Invaders From Mars Bubble Bar from Lush

The Invaders From Mars Bubble Bar is a brand-new, limited edition product from Lush’s 2024 Halloween line.

This quirky bubble bar has been created in the shape of a Martians head. Its dark pink brain is visible, and it has a bright green face with two huge circular eyes. Alongside its eyes it also has two large slits for nostrils and a prominent dimple on its chin.

It’s actually quite skeletal to look at and has a cheeky but somewhat bewildered smile on its face. It doesn’t have the prettiest of faces but I’m guessing that all Martians think the same about human faces!

With it being pink and green it has a similar colour palette to the Lord of Misrule bath bomb (although its colouring is all that the Invaders From Mars bubble bar has in common with the Lord of Misrule bath bomb).

At approximately 120g each the Invaders From Mars bubble bar fits perfectly in my hand.

The Invaders From Mars bubble bar contains some of the following ingredients: lime oil, sweet wild orange oil and olibanum resinoid.

It shares its scent with the Never Mind The Ballistics bath bomb.

Some of the products that share its scent are the 2024 version of the I Want My Mummy bath bomb, the Out Of This World bath bomb, the Tunnel Of Love soap and Fun For All The Family bubble spinner.

The Invaders From Mars bubble bars scent is best described as zesty, fruity and oh so vibrant… It is bold, a little sharp and also has a slightly woody undertone in it that never fails to lighten my mood whenever I am around it.

To use the non-reusable bubble bars like Invaders From Mars, I break them up then stick the bubble bar pieces into a sieve and let the running-tap spill over it.

This method is the best way to ensure none of the bubble bar gets accidentally wasted and through trial and error, I have worked out that it is the best way to get the most out of your bubble bar, bubble wise.

One of the best thing about the Invaders From Mars bubble bar is just how far such a small amount of it goes.

You can get (at the very least) two baths out of just the one bubble bar without compromising on its scent quality and bubble amount. If you did however feel like you wanted to use more of it per bath, you can always add more, you are in charge after all!

A blanket of fluffy white bubbles starts to form as soon as you place the broken-up pieces of the Invaders From Mars bubble bar under the running tap.

Underneath the blanket of fluffy white bubbles, the water takes on a slightly lighter shade of what mulled wine usually looks like.

The bath water created by the Invaders From Mars bubble bar is incredibly soft and has such an uplifting and powerful fragrance. Using the Invaders From Mars bubble bar also really made a difference to the softness of my skin.

Overall, I loved using the Invaders From Mars bubble bar, you can still smell its fruity scent on you for several hours after and I also like that it isn’t your typical, bog-standard spooky Halloween product too, I adore its fun and quirky design!

Lotus Blossom Bath Bomb from Lush

The Lotus Blossom Bath Bomb is a brand-new, limited edition product from Lush’s 2024 Diwali line.

The Lotus Blossom bath bomb has been designed in the shape of a bright pink lotus flower; Each petal has small, embossed shimmering gold dots outlying its edges. Below its petals are the lotus flowers green leaves.

Each of the Lotus Blossom bath bombs are approximately 100g but are flat and therefore big enough to almost hide my hand.

Some of the ingredients included in the Lotus Blossom bath bomb are black pepper oil, clove bud oil, jasmine absolute, patchouli oil, and Australian sandalwood oil.

The Lotus Blossoms scent is very difficult to describe but I’m going to give it my best shot… To my nose, the most dominant ingredients in it are the black pepper, patchouli and sandalwood.

It’s a very warm and peppery fragrance with a sweet but woody base. At first, I wasn’t quite sure if I liked its scent, but it grew on me very quickly. There is something about this blend of ingredients that is slightly exotic too, it’s incredibly complex, the more you sniff the more scent layers seem to come through.

As soon as the Lotus Blossom bath bomb touches the water, you are greeted with an explosion of mostly hot pink foam. The green from the bath bombs leaf parts also foams up but the pink foam is definitely the star of the show, taking over the bath bomb, demanding to be seen.

With this bath bomb being flat, it doesn’t take long for the water to completely take over it. I was expecting a lot of bath art from this pink and green bath bomb but unfortunately after about a minute and a half the bath bomb sank.

When this happens to a really pigmented bath bomb like the Lotus Blossom it is a little disappointing but if a bath bomb does sink, I always like to lay back in the bath water and let the little bubbles of it dissolving away tickle my back; It’s strangely relaxing!

The Lotus Blossom bath bomb took just over seven minutes to fully dissolve, leaving you with plenty of time to lay back and relax in its warming, cloudy purple waters.

Its scent is a lot gentler on your skin once you are out of the bath but can still be detected on you several hours after. It also leaves your skin soft and hydrated as well as your mind completely relaxed.

This bath bomb really does capture the beauty and prosperity that the lotus flower holds. It’s an excellent product that I’d love to see come back year after year for Diwali!

Cempasúchil Shower Gel from Lush

The limited edition Cempasúchil bath bomb is back for another year; Now, it is however joined by a brand new shower gel that not only shares its name but also shares its scent!

The Cempasúchil Shower Gel is a part of Lush’s Día de Muertos 2024 collection and I was lucky enough to be given a bottle of it by Lush. Día de Muertos, also known as the Day of the Dead is a holiday that is traditionally celebrated on the first 2 days of November.

It is widely celebrated in Mexico but is also observed in other places especially by people of Mexican heritage.

It is a celebration in honour of family and friends who have passed. It isn’t at all a period of mourning or a sad affair, it’s a cheerful holiday where the living come together to remember their departed loved ones.

The Cempasúchil shower gel contains some of the following ingredients: marigold petal infusion, fine sea salt, bergamot oil, buchu oil and grapefruit oil.

Its scent is best described as irresistibly fruity with a tropical twist and sharp-icy-twang. It’s incredibly refreshing and so juicy it leaves me wanting to go and eat everything in our fruit bowl…

The Cempasúchil shower gel is orange and sparkly with a thick but easy to get out of the bottle consistency. As I said earlier, the shower gel shares its scent with the bath bomb of the same name.

The scent and idea behind the product is inspired by marigold flowers. The fragrant, bright orange and yellow marigold flowers are said to attract the souls of the dead. Families will often scatter marigold petals forming a path from their front door leading to their ofrenda (their offering to the departed) as a way to guide the soul’s home.

A very small amount of the Cempasúchil shower gel goes a long way, something I wasn’t expecting considering its thicker consistency. It effortlessly lathers up into a peach coloured foam that glides over your skin leaving it soft and clean.

Mixed in with the steam and hot-shower-water the scent really takes over your bathroom, it’s mouth-wateringly good!

Once out of the shower the, Cempasúchil scent remains on your skin for several hours. Though this product has been released for this specific time of year, I’d say that it has a very versatile scent that is perfect for enjoying all year round. I can see myself reaching for it especially in the Summertime.

Overall, it’s a great edition to Lush’s Día de Muertos line and has left me excited to see what Lush come up with next.
