coconut milk powder, it’s almost creamy. After just under 10 minutes the Saltbomb bath bomb has fully dissolved leaving the milkiest, silky soft waters.

I didn’t ever want to get out of the bath, the scent is as subtle as it is soothing.

Saltbomb contains a lot of salt and like the Geo Phyzz bath bomb it all drops to the bottom of the bath before it dissolves into the water. I struggle with chronic pain and sometimes only the salty bath bombs help me manage that pain so whenever a salty bath bomb comes out at Lush, I grab it.

The salt doesn’t have any effect on the scent of a bath bomb either so if you want, you can buy it separately and unscented from most chemists. If you have a packet, you can add it to all your baths, I totally recommend it if you think Saltbomb has made more of a difference for you than other bath bombs.

The heat of the water and the salt are so good at soothing aching muscles.

Overall, I can’t get enough of the Saltbomb bath bomb, it’s plain yes, but sometimes the best products are. Lush would be silly to not make this a mainline product. As for the Saltburn movie, I watched it over the Christmas/New Year break and still can’t stop thinking about it…

Clear the Air Lush Melt from Lush

Today I am reviewing the vegan, Clear the Air Lush Melt. It is a light shade of blue with icy white swirls in it.

If you’ve recently read any of my other Lush Melt reviews, you’ll notice that small snippets of text in each review may be a little repetitive. This is because the majority of visitors to this blog find it through Google searches of individual Lush products.

I always include a ‘what it is’ and ‘how to use’ paragraph in each review just in case it is someone’s first time visiting my website and/or their first time using that particular type of Lush product.

I’ll add the repeated parts in italics so that the frequent review-readers can skim past them!

The Lush Melts are a fairly new type of Lush product, Clear the Air was first released back in March 2023 and at the time of writing this review, is still available to purchase.

For me, the most exciting thing about the Lush Melts is that they can be used in the bath like a bath oil and also used as a wax melt in a wax burner. I personally prefer using them in wax burners over using them in the bath but both ways of using them are enjoyable and full of fragrance.

Each of the larger 70g Lush Melts that are currently available are a rectangle shape and have 8 separate snappable squares in each bar. Each square has a letter on it, the Clear the Air Lush Melt has LUSH spelt on the first row of squares and MELT spelt on the bottom row of squares.

Clear the Air contains the following ingredients: Fair trade organic cocoa butter, illipe butter, almond oil, eucalyptus oil, lemongrass oil, peppermint oil, rosemary oil and moringa oil.

It shares its scent with several incredibly popular Lush products – The Imperial EggSnow Drift and Snowball bath bomb just to name a few.

The scent of the Clear the Air Lush Melt is described on Lush’s website as a ‘eucalyptus and lemongrass refresher’. Just one sniff of it gives me a boost of energy.

Using the Clear the Air Lush Melt in a wax burner:

When I use Lush Melts in a wax burner, I switch between both a tea light burner and plug-in, electric burner. If you use an average sized tea light candle in a tea light burner, both burner types work well enough for me not to have a favourite kind.

The Clear the Air Lush Melts scent is a strong one. Just one cube is enough to fragrance all of our open planned rooms downstairs.

Obviously not everyone has the same type of wax burner so temperatures and melting times will vary for each individual, but I had the Clear the Air Lush Melt on for 4 evenings before I felt I needed to switch it out for another as the scent had weakened.

I found myself reaching for Clear the Air over the last year or so whenever someone in my house was feeling a bit flu like. The blend of eucalyptus oil, lemongrass oil and peppermint oil live up to the Lush Melts name and really does feel as if it clears the air.

It’s such a crisp fragrance that makes me feel less stuffy, something we can all appreciate when we have the dreaded common cold!Even without a cold I find the scent really uplifting there’s something about its coolness that puts a spring in my step.

Using the Clear the Air Lush Melt in a bath:

When I use Lush Melts in the bath, I normally start with adding just one cube, if I feel I need more I will add another, after all, it’s a lot easier to add more product than it is to take some out when you feel you’ve used too much… With Clear the Air one cube was however the perfect amount.

Again, melting times will vary depending on how hot you have your bath water. Clear the Air melted very quickly for me and turned the bath water a milky white colour.

After about a 10-minute soak in waters with one cube melted into it, it left my skin feeling cooler, refreshed and incredibly soft. I have even used a half-melted cube of Clear the Air like a shaving butter on my legs.

With the way it cools your skin down I can see myself using it a lot in the warmer Summer months too.

Overall, I am really impressed with the Clear the Air Lush Melt as both a wax melt and bath melt, I love that it is (at the time of writing this review) an all-year-round product as like I said, it helps with colds in the Winter and cooling you down in the Summer!
