Tender is the Night Body Lotion from Lush

At the time of writing this review the Tender is the Night Body Lotion was an exclusive item only ever available in the 48th Lush Kitchen Subscription Box.

As you can see from the photos I have included in this review, the product labels aren’t the normal Lush labels, they are incredibly detailed and have a regency era vibe, this is because this month’s box was BRIDGERTON THEMED.

The Bridgerton Lush Kitchen subscription box arrived just ahead of the release of season 3 of one of the biggest Netflix series to date, and I couldn’t be more excited for both the Lush products and the start of Bridgerton season 3!

The Tender is the Night body lotion shares its scent with one of my favourite Lush massage bars of all time, the long-discontinued Tender is the Night massage bar.

The Tender is the Night scent is best described as quite a subtle fragrance that has floral-sweet notes of both ylang ylang and jasmine with hints of vanilla too.

Some of the ingredients included in the body lotion are ylang ylang flower infusion, almond oil, fair trade organic cocoa butter, organic jojoba oil, organic illipe butter, vanilla absolute, jasmine absolute and ylang ylang oil.

When we get super exclusive products like this Bridgerton, Tender is the Night body lotion a small part of me always hopes it’s not very good. This is because there’s nothing worse than falling in love with a product you can’t get any more of and sadly, this is a product I’ve fallen in love with…

The Tender is the Night body lotion came in 100g Lush black pots. The body lotion itself is a lighter nude shade and consistency wise it’s a lot like the Sleepy body lotion; Not too thick that it takes forever to rub in and not so thin you accidentally waste it when trying to use it.

A small amount of the Tender is the Night body lotion goes a very long way. I first used it in one morning and could still smell its sweet scent on me as I was getting into bed that night.

The scent doesn’t change much over a period of time but once on my skin for an hour or two aspects of it strangely begin to remind me of white chocolate.

As I said earlier, using the Tender is the Night body lotion requires minimum effort as the lotion sinks right into your skin leaving it perfectly hydrated and soft.

I’m not sure why it has taken Lush so long to create a Tender is the Night body lotion, it’s a must have!

American Cream Bath Bomb from Lush

Today I am reviewing the brand-new American Cream Bath Bomb from Lush’s 2024 World Bath Bomb Day collection.

Out of all of Lush’s brand-new bath bombs it was the American Cream one that first caught my eye because of its unique design. It’s a snow-white bath bomb decorated with small hot-pink stars.

All of Lush’s bath bombs are handmade, each of the stars in the American Cream bath bomb are actually mini, star-shaped bath bombs. I can’t believe how precise each star is, it’s a bath bomb work of art!

I wish Lush were still on social media so that we could see the making, and all of the other behind-the-scenes stuff as I love to see the whole process, especially with a bath bomb as detailed as American Cream.

The American Cream bath bomb contains coarse sea salt, vanilla absolute, clary sage oil, lavender oil, benzoin resinoid and strawberry powder.

It shares its scent with several hugely popular products such as the American Cream hair conditioner, American Cream shower gelMarshmallow World bath bomb and most recently the Gary the Snail bath bomb too.

Lush describe the American Cream bath bomb as a ‘creamy vanilla and sweet strawberry’ scented bath bomb ‘with a fragrance reminiscent of strawberry-vanilla milkshakes in 1950s American diners.’

I’ll admit, the American Cream scent family has never been my favourite of Lush’s many fragrances, but it has grown on me over the years. I find it reminds me of the tree-shaped car-air-fresheners that were popular when I was growing up.

Each of the American Cream bath bombs are approximately 190g each fitting easily in my hand.

As soon as the American Cream bath bomb comes into contact with your bath water, white foam starts to spill out of it shortly after, small pink streaks start to foam out of it too.

After another couple of minutes, I could also see the signs of something blue coming from the American Cream bath bomb, this was a complete surprise to me as I thought it was going to create only pink and white bath art.

As always, the photos in this review do the bath bomb no justice at all.

Although there were small signs of blue bath art beginning to come out of the American Cream bath bomb alongside the pink and white, it wasn’t enough for me to pick it up clearly on camera. If you zoom in on the below photo you can almost see it has a slight blue tinge.

Even without the blue, the pink and white bath art that the American Cream bath bomb created was absolutely incredible. The bath bomb charged around my bath creating its perfect pink and white swirls for a good 10 minutes!

The water left behind by the American Cream bath bomb was however my most favourite thing about the bath bomb.

I admit I am biased when it comes to anything pink (as I can never get enough of the colour) but the end bath water from American Cream is a pink fans idea of heaven!

I wish I could have got a decent photograph of the bath water to share here, it was a baby pink and so, so shimmery. I felt bad pulling the plug out at the end as it was that beautiful.

The American Cream water left my skin lightly fragranced and really soft to the touch. I couldn’t help but notice how hydrated my skin looked after using it too.

Overall, I have to say that I am completely in love with the American Cream bath bomb, as I said earlier it isn’t my favourite Lush-scent-family but wow does it create some incredible bath art.

The American Cream bath bomb has left me so excited to try all of the other new bath bombs and I’m now more open to trying more Lush-scent-families that I haven’t always got on well with!

Posh Chocolate Shower Gel from Lush

The Posh Chocolate Shower Gel is a brand-new, limited-edition product from Lush’s small but glorious, gourmand product drop. I was lucky enough to receive a bottle of it as a gift from Lush.

Lush describe the Posh Chocolate shower gel as ‘a true feast for the senses’ and that is exactly what this rich, chocolatey shower gel is.

The Posh Chocolate shower gel contains a generous helping of skin-hydrating glycerine, cocoa powder, hazelnut milk, fine sea salt, cocoa absolute, Australian sandalwood oil and a dash of vanilla absolute too.

Fresh from the bottle the Posh Chocolate shower gel smells just like a tub of hazelnut and cocoa spread.

The Posh Chocolate shower gel of course shares its scent with the Posh Chocolate body wash that was released back in 2021.

Some have questioned if we needed a shower gel equivalent of something we already have in a popular body wash formula, my say on the matter is, never, ever question the idea of MORE chocolate!

I don’t want to turn this review of the Posh Chocolate shower gel into just a comparison post between it and the Posh Chocolate body wash; Yes, they are very similar, but the shower gel still deserves a fair review all of its own.

The Posh Chocolate shower gel is the perfect shade of chocolatey brown, it’s thick but not at all difficult to get out of the bottle.

It’s hard to get your head around a chocolate-based shower gel not being sticky, it much like the Sticky Dates shower gel isn’t at all sticky and doesn’t leave you smeared in chocolate either. A little goes a long way, you really don’t need a lot of it to wash your whole body.

The Posh Chocolate shower gel takes a little longer to get into a lather than I am used to, BUT the more you lather it up the richer the chocolate scent seems to get.

Obviously, this shower gel is not meant to be eaten (after all, it is a SHOWER GEL) but I wouldn’t judge you for being tempted to give it a little lick (as it smells that good!)

My skin feels so soft and nourished after using the Posh Chocolate shower gel, it also appears fresh and clean.

I’d say that the Posh Chocolate shower gel isn’t quite as moisturising as the body wash equivalent, but I don’t prefer one to the other, both are great shower products that leave me smelling delicious.

Overall, I am loving the Posh Chocolate shower gel, it’s never been easier to smell like a snack thanks to Lush. I am obsessed with Lush’s recent burst of snackable scents, I can’t wait to see what they come up with next!
