Milk Bucket Shower Jelly from Lush

The Milk Bucket Shower Jelly is a brand-new, limited-edition product from Lush’s Minecraft X Lush collaboration, I was lucky enough to be sent a pot of it by Lush earlier this week.

Before this line came out, I had heard of the Minecraft computer game but had never played it.

Since, I have finally tried the game to see what all the fuss was about. I spent about an hour getting myself out of a big hole that I had fallen down and not much else…

Some people are good at computer games, I am not one of them. I’m going to stick to just using bath products for now!

In the Minecraft game a milk bucket is one of the many food items that you can make, it’s useful as a food source and can also be used to cure status effects.

It has been a while since I have reviewed a shower jelly that isn’t in a novelty, character shape. The Milk Bucket shower jelly is the standard Lush shower jelly shape; The exact same shape as its pot.

Each of the Milk Bucket shower jellies are 100g each just big enough to fit in your hand.

Just like an actual bucket of milk, the Milk Bucket shower jelly is an opaque, milk-white colour.

The Milk Bucket shower jelly contains glycerine, almond milk, carrageenan extract, coconut milk powder, Brazilian orange oil and patchouli oil.

Milk Bucket shares its scent with the main-line Lush products, Milky Bath bubble bar, Toby’s Magic Cow bath bomb and the recent limited edition release, the Saltbomb bath bomb.

The Milk Buckets scent is best described as a gentle and musky fragrance that is incredibly calming.

I ordinarily find the shower jellies that aren’t novelty shaped to be sturdier and more robust during use; They always seem to last longer, breaking up a lot slower than the character shaped shower jellies such as the Krang and Snow Fairy shower jelly.

There is no right or wrong way to use a shower jelly, I prefer to use mine in the same way as you would a bar of soap, whole.

Some people however chop their shower jellies up using a few pieces at a time, this is a good method if you’re sharing it with someone else.

Once you’ve used it simply rinse it off and then pop it back into the pot and put the lid back on.

The Milk Bucket shower jelly lathers up quickly, I find this a real positive for shower jellies as they can be a little slippery, after all they are made of jelly! I seemed to however be wrong about this shower jellies sturdiness…

It started to break up a lot quicker than I had anticipated (after just one use it was a lot flimsier) I’m having a guess that this is because of its higher than average milk content. This doesn’t mean the shower jelly doesn’t however work. It just shows wear and tear almost immediately, running out a little quicker than I’d have hoped.

Even with this in mind, I can still see it lasting me another 4 possibly 5 showers.

After using the Milk Bucket shower jelly my skin feels soft, clean, and hydrated. The scent although light remains on my skin for a good few hours after using it too.

Overall, it is a good shower jelly and I’m so happy to experience the Milky Bath Lush-scent-family in this format, it makes a change from bath bomb after bath bomb.

Intergalactic Block Bath Bomb from Lush

The Intergalactic Block Bath Bomb is a brand-new product from the Minecraft X Lush collaboration, I was lucky enough to be sent one by Lush earlier this week.

Minecraft is an open-world video game that lets players build, explore and survive in a virtual world. In it, players can use blocks to build absolutely anything they want. In the Minecraft X Lush line, Lush have created five ‘Block-bath-bombs’ and today I’m reviewing the Intergalactic Block bath bomb.

Before this line came out, I had heard of the Minecraft game but had never played it. Since, I have finally tried the game as I wanted to see what all the fuss was about… I’m not great with games but can see why so many spend hours on it. Had it have come out when I was a little younger, I could see younger me getting very into it!

The Intergalactic Block bath bomb is just a cube shaped Intergalactic bath bomb. With the Intergalactic bath bomb being a best seller it was only natural for Lush to give it a Minecraft face lift; I know some feel a little cheated with it just being a different shaped Intergalactic bath bomb but I think it’s great, we already know it sells well and while it’s not directly marketed at children, if it makes bath time easier for just one parent I’m here for it.

Each Intergalactic Block bath bomb is only 90g so fits snuggly in your hand. The normal Intergalactic bath bomb is 200g so just think of it as a smaller version of one of the best bath bombs in the world!

The Intergalactic Block bath bomb is space blue with hot pink and yellow streak like patches. The colours clash so well, it’s a beautiful design that is almost too pretty to use.

The Intergalactic Block bath bomb contains peppermint oil, grapefruit oil, vetivert oil, cedarwood oil and a small helping of popping candy.

Its scent is predominantly peppermint based; The grapefruit in it is however noticeable but I wouldn’t say it was a particularly fruity or citrusy fragrance. The grapefruit adds a layer to the peppermint scent which is sharp and something I can only really describe as, a clean smell. In ways it is almost like a very minty mouthwash with a sharp grapefruit twist.

As soon as the Intergalactic Block bath bomb touches your bath water you are greeted with an explosion of blue foam; Smaller bits of yellow and pink begin to foam out of it too.

It doesn’t take long for the bath bomb to be completely taken over by the water, it charges around the bath sending yellow, pink and mostly blue bubbles across the water’s surface.

Comparing the Intergalactic Block bath bomb with the normal Intergalactic bath bomb it doesn’t create as much bath art, but you still get the same three beautiful colours from it. After about three minutes the popping candy within the Intergalactic Block bath bomb starts to put on a show too, popping and crackling away.

I’d say that the water left behind by the Intergalactic Block bath bomb is a little greener than I remember the ordinary Intergalactic bath bomb end-water to be.

After just under ten minutes, the bath bomb has fully dissolved leaving you with cooling, silky soft, green-blue bath water that is decorated throughout with golden lustre. Inspired by the Milky Way, I like nothing more than to sit back and soak in the refreshing and relaxing Intergalactic scent.

Once out of the bath, my skin felt smooth and hydrated. Scent wise, I can still smell it on me several hours after getting out of the bath. My bathroom also has the scent of the bath bomb in the air long after the last drop of bath water has gone down the plug hole.

As I said earlier, I know some people feel as if Lush should have left this bath bomb out of the Minecraft X Lush line focusing on new bath bomb blocks that aren’t related to an already existing and readily bath bomb, but I quite enjoyed revisiting it in a different shape, it’s certainly got me excited to try the other Minecraft X Lush products!

Minions Bath Bomb from Lush

The Minions Bath Bomb is a brand-new product from a small but mighty Lush line created alongside the release of the Despicable Me 4 movie.

I love the Despicable Me world, especially all things minion so couldn’t wait to get my hands on the Lush X Despicable Me 4 line.

If you haven’t had the pleasure of seeing any of the Despicable Me films, you’re probably wondering what a minion is… Minions are small, yellow, pill-shaped creatures that live to serve the main character in the Despicable Me films, Gru the supervillain.

The Minions bath bomb is, as all minions are, a bright yellow with blue overalls on. Some minions have two eyes, some just one. The one eyed minion is what the Minions bath bomb is based on.

If you’ve been a Lush customer for a while you’ll find its single candy eye familiar as it’s a very similar design to the Monsters’ Ball bath bomb.

Each Minions bath bomb is approximately 190g and fits snuggly in my hand.

I love how clever the design is, even though the bath bomb is the standard round shape of a bath bomb (instead of the pill-shaped minion shape) you can still instantly recognise it as a Despicable Me minion.

The Minions bath bomb contains tonka and vanilla absolute, the scent is meant to emulate banana milkshake.

When I am holding the bath bomb in my hand, I can just about make out the banana-like-scent although it’s not very strong.

It’s a very dry and powdery fragrance, it reminds me of the banana powder I used to have in the kitchen cupboard when I was little, a spoonful of that in a glass of milk was one of my favourite drinks growing up.

Minions’ scent is very gentle, making it a perfect bath bomb for customers that don’t like super strong Lush scents.

Lush have been pushing so many sweet foody scents on customers this Summer; The Minions bath bomb is a great subtle alternative to those strong and sweet foody scents.

As soon as the Minions bath bomb touches your bath water you are greeted with an explosion of blue and yellow foam.

It doesn’t take long for the bath bomb to start spinning, charging around the bath water like a little minion coloured speed boat.

After just a few minutes the minions candy eye falls off, sinking to the bottom of the bath where it begins to slowly melt.

There wasn’t as much bath art as I expected from the Minions bath bomb but the blue and yellow colours spilling out of it created almost illuminous, bright green water. Colour wise, it reminded me of the Fizzbanger bath bomb.

After ten minutes, the bath bomb has fully dissolved leaving you with silky soft bright green water.

I found myself soaking in the bath a little longer than I ordinarily would as it was so gentle. Sadly, the banana element of the bath bombs scent doesn’t get much stronger during use, but you can just about detect it although it is very subtle.

Once out of the bath my skin felt smooth and hydrated, scent wise, all that I could really smell was a small amount of vanilla.

Again, because of this I can see it being a popular bath bomb with customers that prefer the tamer, less in your face Lush fragrances.

Overall, I am obsessed with the Minions bath bomb. It has a very well thought out design and because of this, is probably one of my favourite collaboration-bath-bombs that Lush have ever made!
