Chelsea Morning Bath Bomb from Lush

Today I am reviewing the brand-new Chelsea Morning Bath Bomb from Lush’s 2024 World Bath Bomb Day collection.

I’m always honest in my reviews and the first thing I thought when my Chelsea Morning bath bomb arrived in the post was how unique it looked. 

To me, it looks like Lush have cut two very different bath bombs in half and stuck the wrong bits back together to make a new bath bomb in a sort of Frankenstein-style way.

Looks wise, the bottom blue and white half resembles the Blue Skies and Fluffy White Clouds bath bomb while the orange top reminds me of something you’d get as a sweet treat after dinner.

A quick Google of the phrase Chelsea Morning has told me that it’s the name of a song that was released in 1969.

The Chelsea Morning bath bomb contains tonka absolute, lemon myrtle oil, fenugreek absolute and vanilla absolute.

It is a brand-new Lush scent so hasn’t featured in any other Lush product at the time of writing this review.

Its scent is warm and sweet; It resembles butterscotch which really reminds me of my nan, she absolutely adored butterscotch sweets, even after she lost her false teeth she still managed to get through bags and bags of them every day.

Lush describe the Chelsea Morning bath bomb as having ‘an orange top resembling sunlight and a base of blue sky and clouds.’

Lush also say that this bath bomb is best enjoyed when used in the tub with the morning sun pouring through the window. Which is similar to the lyrics found in the 1969 song of the same name.

Just like the majority of the other bath bombs from the World Bath Bomb Day collection such as the Brother Moon bath bomb, Time of the Season bath bomb and Passion bath bomb, the Chelsea Morning bath bombs are approximately 180g each.

As soon as the Chelsea Morning bath bomb encounters your bath water there is an explosion of thick orange foam from its top, and thick white and blue foam from its bottom.

It slowly foams away as the whole of the bath bomb becomes submerged. It doesn’t take long for the bath bomb to start spinning.

I must admit, I was expecting more from the Chelsea Morning bath bomb bath art wise; It spat out plenty of colour, but it stayed so foamy that it just formed mounds of orange and white bubbles instead of the traditional bath art swirls I’m used to from a colourful, Lush bath bomb.

I also found that its scent wasn’t very strong once in the water, if you like the sweet-food-scents but find the stronger ones sickly, this could be a good bath bomb for you, but for me I really wanted to be able to smell the butterscotch scent in it more.

The Chelsea Morning bath bomb took about 7 minutes to fully dissolve. I am wondering if I got a bit of a dud as I have seen photos of it online that don’t quite match up to my experience of it.

Sometimes with bath bombs you’ve had for a while, once wet they just turn to mush, my Chelsea Morning bath bomb didn’t quite turn to mush but I think had I have left using it for any longer, it may have meant I wouldn’t even have got the colourful bubbles that I did (see below photo).

Saying all of that, I really hadn’t had it for that long though, a few weeks at most. Most of my bath bombs are still perfect if not used even after several months, which again leads me to believe that maybe I did just have a dud.

I am a little sad as I did really want to love this bath bomb, its scent when the bath bomb is in your hand is incredible but once it goes into the water it seems to dilute it to the point that the scent is so faint it is almost undetectable.

The water left behind is a deep and inviting shade of blood orange, it’s soft to touch and left my skin hydrated and silky smooth.

Normally at this point of a bath bomb review I’d tell you how the fragrance had transferred to my skin once I was out of the bath, unfortunately I couldn’t smell it on my skin at all. This however could be a positive for customers who like more subtle Lush scents.

Overall, I did enjoy using the Chelsea Morning bath bomb, but I don’t think I’ll be buying anymore. For me personally I just would have liked its scent to be a little stronger during use.

Guardian of the Forest Shower Gel from Lush

In the UK, the Guardian of the Forest Shower Gel first came out, back in the Summer of 2019 as a part of a community release with six other never-before-been-released shower gels and the Cookie Dough body scrub.

I felt Guardian of the Forest was one of the most popular out of the six exclusive shower gels released back then so I am not surprised to see that it will be returning in the latest Lush Community shower gel drop, later this month (June 2024).

The Guardian of the Forest shower gel obviously has the same scent as the long discontinued, but very much loved, Guardian of the Forest bath bomb. The shower gel is bright green and slightly opaque and its consistency is thick but easy to get out of the bottle.


The Guardian of the Forest shower gel contains a long list of ingredients, it has oakmoss infusion, cypress leaf infusion, fresh lime juice, cypress oil, lime oil, rosewood oil, oakmoss absolute and moringa oil.

The scent is best described as a woody and fresh-forest-scent. Compared to its bath bomb equivalent, I feel that the lime oil and fresh lime juice is more noticeable in the shower gel format.

If you’re not familiar with the, The Legend of Zelda games, this won’t mean anything to you, but I have always imagined that the Guardian of the Forest scent is what the Korok Forest smells like. For anyone who hasn’t played the game, just imagine a magical forest full of strange yet wonderful creatures.

The Guardian of the Forest shower gel lathers up easily and a very small amount of it goes a long way. Mixed in with the steam and hot water of your shower, the scent really takes over your bathroom. Just shut your eyes, take a deep breath and you’re transported into an earthy, green forest.

Once out of the shower, the Guardian of the Forest scent remains on your skin for the best part of the rest of the day. Although, it is not as strong on your skin it is still very noticeable. I love how its scent remains, it’s like the magical forest comes with you as you go about your day. It also does a really good job of cleansing your skin leaving it looking and feeling brighter.

Overall, I love the Guardian of the Forest shower gel and am looking forward to maybe picking up a fresh bottle when it comes out again in fancy new packaging later this month.

Brother Moon Bath Bomb from Lush

Today I am reviewing the brand-new Brother Moon Bath Bomb from Lush’s 2024 World Bath Bomb Day collection.

If you’ve been a lushie for a while you may be getting a feeling of déjà vu when you look at the Brother Moon bath bomb, this is because it looks very similar to the Moon Bath bath bomb from the 2022 Christmas line.

Where Moon Bath is orange, Brother Moon is two shades of blue, and where Moon Bath is gold, Brother Moon is silver.

They both have the same half-moon shaped face too; They are definitely related but both of their scents are very different.

The Brother Moon bath bomb contains geranium oil, grapefruit oil and rose oil. It is a brand-new Lush scent so hasn’t featured in any other Lush product at the time of writing this review.

Lush describe the Brother Moon bath bomb as the perfect bath bomb to shift you from day to night. Its scent is very floral but has a zesty grapefruit twist, with notes of green rhubarb too. It’s as juicy as it is calming.

Each of the Brother Moon bath bombs are approximately 180g each fitting easily in my hand. With its cute moon design, I couldn’t wait to use it.

As soon as the Brother Moon bath bomb encounters your bath water there is an explosion of thick blue foam. Slowly the foam thins out. As the whole of the bath bomb becomes submerged you can see that both of its sides are two different shades of blue.

It doesn’t take long for the bath bomb to start spinning. I must admit, after reading the products description stating that the Brother Moon bath bomb created ‘astronomical bath art’ I was expecting something on par with the bath art created by the Passion bath bomb.

Now I’ve used it, I know the bath art is a lot less subtle than what the Passion bath bomb creates, I’d compare it to the small amount of bath art that the Twilight bath bomb creates.

The purple, blue and silver bath art it creates is still very pretty, I just wouldn’t describe it as astronomical myself.

The selling point for this bath bomb for me is its scent. If you do like the more subtle colours like those found in the Twilight bath bomb, I recommend giving Brother Moon a try, not all the best bath bombs create bright and bold bath art after all!

The Brother Moon bath bomb took 25 minutes to fully dissolve, It’s very likely that I have come across a bath bomb from Lush that has taken this long to dissolve before but if I have, I can’t remember it.

I was really surprised at how long it took. Again, the bath art wasn’t crazy-good (see the photo below) but with it being a bath bomb for the nighttime, maybe a slow dissolving, less in-your-face display of colour is better suited. It certainly helped me wind down.

I did find myself topping up the hot water while this bath bomb did its thing, which is something I never normally have to do, Not a complaint, just an observation.

The water left behind is a dark shade of blue, the silver flecks that made up the moon seem to have stuck together in bigger clumps which is quite unique for a bath bomb like this, normally it would break down completely creating a fine-shimmery water.

I loved the bigger flecks, it added something a little more special to the end-water-result.

I do wonder if it’s because of how long it took the Brother Moon bath bomb to dissolve but the scent could still be smelt in my bedroom long after I pulled the plug.

I used it quite early in the morning and when my husband got home from work at about 6pm, he asked me what it was that I had used as it smelt lovely!

Using the Brother Moon bath bomb left my skin lightly fragranced and feeling soft. I couldn’t help but notice how hydrated my skin felt and how much brighter it looked after using it too.

Overall, I really enjoyed using the Brother Moon bath bomb. I loved its new unique scent and have my fingers crossed we’ll see it in other product formats in the near future.
