Prince Charming Shower Cream from Lush

Shower Creams are still relatively new to Lush, the first one I ever tried was Yuzu and Cocoa. I think it was just under 3 years ago, I loved it and upon first use I was very keen to try others.

I was delighted to see that for Lush’s 2016 Valentine range, Lush were bringing out a never before been released shower cream called Prince Charming.

In previous years it had only ever been released as a shower gel. At the time I hadn’t actually come across the Prince Charming scent before, not even in the shower gel format, the scent was therefore brand new to me.

Arguably I could just read what ingredients it had on the website, doing that normally doesn’t help me much at all though. I have found that most of the time the scent of a Lush product is never quite how you had envisioned it while reading it’s ingredients list. Similar based products can be so different in so many ways which is why you really do have to try everything that Lush has on offer at least once.

Prince Charming Shower Cream.png

Looking at Prince Charming the first thing you notice is of course how strikingly pink it is.

Upon first glance it reminded me of the Comforter shower cream, I really, really wanted to like it and had heard several people raving about it so took the plunge and ordered a 100g bottle to get me started. Let’s just say I was very happy upon first sniff and was kicking myself that I hadn’t ordered a bigger bottle.

Unlike the Lord of Misrule and Comforter shower cream I didn’t find Prince Charmings scent at all offensive, it was sweet but not so sweet that too much could make me feel sick.

More is definitely good with Prince Charming, take it from me!

While snooping online I noticed that a lot of people were saying that the Prince Charming shower cream smelt very similar to the Yuzu and Cocoa shower cream.

At first I rolled my eyes, I thought what madness is this?! BUT the next time I was in the bath and I had another sniff I realised that they weren’t mad at all, there was a huge similarity between the two. I really don’t know how I had missed it.

Prince Charming isn’t as sharp as Yuzu and Cocoa, it’s a lot more mellow and in my opinion better for a night time bath or shower as it has less zing. It is yet another perfect ly scented Lush product that works beautifully if you’re looking to wind down after a long day.

Although I am finding myself using a bit more product than I normally would to get it to lather, I really don’t mind as it is such a gentle and smooth formula that soothes and moisturises my skin perfectly. Like Yuzu and Cocoa I can smell it on my skin for the rest of the day after using it which is always the signs of a brilliant Lush product.

In regards to the shower creams in general, I know that the bright colours can put people off. The first time I used Yuzu and Cocoa it was so yellow when putting it on my body that I felt like I was Homer Simpson. I felt exactly the same when first applying Prince Charming, the pinkness of it took me back a little but it lathered up nicely enough and rinsed off just fine. I actually quite liked being covered in pink loveliness even if it was only briefly…

I am so glad that Lush have decided to bring Prince Charming shower cream back as a part of their 2017 Valentine’s day range. Prince Charming can get in the bath with me any day, any time!

Green Green Bath of Foam Bubble Bar from Lush

green-green-bath-of-foam-bubble-barI love how the Lush Kitchen reintroduces us all to long forgotten products from Lush’s past.

When the Green Green Bath of Foam Bubble Bar appeared in the Lush Kitchen back in November 2016 I had never even heard of it before. Curiosity as always got the better of me and I decided to order a few.

I know you’re all sick of hearing of Christmas now, I can assure you I am too. Green Green Bath of Foam is however designed in the shape of Christmas tree so I may have to use the C word a couple more times in this review, sorry!

Green Green Bath of Foam is primarily a Christmas bubble bar I however feel it would work well all year round. For me Lush Christmas products are ones like Hot Toddy shower gelChristmas Kisses bubble bar and the Gingerbread House bubble bar. There’s just something about the spicy and warming products that help me get in the Christmas mood.

The Green Green Bath of Foam bubble bar is decorated with fresh red peppercorns that I think vaguely resemble ladybirds in the photo above. I have even dreamt that they turn into ladybirds, rest assured they don’t, (I really need to get out more.)

It is a beautifully, bold and festive green. As far as it being Christmas themed goes, I feel that it certainly looks like a Christmas product, it is however very different from ones that we have got used to in the most recent Winter product lines.

With a mix of bergamot, grapefruit and frankincense oil in it, the Green Green Bath of Foam scent is an uplifting one, it helps clear my mind of any stresses I have faced that day and helps me wind down and relax.

It pairs beautifully with the Blackberry bath bomb, together they make an excellent bath time cocktail that always ensures I get a much better nights sleep.

I was totally blown away by this bubble bar. I honestly didn’t expect it to make much of an impression on me, it however did and I can’t believe why Lush Kitchen haven’t bought this retro Lush product back sooner?

The next time it pops up in the Kitchen I will most certainly be ordering some more. I don’t think it is a very Christmassy product but I could get used to it being one if I had to! 😉

Unicorn Horn Bubble Bar from Lush

Unicorn Horn Bubble Bar.pngFirst and foremost I would like to point out that no unicorns were hurt in the making of this product! Now that, that has been cleared up…

The Unicorn Horn Bubble Bar is the Lush product that I get the most excited about purely because of its name alone. Over the years it has been released several times as a Valentine’s Day special. Once upon a time it was not only stripey but also decorated with a sprinkling of stars. The stars have now sadly gone BUT without the stars the Unicorn Horn bubble bar is still one of the prettiest products I have ever used from Lush.

I’m not sure what the connection of unicorns and Valentine’s day is but I’m not going to argue with it featuring in the annual Valentine’s Day range as I look forward to it after a long Winter, it reminds me that Spring is almost here.

I am unicorn mad, I adore them and have done so ever since I was a little girl. The other half even lets us use unicorn bedding once in a while. He’s clearly a keeper.

I just can’t help myself when it comes to unicorns. I just love the idea of a mythical creature living undetected in a beautiful forest filled with wild flowers, a spring and blissful bird song.

Featuring lavender and neroli oil the Unicorn bubble bar has a cheery and relaxing scent.

The smallest amount of Unicorn Horn bubble bar creates mounds and mounds of soft, fluffy and fragrant bubbles.

A lot of people ask me how I use my bubble bars. Do I grate them? (picture above) do I crumble them in my hand under a running tap? do I use a sieve/tea strainer?

My answer is I do all of the above, using any of the methods I have mentioned above always creates a huge amount of silky smooth bubbles. My advice is to do whatever works best for you. There is no right or wrong way to use it, grate, crumble or sieve.

As a recovering(ish) insomniac I always seem to gravitate to the ‘night time’ products, most of the products that I class as night time ones are lavender based, the most iconic one for me being the Twilight bath bomb.

The Unicorn Horn bubble bar works with so many other Lush products, my favourite Unicorn Horn cocktail bath is Unicorn Horn either with the Frozen or Lover Lamp bath bomb.

Neroli oil has been scientifically proven to boost the level of serotonin in the brain a.k.a the happy hormone.  Not only is the Unicorn Horn product a night time must have, it is also very good to use if you’re feeling a bit down in the dumps.  This bubble bar is the perfect mix of  floral and citrus-fruit scent.

img_4015

Beneath the thick, silky lavender and neroli scented bubbles is twinkling, soft-pink bath water. I never, ever use a whole bubble bar for just one bath as I don’t feel you need to, a little chunk of Unicorn Horn goes a very long way.

If you’re looking for a quick and easy way to help you wind down allowing you to drift off into an easier nights sleep, look no further.

I just love this bubble bar and I really wish it was permanent stock rather than just a Valentine special.
